Configure the GameSir G7 Pro 8K in three places: use GameSir Connect on a PC for software settings and polling-rate control, move the controller’s physical trigger stops to choose analog or switch-style input, and use the M button with the right stick to select one of four onboard profiles. The controller’s advertised maximum of 8,000Hz applies to wired and 2.4G wireless operation on PC; it should not be treated as an Android or Switch specification.
The official manual does not publish a fixed app click path or a complete list of selectable polling rates. The safe procedure is therefore to use the current GameSir Connect interface, record the connection and platform you tested, and treat any polling-test number as a result of that particular setup rather than a guaranteed end-to-end latency figure.
What you need before changing settings
The controller and its two PC connection options
For PC configuration, connect the G7 Pro 8K either with the included USB-C cable or with its bundled 2.4G wireless receiver. GameSir says each controller pairs only with its original bundled dongle, so a receiver from another controller is not a substitute. The company also says original bundled accessories are not sold separately; do not plan a setup around buying a replacement receiver by itself.

GameSir Connect
Install the current PC software from the GameSir software-download page. The listing reviewed for this guide showed GameSir Connect version v1.14.5, updated July 6, 2026, and included the G7 Pro 8K PC in its compatibility list. Software labels and screens can change, so use the version actually offered when you configure the controller rather than relying on an old screenshot.
Platform limits
GameSir’s manual specifically limits 8K polling to PC. It documents wired and 2.4G connections for the high-rate specification, but it does not establish that the same rate is available on Android or Nintendo Switch.
| Connection or platform | What is documented | How to handle it |
|---|---|---|
| PC over USB-C | Up to 8,000Hz is specified. | Use GameSir Connect to expose and save the available setting. |
| PC over the original 2.4G receiver | Up to 8,000Hz is specified. | Use only the receiver bundled with that controller. |
| Android or Switch | The manual does not say that 8K polling applies. | Do not assume the PC maximum carries over. |
Configure the polling rate on a PC
What polling rate means here
Polling rate is the frequency at which the controller reports its state to the host. GameSir gives two theoretical examples in its manual: 125Hz corresponds to an 8ms polling cycle, while 1,000Hz corresponds to a 1ms cycle. Those cycle intervals are not a complete measurement of input-to-display latency. USB or wireless transport, the game’s input loop, rendering, display scan-out, and other stages still contribute to what you feel on screen.
The specification is an upper limit, not a promise that every application, game, port, or test will observe exactly 8,000 reports per second. GameSir’s wording is that the controller “supports up to 8000Hz polling rate on both wired and 2.4G wireless connections.”

Safe configuration procedure
- Choose the connection. Plug in the USB-C cable or pair the controller with its own bundled 2.4G receiver. For a repeatable comparison, use the same connection while changing only the polling setting.
- Open GameSir Connect. Download the current release from GameSir’s software page and confirm that the application recognizes the G7 Pro 8K PC.
- Open the controller’s current settings view. Look for the polling-rate control exposed by the installed version. GameSir’s public manual does not specify the exact screen name, click sequence, or every rate that the application may offer, so do not infer a menu label from another model or an older release.
- Select a value the application actually presents. If a rate is not listed, the manual provides no basis for claiming that the controller supports it in that connection or software state. Leave the setting at the available value instead of entering an undocumented number.
- Apply the change using the current interface. Follow any save, apply, or reconnect prompt shown by GameSir Connect. The published manual does not require a particular restart sequence.
- Record the test conditions. Note wired versus 2.4G, the PC, firmware and controller configuration, the test program, and the selected rate before comparing results.
Why a polling test may not show the configured number
A configured rate and a test result are different claims. GameSir identifies PC system load, USB port, hubs, controller configuration, firmware, testing software, and the test method as variables. Its manual cautions: “Due to these numerous variables, minor deviations in polling rate results between different PCs or separate test runs are normal.”
For a useful check, close unnecessary programs, use a stable direct USB connection when testing wired operation, avoid a heavily loaded hub, use current test software, and repeat the same method. These steps improve comparability; none guarantees that a program will report 8,000Hz or that the displayed figure equals total input latency.
If GameSir Connect does not show a polling control
- Verify that the application identifies the G7 Pro 8K PC rather than another connected controller.
- Check whether you are on the current GameSir Connect release; the version and menu names are subject to change.
- Test the original receiver and a direct USB-C connection separately, because the selected connection is part of the result.
- Confirm that the controller is being configured on a PC. The manual’s 8K statement is not an Android or Switch guarantee.
- Do not substitute a third-party receiver or invent a rate list from a different GameSir model.
Set the physical dual-mode trigger stops
The two trigger behaviors
The G7 Pro 8K’s physical stops change the triggers between Hall Effect analog mode and Micro Switch mode. These are different input types, not merely two software sensitivity presets.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →| Mode | Input behavior | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Hall Effect analog | The trigger retains variable travel, so the game can read how far it is pressed. | You need graduated throttle, brake, acceleration, aim, or another variable action. |
| Micro Switch | The trigger behaves as a short digital switch-style action. | You prefer a quick on/off activation for a game that does not need variable trigger travel. |
Neither mode is universally best. The appropriate choice depends on whether the game uses the trigger as an analog axis or as a digital button. The manual does not define a universal “best” position, and the exact physical direction or label should be verified on your own controller rather than guessed from a photograph.

Changing the stop
- Release the trigger and stop any game input.
- Move the physical trigger-stop control to the desired position on the controller. Use the markings and resistance of the actual device; do not force the mechanism past its stop.
- Open the game’s input screen or a controller tester and press the trigger slowly through its travel.
- Confirm that analog mode produces a changing axis value and that Micro Switch mode produces the short digital action you expect.
- Choose the mode before assigning a profile or calibrating, because calibration describes the currently selected input behavior.
Hair Trigger Mode is a separate setting
Do not confuse the physical stop with the hair-trigger toggle. In long-travel mode, hold M + LT for two seconds to toggle hair-trigger behavior on the left trigger, or hold M + RT for two seconds for the right trigger. This shortcut changes the trigger’s hair-trigger setting; it does not move the physical dual-mode stop.
If a trigger behaves unexpectedly after configuration, check whether Hair Trigger Mode is enabled before assuming the hardware stop is defective. A game that needs a full analog range may respond differently when hair-trigger behavior is active.
Select and manage the four onboard profiles
Profile shortcuts
The controller stores four selectable onboard profiles. Hold the M button and toggle the right stick in the direction shown below:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
| Profile | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Profile 1 | Hold M and toggle the right stick upward. |
| Profile 2 | Hold M and toggle the right stick left. |
| Profile 3 | Hold M and toggle the right stick right. |
| Profile 4 | Hold M and toggle the right stick downward. |
Configure a profile without assuming what it contains
- Connect the controller to the PC and open GameSir Connect.
- Use the current profile controls in the application to edit the settings the software exposes.
- Save the configuration to the intended profile slot, following the labels shown by your installed version.
- Select that slot with the M-plus-right-stick shortcut and test it in a controller-input screen.
- Repeat the process for the other slots only when you have a reason to keep separate configurations.
The manual documents how to switch slots, but it does not prescribe a named game for Profile 1, 2, 3, or 4 and does not define a permanent factory purpose for each slot. Treat the numbers as storage locations. For example, you might reserve one slot for analog racing controls and another for a digital-trigger game, but that is a personal organization choice rather than a GameSir recommendation.

Make profile switching predictable
- Write down the intended contents of each slot before changing several settings at once.
- After switching, test the right stick and both triggers so you know which profile is active.
- Avoid editing a slot while a game is reading input; close or pause the game if accidental presses could change an action.
- Remember that a full settings reset removes profiles and custom settings, so export or record anything you want to recreate before resetting.
Calibrate inputs after changing modes
When calibration is appropriate
Calibration is useful when a stick does not return to center, a trigger does not reach its expected range, or an input tester shows an abnormal value after a physical or software change. It is separate from selecting the trigger-stop mode and does not turn a Micro Switch trigger into an analog one.
GameSir documents stick and trigger calibration in its support material. Follow the current calibration instructions in the manual or in GameSir Connect for the exact prompts shown by your version. Keep the controller still while the application records center and end points, and test the result in the same mode in which you intend to play.
Reset only when you accept the cost
The support manual also describes a full settings reset. GameSir warns that the reset clears profiles and custom settings. Use it as a recovery step when ordinary calibration or reconnecting has not fixed the behavior, and plan to recreate your profile configurations afterward.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
The controller connects, but the app cannot configure it
- Close GameSir Connect, reconnect the controller through USB-C or its original receiver, and reopen the current application.
- Remove other gamepads temporarily so the app does not select the wrong device.
- Try the alternate documented PC connection and compare detection, without treating the two paths as identical test conditions.
- Check the software-download page for a newer release and read any device-specific prompt it provides.
A polling test reports a lower or inconsistent rate
First, verify the selected platform and connection. Then repeat the test on a near-idle PC with a direct, stable USB path, current testing software, and an unchanged method. Compare several runs rather than treating one reading as a specification. PC load, hubs, firmware, controller settings, and the tester can all move the result, as GameSir explains in its manual.

A trigger is acting like the wrong type
- Inspect the physical stop and confirm which of the two positions is selected.
- Check Hair Trigger Mode, particularly if the trigger is in long-travel mode and its response changed after holding M with LT or RT.
- Test the trigger in a raw input screen before changing game bindings.
- Calibrate through the current GameSir instructions if the axis range or center is incorrect.
The profile shortcut does nothing
- Hold M while making a clear up, left, right, or down toggle on the right stick; a casual movement without the M button is not a profile command.
- Test the shortcut outside a game so an in-game binding does not obscure the result.
- Reopen GameSir Connect and confirm that the slot contains saved settings.
- If you performed a full reset, recreate the profiles because the reset clears them.
The wireless receiver is missing or will not pair
Use the receiver originally bundled with that controller. GameSir states that each controller pairs only with its own bundled dongle, so another unit’s receiver is not an interchangeable replacement.
Practical setup examples
Variable-control games
Select Hall Effect analog mode when the game maps a trigger to a continuously varying action. Keep hair-trigger behavior off if the game needs the full travel range, then calibrate and verify the axis from rest to full press.
Digital-action games
Select Micro Switch mode when the trigger is used as a straightforward on/off action and short travel is more comfortable for your play style. Verify the binding after switching, because the game may expose the input differently from an analog axis.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Mixed game library
Use separate onboard slots for genuinely different control needs. Assign the slots in a way you can remember, then switch with the documented M-plus-right-stick command before launching a game. Keep the polling-rate choice constant while comparing games; otherwise a change in connection or rate can be mistaken for a profile effect.
Quick Recap
Limits to keep in mind
- The 8,000Hz figure is a GameSir specification for wired and 2.4G wireless PC use, not an independent performance test.
- Polling-cycle timing does not equal total end-to-end latency.
- GameSir has not published a universal app path or complete selectable-rate list in the reviewed manual.
- Trigger-stop mode, Hair Trigger Mode, calibration, and profile selection are separate controls.
- Changing or resetting settings can remove custom profile data, so preserve your chosen assignments before a reset.
