For most people, the choice comes down to four trade-offs: 25GB for the lowest standard price, 50GB for a larger bankable allowance, Unlimited for unlimited data at a 40Mbps cap, or Unlimited+ for an 80Mbps cap when a compatible 5G phone and coverage are available. Compare the recurring price after any introductory offer, your normal data use, and whether you need faster large downloads—not the headline speed alone.

The four Felix plans at a glance

Felix lists four monthly options. The first two have a fixed allowance that can accumulate when you do not use it; the other two remove the allowance limit but impose a maximum data speed. The standard prices below are the recurring amounts to use for a like-for-like comparison, rather than any temporary new-customer discount.

Plan Included data Standard monthly price Advertised maximum speed Best fit
25GB 25GB each month, with unused data banked $30 Up to 150Mbps on compatible 5G/4G devices Moderate users who value the lowest price and a growing reserve
50GB 50GB each month, with unused data banked $35 Up to 150Mbps on compatible 5G/4G devices Users who regularly exceed 25GB or want more headroom
Unlimited Unlimited data $40 Up to 40Mbps Heavy users who prefer no allowance to monitor
Unlimited+ Unlimited data $50 Up to 80Mbps Heavy users who download large files and have 5G-compatible equipment and coverage

At the listed standard rates, the annual equivalents are $360 for 25GB, $420 for 50GB, $480 for Unlimited and $600 for Unlimited+, assuming the price remains unchanged for 12 renewals. Those totals are useful for seeing the long-term gap, but Felix bills monthly and says plans can be cancelled without an exit fee.

Start with the recurring cost, not the introductory price

Use the standard renewal price as the baseline for your decision. A new-customer promotion can make the first few months look cheaper, but eligibility, duration and the price after the offer vary. Record both figures before ordering:

  • the promotional amount and exactly how many renewals it covers;
  • the standard amount charged when the promotion ends;
  • any activation or one-off charge shown at checkout; and
  • the date on which the next price applies.

Felix plans renew monthly and can be cancelled without an exit fee, so the useful comparison is ongoing monthly spend rather than a fixed-term total. Felix also says prices can change; check the live plan page and the terms immediately before signing up.

On the standard prices, moving from 25GB to 50GB costs $5 more for an additional 25GB. That is $60 over 12 months if both prices stay unchanged. Moving from 50GB to Unlimited costs another $5 and removes the allowance ceiling, but lowers the advertised cap from 150Mbps to 40Mbps. Unlimited+ adds $10 over Unlimited, or $120 over a year, for an 80Mbps cap, subject to 5G requirements. Those differences matter only if the extra data or higher cap solves a problem you actually have.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A January 2026 Felix notice illustrates why old prices can mislead: some long-standing Unlimited customers had a $5 discount after the standard price changed from $35 to $40 in September 2023, and their renewals rose to $40 from 5 January 2026. That historical arrangement should not be treated as a current new-customer price.

What the speed caps mean in everyday use

150Mbps on the capped plans

The 25GB and 50GB plans show speeds up to 150Mbps on compatible 5G/4G devices. “Up to” describes a ceiling under suitable conditions; it does not mean every speed test, place or time will reach 150Mbps. A busy cell, weak indoor signal, an older radio, or a handset that lacks the relevant bands can all produce lower results.

Because both capped plans advertise the same maximum, choosing 50GB does not buy a higher speed cap than choosing 25GB. The $5 difference buys another 25GB of monthly allowance and the ability to bank unused data. If your only reason for considering 50GB is speed, the table does not show a speed advantage.

40Mbps on Unlimited

Felix describes Unlimited as unlimited mobile data at speeds up to 40Mbps. Its activity examples estimate about 3Mbps for HD video, 0.5Mbps for music streaming and 0.1Mbps for social-media browsing. Those are vendor examples rather than independent tests, and individual apps can need more or less bandwidth.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

At 40Mbps, normal HD streaming, music, social feeds and video calls should fit within the stated examples. Several activities can run at once, but performance still depends on signal and congestion. Very large uploads or downloads can take noticeably longer than on a faster connection, even though smaller everyday tasks may feel similar.

80Mbps on Unlimited+

Unlimited+ raises the advertised cap to 80Mbps. Felix says this option requires a compatible 5G device in a 5G coverage area. If your phone falls back to 4G, or your usual locations are outside the available 5G footprint, paying for the higher cap may not change the speeds you experience.

Felix’s overview says 5G is available only in select areas and on compatible devices. Check the places where you actually use data—home, work, study locations and regular travel routes—rather than assuming that a 5G-capable handset will have 5G everywhere.

Why a higher cap is not automatically better

Speed mainly changes how quickly a transfer completes. It does not increase the amount of data an app consumes, and it cannot overcome poor signal or congestion. For example, a 40Mbps cap is already far above the approximate bandwidth Felix gives for one HD stream. The 80Mbps option becomes easier to justify when you frequently fetch large game updates, cloud backups or video files and the network at your locations can deliver the extra capacity.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

There is no published independent, like-for-like speed test covering every Felix plan and location. Treat 150Mbps, 40Mbps and 80Mbps as plan limits supplied by Felix, not as promises about an average speed or a particular download time.

How data banking and unlimited data differ

Banked data on 25GB and 50GB

Felix says unused included data is added to your data bank at renewal, with no stated cap on the bank balance in its plan terms. Banking rewards a variable pattern: a light month can build a reserve for travel or an unusually busy month. It also means your effective available data can be greater than the monthly allowance, provided you have accumulated it.

For example, someone using 15GB on a 25GB plan would have 10GB unused to add at renewal. The exact balance and usage history should be checked in the Felix account, especially before a month when you expect heavy use. Banking is useful protection against occasional spikes, but it does not turn the plan into unlimited data.

When both the current allowance and banked data are exhausted, Felix says the service continues at up to 1.5Mbps. That reduced speed is described as suitable for basic browsing and music, but not HD video. An optional extra 10GB is listed at $10. Treat that add-on as an occasional safety valve, not as a reason to choose a smaller plan if you routinely exceed its allowance.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Unlimited and Unlimited+

The unlimited tiers remove the monthly allowance and the need to watch a bank balance. Their constraint is the defined speed cap: 40Mbps on Unlimited and 80Mbps on Unlimited+. Unlimited data does not mean unlimited performance, and it does not guarantee a particular speed at a particular address.

The two unlimited plans are not described as having the same banking mechanism as the capped plans. There is no monthly allowance to carry forward because data is already described as unlimited. Compare them on speed, monthly price, device requirements and the kind of activity you perform.

Which data model suits you?

  • Choose a bankable allowance if your use is usually predictable, you want the lowest recurring cost, and you can tolerate checking usage occasionally.
  • Choose Unlimited if your monthly consumption is hard to predict or you regularly use more than the capped allowances, while 40Mbps meets your activities.
  • Choose Unlimited+ only when large transfers are common and your device and locations can use Felix’s 5G service.

Putting the prices and allowances together

The $30 25GB plan costs $1.20 per included gigabyte when judged only by its monthly allowance. The $35 50GB plan works out to $0.70 per included gigabyte. These simple ratios are not a complete value calculation: banked data can increase the amount available, while an unlimited plan cannot sensibly be priced per gigabyte. They are useful only for understanding what the extra $5 buys on the capped tiers.

If you normally consume 10GB to 20GB and sometimes have a heavier month, 25GB can be economical because unused data is banked. If you regularly use 30GB to 45GB, 50GB gives more room for $5 extra rather than relying on the 1.5Mbps fallback or buying repeated add-ons. If you often use more than 50GB, the $40 Unlimited tier may be simpler than continually monitoring the balance.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Unlimited+ costs $10 more than Unlimited for a higher cap, not for a different quantity of data. The decision therefore turns on transfer speed and 5G access. Someone who mostly streams, browses and makes calls may notice little practical benefit from the extra $10, while someone who downloads large files regularly may value the shorter waits.

A practical method for choosing your plan

  1. Measure your recent use. Check the last three billing periods in your phone’s mobile-data settings or Felix account. Note total gigabytes, the busiest month, and whether usage came from video, tethering, updates or backups.
  2. Separate regular use from exceptional use. A one-time trip or operating-system download should not automatically determine a plan you will renew every month. Decide whether you would rather bank unused data for occasional spikes or pay for unlimited data continuously.
  3. Identify speed-sensitive tasks. List activities where waiting matters: large downloads, cloud restores, hotspot work sessions or sending video files. Ordinary messaging, music and one HD stream are less likely to need an 80Mbps ceiling.
  4. Check your handset. Confirm that it is unlocked, supports the required 4G/5G bands and is compatible with Felix. Unlimited+ specifically needs a compatible 5G device.
  5. Check the places you use service. Review Felix’s coverage information for home, work and regular travel routes. 5G is available only in select areas, and a plan cap cannot create coverage where none exists.
  6. Calculate the post-promotion monthly cost. Compare the standard renewal amount over the period you expect to keep the service. Ignore a temporary discount after recording it separately.
  7. Choose the lowest tier that satisfies all three tests. The plan should cover your normal data, provide enough speed for your important transfers, and work with your device and locations. If one test fails, move up a tier or change the requirement rather than relying on an advertised maximum.

Plan choices for common usage patterns

Light to moderate phone use

People who mainly message, browse, use maps and stream some music may stay below 25GB in many months. The 25GB plan offers the lowest standard price and banks unused data, giving occasional heavy months some protection. Review your history rather than assuming that a light month will always repeat.

Frequent video and social use

If video, photo uploads and app updates regularly push usage beyond 25GB but remain below 50GB, the 50GB tier provides a larger allowance for a $5 monthly increase. Its banking feature can preserve unused capacity in quieter months. Since the advertised cap remains up to 150Mbps, the reason to move up is allowance, not a faster headline speed.

Unpredictable or very high consumption

Unlimited removes the arithmetic of allowances and banking. It is the simpler choice when you cannot forecast your usage or when exceeding a capped plan would happen repeatedly. Decide whether the 40Mbps ceiling is acceptable for your largest routine transfers. It remains a mobile plan, not a promise of unrestricted household broadband.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Large downloads on a capable 5G connection

Unlimited+ is the specialist option. The extra $10 over Unlimited buys a higher advertised cap, not a guarantee that every download will be twice as fast. It makes sense only if you have a compatible 5G phone, reliable 5G at the locations where downloads occur, and a pattern of transfers that benefits from the additional ceiling.

Device, coverage and hotspot checks

Before selecting a speed-based plan, verify the complete chain: handset compatibility, SIM or eSIM support, local coverage and the network conditions at the time you normally use data. A 5G logo on a phone does not by itself establish compatibility with every network band or Felix’s service.

The capped plans advertise up to 150Mbps on compatible 5G/4G devices, so a 5G connection is not presented as mandatory for those plans. Unlimited+ is different: Felix specifically ties its 80Mbps offering to a compatible 5G device and a 5G coverage area. If either condition is missing, compare Unlimited at up to 40Mbps instead of paying for a cap you cannot use.

Felix positions these products as mobile plans, not substitutes for home internet. Tethering and hotspot use are subject to the personal-device conditions and Fair Use Policy in the plan terms. If several people depend on a continuous household connection, check those limits and consider whether a dedicated home service is more appropriate rather than assuming “unlimited” permits unrestricted replacement of broadband.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

When troubleshooting a lower-than-expected result, test in the same place and at different times, confirm that the phone has the intended network mode enabled, and compare performance with and without congestion. A single speed test cannot establish the ongoing experience, and no published like-for-like independent test covers every Felix plan and location.

Common comparison mistakes

  • Comparing a promotion with a standard price. Put the end-of-offer renewal amount beside the introductory amount.
  • Treating a cap as an average. “Up to 150Mbps,” “up to 40Mbps” and “up to 80Mbps” are maximums under suitable conditions.
  • Assuming unlimited means unthrottled. The unlimited tiers still have defined speed ceilings.
  • Expecting banking on every plan. Felix lists banking for the 25GB and 50GB allowances; unlimited tiers use an unlimited-data model instead.
  • Ignoring the 1.5Mbps fallback. On capped plans, exhausting both current and banked data invokes the reduced-speed condition until more data is available or added.
  • Buying Unlimited+ without 5G access. The higher cap requires both a compatible 5G device and 5G coverage.
  • Using mobile data as guaranteed home broadband. Hotspotting is governed by plan terms and fair use, and network conditions vary.
  • Relying on an old customer’s bill. Legacy discounts and historical prices may not apply to a new subscription.
  • Choosing by monthly gigabytes alone. Two plans can offer similar everyday experience while differing greatly in banking rules, speed ceilings and the consequences of exhaustion.

How to review the choice after signing up

Recheck usage after two or three renewals, not after a single unusual week. Look for whether you are consistently carrying banked data, repeatedly exhausting it, or paying for unlimited capacity you do not use. If the pattern changes, Felix’s monthly renewal structure lets you reassess without an exit fee, subject to the current terms.

Keep a note of the price shown on each renewal and any notification of a change. Promotions expire, prices can be revised, and coverage expands or varies by location. A plan that was the best value when your usage was 20GB may no longer be the right fit after a new work commute, regular hotspot use or a change of phone.

Frequently asked questions

Which Felix plan is cheapest?

The 25GB plan has the lowest listed standard price at $30 per month. It includes 25GB and banks unused data. A promotion may reduce the initial payments for eligible customers, but the renewal price is the figure to use for an ongoing comparison.

Is 50GB worth $5 more than 25GB?

It can be if you regularly approach or exceed 25GB, want a larger reserve, or would otherwise buy extra data. Both plans advertise up to 150Mbps, so the $5 pays for an additional 25GB allowance and the same banking feature, not a higher speed cap.

What happens when my banked data is gone?

After the monthly allowance and banked data are both used, Felix says capped plans continue at up to 1.5Mbps. The company describes that speed as suitable for basic browsing and music, but not HD video. An optional 10GB extra is listed at $10.

Does Felix put a limit on how much data I can bank?

Felix’s plan terms state that unused included data is added to the data bank on renewal, with no stated cap on the bank balance. Check the current terms for any change, and remember that banking applies to the 25GB and 50GB allowance plans rather than replacing the unlimited plans.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is Unlimited actually unlimited speed?

No. Felix describes Unlimited as unlimited mobile data at speeds up to 40Mbps. Unlimited+ raises the advertised cap to 80Mbps. Both are maximums, and actual speeds vary with the device, location, coverage and congestion.

Can I use Unlimited+ without a 5G phone?

Felix says Unlimited+ requires a compatible 5G device in a 5G coverage area. A 4G-only phone or a location without the relevant 5G coverage cannot make full use of the plan’s stated 80Mbps cap.

Will 40Mbps handle streaming and video calls?

Felix’s examples estimate approximately 3Mbps for HD video, 0.5Mbps for music and 0.1Mbps for social-media browsing. Those figures indicate that the 40Mbps plan can support those activities under suitable conditions, but they are provider examples rather than guarantees for every app, quality setting or location.

Can a Felix unlimited plan replace home broadband?

Felix says its unlimited mobile plans are for mobile use and must not be used as a substitute for home internet. Tethering and hotspotting are subject to personal-device conditions and the Fair Use Policy. Check those terms before relying on a phone connection for a household or continuous high-volume use.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why might my speed be below the advertised number?

The advertised figures are caps. Felix identifies device capability, location, network congestion and coverage as factors that affect actual speed. Test in the places and at the times you normally use service; one result cannot establish a typical experience.

How should I compare a promotion?

Write down the promotional amount, the number of renewals it covers, and the standard price that follows. Compare the post-promotion cost with the standard prices of all four tiers. Promotions are conditional and temporary and can be withdrawn, so do not use the introductory figure as the sole basis for a long-term decision.

Bottom line: match the constraint you actually feel

Choose 25GB when low recurring cost and banked data matter most; choose 50GB when you need a wider allowance without moving to unlimited; choose Unlimited when avoiding allowance management is worth accepting a 40Mbps cap; and choose Unlimited+ only when faster large transfers, a compatible 5G device and usable 5G coverage justify the higher monthly price. Confirm the standard renewal amount and current terms immediately before ordering, because promotions, prices and coverage are time-sensitive.
