The “Outdated Game Client” error usually means your installed ARC Raiders version does not match the build the servers currently accept. Fully close the game, check your platform’s update queue, and install any available patch before relaunching. If no update is offered, the release may not have reached your platform yet; reinstalling cannot make an unpublished update appear.
What the error means
The message points to a version mismatch between your game client and the version accepted by ARC Raiders servers. It does not, by itself, show that your account, PC, or console is broken. A game left suspended through a patch can also remain on an older session, so close it completely before checking for updates. Try these fixes in order
- Exit ARC Raiders completely. Do not leave it suspended or in console Quick Resume. Restart Steam or Epic Games Launcher on PC, or return to the console home screen and close the game.
- Check for a queued or paused update. On PC, open the launcher’s Downloads area. On a console, inspect its downloads or updates queue. Resume anything waiting and let both the download and installation finish; the platform may still be applying files after the download appears complete.
- Relaunch the game. Start ARC Raiders only after the update has finished. If the error persists, use the platform-specific check below.
Check for an update on your platform
Steam
- Open Library → Downloads and start or resume any ARC Raiders update.
- If the update is complete but the error remains, open ARC Raiders → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
- When verification finishes, launch the game again.
Verification can repair missing or damaged local files, but it cannot make Steam publish a newer game build that is not available yet.

Epic Games Store
- Exit Epic Games Launcher completely, including from the system tray, then reopen it.
- Check your Library for an Update button and install the patch if offered.
- If needed, open the game’s three-dot menu → Manage → Verify, then relaunch after verification completes.
PlayStation 5
- Close ARC Raiders.
- Highlight the game on the home screen, press Options, and choose Check for Update.
- Resume any queued item under Downloads/Uploads and wait for installation to finish before starting the game.
Xbox Series X|S
- Open Manage game & add-ons → Updates, or open the console’s downloads and updates queue.
- Resume a queued or paused ARC Raiders patch and let it install completely.
- Fully close and relaunch the game.
Menu labels can vary by platform software revision. These steps use built-in platform controls; no third-party repair tool is needed.

If no update is available
If your platform reports that the game is current, a new patch may not have reached that storefront or console yet, or server deployment may still be catching up. Check the update queue again later. Repeated verification or reinstalling will not create a patch that has not been released to your platform. The available guides do not establish a current accepted build number or platform release schedule, so there is no specific version or wait time to rely on.
If you play in a party or use cross-play
Have each player fully close ARC Raiders and check their own platform’s update queue. One member may be on an older build even if another is current. Once all available updates are installed, everyone should relaunch. If one platform still has no patch, the group may need to wait for its rollout and server recognition.

When to stop troubleshooting locally
If the latest available update is installed, PC file verification has completed where applicable, and a fresh launch still shows the error, further local repair may not help. A platform rollout or server synchronization delay remains possible. Reinstall only as a last resort if you suspect the local installation is damaged; it cannot resolve an update that is not available. The detailed platform guide was published August 8, 2026, and Pocket Tactics’ guide was updated January 3, 2026; neither reports an active outage or current build number.
