Use a clean, dry cotton swab to gently wipe the charging contacts on your Galaxy Buds and inside the charging case. Keep the earbuds dry, and do not scrape, press hard, or use alcohol, acetone, or other chemicals. Samsung’s directions vary by model, region, and component, so check the instructions for your exact Buds before using anything damp.
Clean the contacts safely
- Check the model-specific instructions. Identify your Galaxy Buds generation and look up its Samsung cleaning guidance. Instructions for one generation or region may not apply to another.
- Remove the earbuds from the case. Inspect the metal contacts on each earbud and the contacts in the case cradle for visible debris.
- Wipe gently with a dry cotton swab. Samsung’s general US instructions recommend a cotton swab for the earbud contacts, sensors, and contacts inside the case. Use light pressure; do not scrape or use sharp or metal tools. Samsung US: How to clean your Samsung Galaxy earbuds
- Keep liquid and chemicals away unless the exact instructions allow otherwise. Samsung’s general US guide cautions against liquids such as alcohol or soapy water, and its Buds4 guidance says to clean case contacts with a dry cloth. - Dry any moisture before charging. If sweat or liquid is on the contacts, carefully dry them with a clean, soft cloth and let the earbuds dry fully before putting them in the case or charging. Samsung warns that moisture can contribute to corrosion.
Why instructions can differ
Samsung’s guidance is not identical across all models and parts. The Buds4 guidance from Samsung Gulf specifies a dry cloth for the case contacts. By contrast, Samsung Canada’s Buds3 series page describes a limited method for the case contacts only: lightly moisten a cotton bud with distilled water, gently wipe those contacts, remove moisture with a dry bud, then leave the case open until completely dry. If your Galaxy Buds still will not charge
Dirty contacts are one possible cause, but cleaning is not a complete charging diagnosis. After the contacts and earbuds are dry, follow Samsung’s charging troubleshooting for your model.
