For most players, the right purchase is KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] on the platform they already use. It combines HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind in one package. Choose the platform first, then decide whether you want physical or digital media, check for duplicate ownership, and verify the live regional price and format before paying.
This is a broad collection of the listed Kingdom Hearts collections, not a claim that every release in the franchise is included. The guide below separates playable games from movie compilations, explains each platform’s format, and shows when an existing digital purchase may qualify you for a discount.
What KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] actually includes
The bundle is divided into three products. That structure matters because the contents are not simply numbered games I, II, and III placed side by side: the first two packages add important side stories and cinematic material, while the third adds the Re Mind chapter to KINGDOM HEARTS III.
KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-
The 1.5+2.5 package contains four playable titles:
- KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX
- Re:Chain of Memories
- KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX
- Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX
It also includes two HD movie compilations rather than playable remasters: 358/2 Days and Re:coded. These films provide story context, but they should not be counted as two additional games when you compare editions or estimate play time.
#1 Best Overall
- KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III] Amazon Exclusive Edition includes a double-sided poster.
- A value packed bundle featuring three collections: KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC).
- This product is also included in other bundle sets. Please ensure you do not purchase the same content more than once.
- Platform-exclusive Keyblade "Long Night" included with purchase!
- GAME-KEY CARD. 128 GB – Full game download via internet required.
KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
The 2.8 collection adds three different forms of content:
- Dream Drop Distance HD, a playable high-definition version.
- 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage, a short playable episode.
- χ Back Cover, a story movie.
Because 2.8 contains a full game, a shorter episode, and a movie, it functions as a bridge between the earlier remixes and the third numbered game rather than as a conventional three-game pack.
KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind
The final component is KINGDOM HEARTS III with the Re Mind DLC chapter. Buying the collection therefore gives you the base third game and this additional story content together; it is not the base game alone.

Square Enix’s three listed components define the scope of Collection [I~III]. Other Kingdom Hearts products are not named in those components. In particular, Melody of Memory is not listed as part of this bundle. Treat the collection as coverage of the three packages above, not as an “every game in the series” edition.
The scale explains why the package appeals to newcomers: the series had exceeded 37 million units in global package shipments and digital sales by the end of June 2024, according to Square Enix’s 2024 annual report. That figure describes the franchise’s cumulative performance, not the sales of this particular bundle.
Platform and format comparison
Start with the hardware or storefront you will actually use. The same three-part content is offered through different sales routes, and the physical-versus-digital options are not identical in every region.
| Platform or route | Availability and format | Store details recorded for the US | Useful platform features |
|---|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Square Enix lists digital and physical versions. | US PlayStation Store listing showed $74.99 when checked; listing gave an October 6, 2026 release date. | PlayStation-specific included Keyblade: Midnight Blue. |
| Xbox Series X|S and PC through Xbox | Digital route listed by Square Enix. | US Xbox Store listing showed $74.99 when checked; listing gave an October 6, 2026 release date. | Xbox Play Anywhere, Smart Delivery, 4K Ultra HD, and 60 fps+ are identified on the listing. Included Keyblade: Phantom Green. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Square Enix lists digital and physical availability. The cited US Nintendo page identifies a digital Switch 2 edition, so verify the retailer’s format description. | Nintendo’s listing gave an October 8, 2026 release date; a price was not exposed in the retrieved listing. | Included Keyblade: Long Night. |
The dollar figures and dates above are snapshots from US storefront pages and can change. A different country may show another currency, tax treatment, release timing, or product format. Check the checkout page for your account’s region rather than relying on an old search result.

Steam and Epic Games Store
Square Enix lists Steam and the Epic Games Store as digital storefronts for the collection. The available listing information does not establish a universal regional price or a complete set of PC system requirements for either store. Open the current product page for your region and confirm the edition, price, controller support information, and requirements before purchase.

Which platform should you choose?
Choose PS5 when you want a physical option or already use PlayStation
PS5 is the straightforward choice for an existing PlayStation household. Square Enix identifies both physical and digital paths, so you can buy a disc edition when you want to lend, resell, or display the game, or choose a download for immediate access. The US PlayStation listing captured for this guide was for PS5 and showed the bundle price in the comparison table above.
The included platform bonus is the Midnight Blue Keyblade for the included KINGDOM HEARTS III purchase. It is a cosmetic or gameplay bonus tied to the platform edition, not an additional game. Do not choose PS5 solely for that item if another platform better fits your library or display preferences.
Choose Xbox Series X|S when you want Xbox ecosystem features
The Xbox route is listed for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Xbox Play Anywhere and Smart Delivery identified on the US store page. Those labels indicate a purchase designed to work across the supported Xbox and Windows destinations under Microsoft’s program, while Smart Delivery handles the applicable console version. The listing also identifies 4K Ultra HD and 60 fps+ features; actual display output still depends on your console, screen, and settings.
Xbox’s platform Keyblade is Phantom Green. As with the other bonuses, it should be a tie-breaker after you have considered your existing library and where you want to play.
Choose Switch 2 when portability is the deciding factor
Switch 2 is the choice for players who want the collection on Nintendo’s current portable-console hardware. Square Enix lists both physical and digital availability, but the US Nintendo page used for this comparison is specifically marked digital. A retailer can carry a different SKU, so read the format field carefully before ordering a physical product.
The Switch version includes the Long Night Keyblade with the KINGDOM HEARTS III purchase. The Switch 2 listing supplied an October 8, 2026 release date. If your Nintendo account already owns qualifying cloud editions, check the discount rules before buying the full-price bundle.
Choose PC when you prefer flexible settings or do not own a console
PC buyers can use the Xbox digital route or the Steam and Epic Games Store listings. The Xbox listing explicitly identifies PC compatibility, Xbox Play Anywhere, Smart Delivery, 4K Ultra HD, and 60 fps+. Steam and Epic are also listed by Square Enix, but their regional prices and detailed requirements must be checked on the live store pages.

Physical or digital: decide before comparing prices
When physical makes sense
- You want a disc or cartridge that can be lent, collected, or resold where local rules allow.
- You have limited console storage and prefer installing from physical media, while remembering that modern games may still require downloads or updates.
- You are buying a gift and need a transferable product rather than an account-bound license.
Square Enix specifically identifies physical availability for PlayStation and Switch 2. The existence of a physical edition does not guarantee stock in every country, retailer, or print run, so confirm that the product page says “physical” and names the correct platform.
When digital makes sense
- You switch between devices in the same account ecosystem and want the purchase attached to your library.
- You want to preload or start without waiting for shipping.
- You are using Steam, Epic Games Store, or the Xbox PC route, where the listed path is digital.
Digital licenses are tied to the purchasing account and store region. Before paying, check that the signed-in account is the one you intend to keep and that the store page lists Collection [I~III], not a single component or a different bundle.
Check what you already own before buying
The collection’s components are also sold separately, and storefront pages warn that the product can appear in other bundles. A quick library audit can prevent paying twice for the same content.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Open your console or PC game library and search separately for HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III.
- Check whether Re Mind is already attached to your KINGDOM HEARTS III purchase. Owning the base game alone is not the same as owning the DLC chapter.
- Confirm the platform and account. A PlayStation purchase does not automatically become an Xbox, Switch 2, Steam, or Epic license.
- Compare the bundle’s current price with the cost of only the missing component, including any active sale.
- Read the store’s ownership warning immediately before checkout; storefront catalogues and bundle contents can change.
Existing-owner discounts
Square Enix says qualifying owners of individual digital component titles on Switch Cloud, PS4, or Xbox One can receive a 50% discount on the new bundle or component purchases described on its collection page. The offer is conditional: eligibility can depend on the exact title, account, region, platform entitlement, and the store’s current rules.
Switch 2 owners may also qualify for a 50% discount when they own all of the cloud titles individually or own Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud. Do not assume that any Kingdom Hearts purchase triggers the reduction. Sign in to the relevant store, add the intended edition to the cart, and verify that the discount appears before completing payment.
How to make the decision in six steps
- List your playable devices. Include the console or PC you use most, not merely hardware you own. A collection left on an unused system is poor value even if its sticker price is lower.
- Choose your preferred format. Select a confirmed physical SKU if you need a disc or cartridge; select digital if account convenience and immediate access matter more.
- Map the three components to your library. Record which of 1.5+2.5, 2.8, and III + Re Mind you already own on the same account and platform.
- Test discount eligibility. Use the store account that owns the qualifying cloud, PS4, or Xbox One titles, and look for the 50% owner offer where applicable.
- Check the live regional listing. Verify currency, tax, release status, format, edition name, and stock. The US prices shown in the table are historical snapshots, not a permanent worldwide price.
- Use the Keyblade only as a tie-breaker. Long Night, Midnight Blue, Phantom Green, and Dead of Night are platform-specific bonuses. They should not outweigh portability, your existing purchases, or a confirmed owner discount.
Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
Mistaking the movie compilations for playable games
1.5+2.5 contains four playable games plus the 358/2 Days and Re:coded movies. 2.8 contains Dream Drop Distance HD, 0.2, and the χ Back Cover movie. If you are estimating how much interactive content you receive, count the movies as cinematic story material rather than additional games.
Assuming the package contains every Kingdom Hearts release
The official component list does not name Melody of Memory or every other product in the franchise. If a specific missing title matters to your play order, verify that title separately instead of inferring inclusion from the [I~III] label.
Buying a cloud or last-generation entitlement by accident
Store search results can surface Switch Cloud, PS4, Xbox One, and current-generation editions together. Read the platform line and edition name in the product page. A qualifying older digital owner may receive a discount, but that does not mean the older version is the same product as the current collection.

Assuming a physical Switch 2 copy from a digital listing
Square Enix lists physical and digital Switch 2 availability, while the cited US Nintendo page is digital. Treat those as separate checks: confirm the retailer’s format, region, and stock before ordering.
Comparing an old price with today’s checkout total
Prices, inventory, discounts, and bonus offers can change. The PlayStation and Xbox US listings showed $74.99 at the time checked, but a sale, tax, currency conversion, or regional catalogue can produce a different total. Use the amount shown immediately before payment.

First-time player seeking the broadest single purchase
Buy Collection [I~III] on the platform you use most, provided the live listing confirms the three components. You receive the four playable 1.5+2.5 games, the playable portions of 2.8, the story movies, and KINGDOM HEARTS III with Re Mind without assembling separate packages.
Player who owns one older digital component
Do not immediately repurchase the bundle. Check the store’s owner-discount screen first. Depending on the qualifying title and platform, the listed 50% offer may apply to the bundle or a missing component.
Collector who wants a physical copy
Prioritize PS5 or a confirmed physical Switch 2 SKU because Square Enix identifies physical availability for those platforms. Verify the exact edition and stock with the retailer; the surfaced US Nintendo listing alone should not be treated as proof of a physical copy.
Player choosing between console ecosystems
Compare controller familiarity, where your existing digital purchases live, and whether portability or Xbox Play Anywhere matters. The four platform Keyblades are minor tie-breakers, while account compatibility and duplicate ownership affect the real cost.
