Choose a Hisense UR8S size from your normal eye-to-screen distance, then confirm that the exact regional model fits your wall or furniture and can be delivered through your home. Room width alone is not a reliable way to select a diagonal. Measure from the viewer’s eye position to the screen plane, shortlist only the UR8S sizes sold in your country, and compare their physical dimensions and immersion at that seat.
Hisense does not publish a UR8S-specific viewing-distance chart on the manufacturer pages reviewed here. The method below is therefore practical room-planning guidance, not an official Hisense distance-per-inch recommendation.
Start with the seat, not the wall
The important measurement is the distance from a viewer’s eyes to the front plane of the television. Measure from the usual seated eye position to where the display surface will be, whether that is a wall mount or the front edge of a console. If several people watch regularly, measure the normal positions for all of them rather than checking only the closest seat.
At one fixed distance, a larger diagonal occupies more of your field of view and feels more immersive; a smaller one leaves more visual space around the picture. Neither preference is universally correct. The right choice is the largest locally available UR8S that your seating, furniture, installation route and budget can support without making the image uncomfortable for the people who use the room.

Which UR8S sizes are actually sold where you live?
UR8S availability is regional. Do not assume that a size listed on an overseas page can be ordered in your country, or that the model name has the same suffix. Check the local Hisense site, the exact product sheet and an authorized retailer before treating a diagonal as an option.

Hisense Global announced that its complete 2026 RGB MiniLED family spans 55 to 116 inches and includes UR8S and UR9S models. That is a range-wide statement, not a UR8S size list; it should not be read as proof that every UR8S diagonal from 55 through 116 inches is available.
Before buying, record the exact model suffix, screen size, retailer’s country and warranty provider. A 75-inch UR8S in one region can have a different specification sheet, connector configuration or included stand from a similarly named television elsewhere.

A repeatable room-sizing method
1. Measure eye-to-screen distance
- Sit in the position used most often for television viewing.
- Have someone measure from approximately eye level to the planned screen plane. For a wall mount, use the wall position; for a console, use the television’s front face rather than the back of the cabinet.
- Repeat the measurement at other regular seats. Note the closest and farthest normal positions.
This measurement is more useful than the room’s overall length because unused space behind or beside the sofa does not change the angular size of the image.
2. Restrict the shortlist to local diagonals
Write down only the sizes that your country’s current Hisense page or retailer actually lists. For example, the Middle East page shows 65, 75 and 85 inches, while the Australian and US pages show 55 through 100 inches in the combinations listed above. If a size is absent locally, treat it as unavailable until a seller confirms a current, region-correct model.
3. Check the whole cabinet and stand, not just the diagonal
Diagonal is measured corner to corner and does not tell you the outer width, height, bezel depth or stand footprint. Open the size-specific specification sheet for each candidate and compare:
- Overall cabinet width and height, including the stand when it is fitted.
- Depth with the stand and depth without it if you plan to wall-mount.
- Stand width, leg spacing and the console’s usable load area.
- Mounting pattern, television weight and wall construction if mounting is planned.
- Clearance above, below and around the set for ventilation, cables and other equipment.
Do not substitute dimensions from another diagonal or another country’s product page. A model suffix can identify a regional variant with different mechanical details.

4. Mock up the candidates at the intended height
Use removable painter’s tape to outline the approximate screen width and height on the wall, or cut a cardboard rectangle to the dimensions in the product sheet. Sit in the normal positions and look at the mock-up for several minutes. This exposes problems that a tape measure misses, such as a screen dominating a narrow viewing angle, blocking a soundbar, or sitting too high above the sofa.
5. Decide how immersive you want the picture to feel
At the same seat, the larger candidate will look larger; that is geometry, not a manufacturer performance claim. Sports, films and games often suit a more expansive view, while a mixed-use room may be more comfortable with a restrained size. Use the mock-up and your closest regular seat to decide rather than applying an unofficial “inches per foot” rule.
6. Confirm access, delivery and service
Measure doorways, stair turns, elevator openings and the path from the delivery vehicle to the room. A television can fit the destination wall yet fail to pass through a hallway or turn on a staircase. Ask the seller how the set is packaged, whether two-person or professional installation is required, and who handles damage claims. For 85- and 100-inch choices, these logistics deserve the same attention as the wall measurement.
How to compare two sizes at the same distance
When two UR8S diagonals both fit the room, compare them using the same seat and the same installation position. The following framework keeps the decision grounded in measurable constraints.

If the larger screen fails any physical or service check, choose the smaller one even if the wall has room. If both pass, let the mock-up and your preferred field of view decide; there is no sourced universal UR8S winner for a given distance.
Do not merge regional specifications into one “universal” UR8S
Manufacturer pages describe related televisions differently by market. Use the specification for the exact unit you can buy rather than combining the strongest number from each country.

Hisense’s Middle East page says: “Our RGB MiniLED technology delivers colour right at the source, achieving up to 100% of BT.2020 colour coverage* for richer, more accurate tones in every scene.” This is manufacturer copy with the page’s asterisk and context, not an independent measurement. These performance claims can help you understand the product positioning, but they should not determine the physical diagonal before the room and installation checks are complete.

Choosing among common room situations
Small room or close seating
Start with the nearest normal eye position and make the tape outline at the intended height. A 55- or 65-inch option may be easier to integrate than a larger model if the mock-up fills too much of the viewer’s sightline or leaves no space for a soundbar and equipment. Do not choose solely because a larger diagonal is listed on an overseas page.

Measure the actual sofa position rather than the room’s longest dimension. A larger locally available diagonal may provide the immersion you want at that seat, but check the far wall, viewing height and cable route. If the room has multiple seating zones, test the closest regular seat as well as the main sofa.
Large media room
Compare 75-, 85- and, where sold, 100-inch candidates using full-size mock-ups and the exact cabinet drawings. The Australian and US pages include a 100-inch option; India and the Middle East pages cited here do not list one. Confirm delivery access before paying for a large set.
Mixed viewing and varied seating
Choose the size that remains comfortable from the closest frequently used seat while still readable from the farthest. Mark both positions on the floor, keep the screen height constant and view the mock-up from each. This avoids optimizing for an occasional seat that does not represent normal use.
Wall mounting, console placement and ventilation
A wall mount is not automatically compatible because the screen is the right size. Before ordering one, verify the UR8S model’s VESA pattern, weight with and without the stand, the mount’s load rating and the wall’s construction. The available product pages do not establish one mount specification for every size or region, so use the exact model documentation.

Check that the feet sit completely on the surface, that the television cannot be knocked forward, and that vents and cable connectors remain clear. Leave the manufacturer’s required ventilation space; do not infer it from another size.
Set the viewing height from seated eye level and the room’s main sightline. A screen that technically fits can still be uncomfortable if its center is too high, especially above a tall cabinet or fireplace. Mock up the top and bottom edges before drilling.

Costs beyond the sticker price
Compare the complete delivered cost, not just the television listing. A larger UR8S may require a different delivery tier, extra handling, professional installation or a stronger wall-mount solution. Add those charges to the set price before comparing a 75-inch option with an 85- or 100-inch option.
Ask whether delivery is to the room or only to the building entrance, whether unpacking and inspection are included, and how long you have to report shipping damage. Keep the carton and packing materials until the television has been tested. Confirm who pays for a return when the wrong regional suffix, a damaged panel or an incorrect stand is supplied.

Warranty terms also belong in the size decision. Verify the warranty provider, service area, labor coverage, panel coverage and whether installation by an approved technician is required. A cheaper overseas listing may not provide the same local support, even when its model name looks familiar.
Questions to settle before you place the order
- Will the picture be too large? Do not guess from the room’s square footage. View the full-size outline from the closest regular seat and decide whether the image feels comfortable for your normal content.
- Is a larger screen automatically better for 4K? No universal size winner follows from the resolution label. Size should follow distance, preference and fit; verify the local specification rather than assuming every regional UR8S sheet is identical.
- Can I order a 100-inch UR8S because the global announcement mentions up to 116 inches? No. The 55–116-inch statement covers the 2026 RGB MiniLED family, including UR8S and UR9S. Confirm that a 100-inch UR8 or UR8S is actually sold and warrantied in your market.
- Should I choose the brightest regional claim? No. India lists up to 10,000 nits and the Middle East lists up to 4,000 nits. Those claims belong to their respective pages; use the figure published for the exact local model.
- Does 180 Hz apply to every size? The UK 75-inch product sheet states 180 Hz. Check the size-specific sheet for your regional television instead of transferring that figure to every diagonal.
- Can any universal wall mount fit? Not safely by size alone. Check the exact VESA pattern, weight, load rating and wall construction before purchase.
- What if my preferred size is out of stock? Re-measure the next locally available diagonal and repeat the mock-up. Do not substitute an overseas model without confirming import, warranty and service implications.
- Which seat should decide in a multi-seat room? Use all regular seats, giving particular attention to the closest one for comfort and the farthest one for legibility. An occasional seat should not dictate the entire installation.
A purchase checklist for the exact UR8S you can buy
- Measure eye-to-screen distance from every normal viewing position.
- Confirm the diagonal is listed for your country and record the complete model suffix.
- Download the local size-specific product sheet.
- Compare cabinet width, height, depth, stand footprint and weight.
- Mock up the screen at its planned height and test the closest regular seat.
- Check wall construction, VESA data and mount load rating if mounting.
- Measure doors, stairs, lifts and corridors for the packaged television.
- Confirm local price, delivery, installation, warranty and damage-claim procedures.
- Read the local specification for resolution, refresh rate, brightness and other features instead of importing figures from another region.
- Keep the retailer’s model number and product sheet with your order confirmation.
What the evidence does—and does not—establish
The official pages establish that UR8S-branded televisions are offered in different diagonals by market, but they do not provide a single UR8S ideal viewing distance. They also show regional differences in how resolution and brightness are presented. Consequently, a responsible recommendation can identify the correct decision process and local shortlist, not declare that one size is always right at a particular number of feet or metres.
Use the local model page as the final authority for dimensions and features. The India, Australia, US and Middle East pages may be updated independently, and the UK sheet represents a specific 75-inch regional product. Treat each number as belonging to the market and model that published it.
Final decision rule
First eliminate every size that is not locally sold, cannot pass through the home, exceeds the furniture or wall’s safe capacity, or lacks acceptable warranty support. From the remaining UR8S diagonals, compare full-size outlines from the closest and farthest regular seats. Choose the larger option only when its field of view is comfortable, its cabinet and stand fit, installation is safe, and the complete delivered cost is acceptable. Otherwise, the smaller diagonal is the better choice, regardless of how impressive the larger number looks on a product page.

Which UR8S sizes are available?
Availability depends on market. India lists 55, 65, 75 and 85 inches; Australia and the United States list 55, 65, 75, 85 and 100 inches; the Middle East page lists 65, 75 and 85 inches. Confirm current local stock and the full model suffix.
Does Hisense sell a 116-inch UR8S?
The 55–116-inch figure announced by Hisense Global describes the entire 2026 RGB MiniLED family, including UR8S and UR9S. It is not a complete UR8S size list. Check your local Hisense page for an actual purchasable model.
Why do brightness figures differ between countries?
