There is no universally best hero selector choice in Seven Knights Re:Birth. The correct pick depends on two facts: the exact selector item and the role your account is missing. Open the selector, read its full item name, inspect the heroes it actually offers, then choose a hero that improves your main activity without duplicating a role you already cover.
For a new account focused on broad PvE farming, current guidance points to Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, or Mercure as a shortlist when they appear in the available pool. Vanessa and Kagura are versatile support alternatives for accounts that already have enough damage. These are conditional recommendations, not a permanent ranking: eligibility, game mode, and the rest of your roster decide the result.

- Confirm the exact item name. “Legendary Hero Selector,” “Legendary Hero Selector II,” “Legendary Hero Ticket II,” and other tickets can have different pools.
- Read the in-game eligible-hero screen. The list shown by your own selector is the final authority; do not assume that another selector has the same heroes.
- Identify your main need. Early accounts usually benefit most from a reliable area-damage farmer. Established accounts may need support, a mode-specific specialist, or a different role entirely.
- Compare the shortlist with your current roster. A new hero that fills a missing role is normally more useful than a second hero performing the same job, unless you are deliberately building a specialized team.
GameWith’s guide updated October 12, 2026, names Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, and Mercure among strong area attackers and specifically highlights Teo for farming. The same guide identifies Vanessa and Kagura as versatile support choices. Select one only when the hero appears in your selector and matches your account’s needs.

Why the selector’s name matters
Selectors are item-specific
A ticket’s title is not cosmetic. Netmarble’s September 2, 2026 update added Hayeon to several named items: Tower of Trials Hero Ticket, Tower of Trials Hero Ticket II, Legendary Hero Selector, Legendary Hero Ticket II, Rare–Legendary Hero Ticket II, Legendary Hero Selector II, and Legendary Hero Ticket III. That notice demonstrates that eligibility is maintained per item rather than through one universal list.
The update does not prove that every selector now includes Hayeon, nor does it publish a complete current pool for every ticket. Before spending anything, tap the selector and scroll through its complete list. If the hero is absent from that screen, the hero cannot be selected from that item, regardless of what a tier list or older guide says.
Distinguish selectors from tickets
Two items can both let you choose a hero while offering different rarity ranges or different release cutoffs. Record the complete label exactly as displayed, including numerals such as “II” or “III” and any rarity wording. When asking for account advice, provide a screenshot or the exact label; “legendary selector” alone may be ambiguous.
Check the list immediately before confirming
Hero pools can change after updates, events, or distribution campaigns. The selection screen is more current than a saved image or a community comment. Check every page of the list, including pages that require horizontal swiping or a second tab, and verify that the confirmation preview shows the intended hero before pressing the final button.
Choose according to what you actually play
Pocket Gamer’s tier list dated October 3, 2026 (version 1.29.03) rates heroes separately for PvE, PvP, Raid, Castle, and Advent. That separation is important: a hero that is excellent in one activity is not automatically the best choice for all five. The same source says rerolling is not required for normal progression and warns that the meta can change.
General PvE and stage farming
If your priority is clearing ordinary stages, resource maps, or repeatable farming content, start by looking for an area attacker. Broad damage lets a developing account clear groups quickly and reduces the time spent on routine runs. Teo, Yeonhee, Rin, and Mercure are the current broad-PvE shortlist from GameWith’s October 12 guide, with Teo singled out for farming.
Do not treat that list as an automatic order. If Teo is missing from your selector but Yeonhee is present, Yeonhee may be the practical choice. If you already own one of these attackers, inspect whether the remaining options fill a support or defensive gap before taking a duplicate role.

PvP
For player-versus-player modes, use the PvP column of a current tier list and examine your team’s actual weakness. PvP value can depend on speed, control, survivability, or a particular counter rather than simple area damage. The available evidence does not establish one universal PvP winner for every selector, so avoid selecting a PvE farmer solely because it is popular in reroll discussions.
Raid
Raid teams often reward focused damage, durability, or utility that differs from stage farming. Check the Raid rating for each eligible hero and compare it with the role your current raid team lacks. If your account already clears raids comfortably but struggles with ordinary stages, a raid specialist may provide less immediate value than a general farmer.
Castle and Advent
Castle and Advent are also evaluated separately in the October 3 tier list. Treat them as distinct targets: first decide whether you are choosing for those activities or for general progression, then filter the selector list accordingly. When no eligible hero is clearly superior for your chosen activity, select the option that improves your weakest role across the largest number of modes.
When you simply want steady progression
You do not need to delay normal play while waiting for a perfect reroll. Pocket Gamer’s guidance is that rerolling is not essential for ordinary progression. A selector should solve a real roster problem, not create anxiety about finding a mythical all-mode answer.
Current candidates and the role each one can fill
The names below are a decision shortlist, not a promise that every selector contains them. Confirm eligibility first.
Teo
Teo is the clearest first check for an account that needs a general PvE farmer. GameWith specifically calls out Teo’s farming capability and places him among its recommended area attackers. Choose him when he appears in your list, you lack a dependable broad-damage carry, and stage or resource farming is your immediate bottleneck.
Do not choose Teo automatically if you already have a farmer who clears your routine content efficiently. In that situation, compare the other eligible heroes for support, survivability, or a mode where your account is weaker.

Yeonhee
Yeonhee is another area-attacker option in the October 12 GameWith shortlist. She is a sensible alternative when Teo is not in the selector or when your list includes Yeonhee but not the other recommended farmers. Her value is greatest when your account needs broad PvE damage rather than a narrowly specialized pick.

Rin appears in the same broad area-attacker group. Consider Rin when she is eligible and your progression problem is slow group clearing. Her presence in the shortlist does not make her the correct answer for an account that already has sufficient damage or is choosing specifically for a different mode.
Mercure
Mercure is also identified by GameWith as a strong area attacker. Treat Mercure as a conditional farming candidate: verify that the selector includes him, then compare him with the other eligible attackers and with any support your roster lacks. The best choice is the one that changes your current bottleneck, not the name with the broadest reputation.
Vanessa
Vanessa is listed by GameWith as a versatile support choice. Support can be the higher-value selection when your account already has multiple damage dealers but lacks the utility needed to keep teams stable or improve their overall performance. The source supports Vanessa as a broad recommendation, not as a mandatory pick for every account.
Kagura
Kagura is another versatile support named in the same guide. Compare Kagura with Vanessa and with every eligible damage dealer in your selector. If your teams already survive and clear comfortably, support may add less than a specialist for your main mode; if your carries fail because the team cannot function around them, a support pick can be the more consequential upgrade.
Audit your roster before choosing
Write down what your current teams can and cannot do. A quick audit prevents a popular name from turning into a low-impact duplicate.
- Damage: Can one team clear groups quickly, or do routine stages stall because enemies survive too long?
- Support: Do you have the utility needed to keep your damage dealers operating consistently?
- Frontline and survival: Does your team fail because it cannot stay alive long enough to use its damage?
- Mode coverage: Which of PvE, PvP, Raid, Castle, or Advent is currently limiting your progress?
- Duplication: Would the selector add a genuinely new role, or another hero whose job is already covered?
- Investment: Can you realistically build and use the selected hero with your current resources?
Use the answers to define one sentence such as “I need a broad farmer,” “I need support to stabilize my teams,” or “I need a hero for Raid.” If you cannot name the missing role, postpone confirmation while you inspect the eligible list and your stage results again.

New hero or improvement to an owned hero?
A selector normally asks you to choose a hero, but the practical decision can still be “new role versus strengthening what I have.” The evidence does not establish a universal rule that duplicates are always bad or always optimal. Make the choice account-specific.
A new hero has the greatest marginal value when it opens content you currently cannot clear or supplies a role absent from your teams. An additional copy or advancement-related choice can be sensible when your existing hero is already central to your account and the improvement directly removes your current bottleneck. Compare the result you expect in the mode you actually play rather than assuming that novelty is automatically better.
Step-by-step selector procedure
- Open the item details. Select the ticket or box in your inventory and note its full displayed name and rarity range.
- Open the eligible-hero list. Do not rely on a guide’s general “best heroes” list. Scroll through the in-game choices and record the candidates you would genuinely use.
- Remove unavailable collaboration heroes. If a hero is not shown, it is not selectable from that item. This is particularly important during collaboration events.
- Choose your primary mode. Pick one of general PvE, PvP, Raid, Castle, or Advent as the deciding activity. Use a current mode-specific tier view rather than an all-mode ranking.
- Identify your missing role. Decide whether the problem is area damage, support, survival, or a mode-specific function.
- Shortlist two or three eligible heroes. Include at least one option that fills the missing role and one alternative that improves your secondary mode.
- Check for duplication. Compare each candidate with the heroes you already own and regularly use. Remove choices that do not change your team’s practical capability unless you have a specific advancement reason.
- Preview the confirmation. Select the intended hero, verify the name and portrait on the final confirmation screen, and only then spend the selector.
- Record the decision. Note the selector name, date, and chosen hero. This prevents confusion if you later receive a similarly named ticket with a different pool.
Collaboration restrictions you must check
Netmarble’s September 30, 2026 notice states that Demon Slayer collaboration heroes can be obtained only through collaboration event rewards or the Demon Slayer Corps Wish List Summon featuring Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma. The collaboration window runs from October 1 after maintenance until October 29 before maintenance, in UTC+0.
That restriction means you should not recommend a collaboration hero from a general selector unless the hero is visibly present in that selector’s list. An event banner, wish-list summon, or community screenshot does not expand the pool of an unrelated ticket. Check the item’s own screen during the event and again after the event ends if you are saving the selector.

A new account with slow stage clears
Your selector lists Teo, Vanessa, and several other heroes, and your teams struggle mainly with groups of ordinary enemies. Teo is the logical first candidate because he is in the eligible list and matches the broad-PvE farming need identified by GameWith. Vanessa becomes the better choice only if your account already clears stages efficiently but repeatedly fails because it lacks support.
An account that already owns a strong farmer
Your list contains Yeonhee and Kagura, while your existing farmer already handles routine content. Compare the mode you care about next. If your teams collapse or lack utility, Kagura may address the missing role; if a separate mode is your bottleneck and Yeonhee rates better there in a current mode-specific list, Yeonhee may have greater marginal value.

A player choosing for PvP
You have adequate PvE damage but want to improve arena performance. Ignore a generic farming recommendation unless it also solves your PvP problem. Filter the eligible list through the PvP ratings and your team’s particular weakness, such as survivability or control. The available evidence does not support naming one permanent best PvP selector choice.
A selector received during the Demon Slayer event
Even during the October 1–29 collaboration window, open the general selector and inspect its list. Choose a collaboration hero only if the item explicitly offers that hero. Otherwise, use the event rewards or the named wish-list summon described in Netmarble’s notice rather than trying to force an event character into a general ticket.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Following an old tier list without checking the patch
Tier lists are time-stamped opinions. Pocket Gamer’s cited list is version 1.29.03 and dated October 3, 2026; GameWith’s farming guide was updated October 12, 2026. Use dates to judge freshness, then verify the in-game list. A later balance update can change the practical order.
Assuming “legendary” means one shared pool
Different legendary selectors and tickets can have different eligibility. The September 2 update’s separate item names are evidence of that distinction. Always use the exact label and the current selection screen.

Picking a duplicate because the name is popular
Popularity is not a substitute for roster fit. If your account already has enough area damage, another area attacker may produce little visible improvement. Compare the result with a support or mode-specific option before confirming.
Choosing for every mode at once
An all-mode answer sounds convenient but ignores how the game’s tier lists are structured. Pick the mode that currently limits your progress, then use other modes as tie-breakers. If two candidates remain close, prefer the one that fills a role you do not already have.
Spending before checking the confirmation screen
Selectors are easy to mis-spend when similarly named heroes or tickets are displayed together. Preview the hero name and portrait on the final confirmation step, and cancel if the item or candidate is not what you intended.
When to ask for personalized advice
A precise recommendation requires the selector’s exact displayed name and your roster. Share both, plus the mode you care about, when asking another player for help. A useful request includes your currently built damage dealers, supports, and frontline heroes; the content you cannot clear; and the complete eligible list shown by the selector.

Community comments can reveal how other accounts solved similar problems, but they are anecdotal rather than authoritative rankings.
How to keep the choice current
- Recheck the selector list after major updates or when a new ticket is distributed.
- Read the date and game version on any tier list before applying its advice.
- Use your own clear times, failures, and team stability as the final test of whether a role is missing.
- Save selectors when you have no urgent roster gap, but reopen the item later to confirm that its pool remains useful.
- Do not infer eligibility from an event summon, a different ticket, or a hero added to another selector.
The most reliable decision is therefore procedural rather than permanent: identify the item, verify the pool, define the mode, fill the missing role, and confirm the selection only after comparing it with your roster.
