Choose the SCUF Omega if you want the greatest number of physical controls and Bluetooth. Choose the Razer Raiju V3 Pro if you prefer four removable mouse-click back buttons, supplied alternate stick caps, a longer stated battery estimate, and documented high-rate polling for PC. Both are officially licensed PS5 performance controllers, neither has haptic feedback, and the available evidence does not establish a universal winner for comfort, accuracy, latency, or durability.
The short answer
The SCUF Omega and Razer Raiju V3 Pro target the same player: someone who wants faster access to actions in shooters such as Call of Duty: Warzone or Apex Legends without taking a thumb off an analog stick. They are premium, officially licensed PS5 controllers rather than ordinary DualSense alternatives, but their control layouts and wireless features are different enough that the right choice depends on how you play.
- Buy the SCUF Omega when you value the largest number of extra input points, Bluetooth support, and a layout built around four rear paddles, two side buttons, and five G-Keys.
- Buy the Razer Raiju V3 Pro when four removable mouse-click back buttons, two claw-grip bumpers, trigger stops, replaceable TMR stick caps, and Razer’s longer stated battery estimate matter more than having additional physical buttons.
- Do not buy either for DualSense-style effects. Neither controller provides haptic feedback. Razer also says its Raiju V3 Pro cannot wake a PS5 from sleep.
Neither manufacturer specification nor the available independent coverage proves that one model is inherently more accurate, comfortable, durable, or lower-latency. Those decisions require your hand size, preferred grip, button mapping, and connection habits.

How the extra controls differ
SCUF Omega: more input points, but not every key is freely assignable
SCUF and the PlayStation Blog describe the Omega as having 28 total inputs, including 11 additional customizable inputs. The extra controls consist of four rear paddles, two side buttons, and five G-Keys. That headline number is useful for understanding the hardware, but it should not be read as 11 universally remappable PS5 buttons.
#1 Best Overall
SCUF’s manual specifies that, when the controller is operating in PS5 mode, only G1 and G5 can be remapped. Several other G-Keys retain fixed functions. This distinction matters if you are planning a bespoke layout for a game with many actions. You gain many ways to reach commands, but the PS5 operating mode limits which of those commands you can redefine.
The four rear paddles can keep your thumbs on the sticks while you jump, crouch, reload, or change equipment. The side buttons and G-Keys create additional reachable locations, although each player should check the manual’s fixed-function behavior before designing a layout. SCUF’s product marketing describes the Omega as the result of pro-player design work; that is a statement from SCUF Director of Product Marketing Jake Tenorio, not independent evidence that the layout will suit every hand.
Razer Raiju V3 Pro: a simpler back-button scheme with mouse-click actuation
Razer documents four removable, multifunction mouse-click back buttons and two claw-grip bumpers. The arrangement is less numerically expansive than Omega’s 11 additional inputs, but the controls are concentrated where a player using a claw or hybrid grip can reach them. Mouse-click actuation can feel more like a short computer-mouse press than a conventional gamepad button; whether that is faster or more comfortable is personal and is not established by a controlled comparison.
The buttons are removable, so you can change the physical arrangement rather than merely changing software assignments. Razer also supplies alternate stick caps and button covers, allowing you to tune contact points without buying a separate accessory immediately. Before ordering, verify which included pieces match your preferred height and shape; the existence of replaceable parts does not guarantee that every third-party cap will fit.
Which layout suits competitive shooters?
For Warzone or Apex Legends, begin with the actions you routinely need while aiming. If you want separate physical locations for movement, jump, crouch, reload, interact, and ability commands, Omega’s larger collection gives you more places to experiment. If four back buttons are enough and you prefer a clearly defined, removable click-button setup, Raiju V3 Pro is the less crowded design.
Do not choose solely from the input count. Extra controls help only when you can press the intended button without accidental activation. A player with a smaller hand may find a dense rear and side layout harder to manage; a player using a claw grip may prefer the Raiju’s bumpers. There is no published head-to-head comfort test that resolves this for you.
Connection options and practical PS5 setup
SCUF Omega connection modes
SCUF documents three connection paths: a USB-C cable, a 2.4 GHz wireless dongle, and Bluetooth. The company says the controller is compatible with PS5 consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. Bluetooth is the differentiator when you also use compatible mobile or computer devices and do not want to reserve a USB port for a receiver.
Rank #2
SCUF’s manual records testing on PS5 CFI-1000, CFI-2000, and CFI-7000 series consoles. That is useful model coverage, but it is not a promise that future hardware revisions or every accessory configuration will behave identically. Check the current manual if your console is a later revision or if you plan to use a non-console device.
Razer Raiju V3 Pro connection modes
Razer describes USB-C wired operation and 2.4 GHz wireless-dongle operation. The documented wireless route is therefore different from Omega’s Bluetooth option. If you switch among PS5, PC, and mobile devices, count the ports and pairing steps you are willing to manage; if you play mainly on PS5, both controllers provide a purpose-built 2.4 GHz path.
General first-time setup sequence
- Charge the controller with its USB-C cable before configuring wireless use.
- Connect the supplied wireless receiver to the PS5, or connect the controller directly by USB-C for initial pairing and firmware checks.
- On the PS5, open Settings > Accessories > General > Bluetooth Accessories only if the controller’s instructions call for Bluetooth pairing. A 2.4 GHz receiver normally uses its own pairing procedure instead.
- Confirm that the PS5 recognizes the controller in Settings > Accessories > Controller (General), then test every rear, side, or bumper input before entering a ranked match.
- Configure only the remappable controls supported in the active mode. With Omega in PS5 mode, do not assume that every G-Key can be reassigned.
- Run a short private match or training session to check accidental presses, trigger-stop behavior, stick-cap comfort, and wireless stability.
The exact indicator lights and pairing buttons can vary by firmware, so use the current controller manual for button-by-button instructions rather than forcing a generic Bluetooth process.
Sticks, triggers, and physical customization
Omega’s swappable components
SCUF’s FAQ says the Omega’s thumbsticks and faceplates are swappable. That makes it possible to change the contact surface or replace a worn component without replacing the whole controller. The documentation does not establish a particular stick height, a guaranteed drift-free design, or a universal compatibility list for third-party parts. Confirm the exact replacement specification before purchasing caps or faceplates.
Raiju V3 Pro’s TMR sticks and supplied caps
Razer identifies the Raiju V3 Pro’s analog modules as TMR sticks with replaceable caps and includes alternate caps and button covers. TMR is the component description provided by Razer; it should not be converted into a promise that drift cannot occur. The practical benefit is choice of cap shape and the ability to replace the cap itself, not a guarantee of a particular lifespan.
Razer also documents trigger-stop switches. A shorter trigger pull can be useful for firing in a shooter, while a full-range trigger may be preferable for acceleration or gradual input in a racing game. Treat the switch as a game-dependent setting and test it before assuming one position is best for every title.
Battery life and polling claims: what the numbers really tell you
Battery estimates are not a laboratory comparison
Razer states up to 36 hours of battery life for the Raiju V3 Pro. “Up to” is a manufacturer maximum and can change with wireless mode, lighting or other active features, firmware, and battery condition. TechRadar’s June 2026 review reported around 17 hours for the Omega. That is review-reported context, not a paired test conducted under identical settings.

Because the figures were produced by different sources, do not conclude that Raiju will always last more than twice as long. Use them as planning estimates: Omega owners should keep the USB-C cable available for long sessions, while Raiju buyers should still verify charging behavior and the return policy for their region.
Polling figures apply to specified modes
Razer lists 250 Hz wireless polling on PS5 and 2,000 Hz wired polling on PC. These are manufacturer specifications for the stated connections. A polling rate is not the same thing as measured end-to-end input latency, frame-time consistency, or aim accuracy. No independent controlled head-to-head benchmark establishes a latency winner between these controllers.
The Omega’s available specifications do not provide a directly comparable polling number. If you play on PC and specifically want a published 2,000 Hz wired figure, Raiju is the only model in this comparison with that documented specification. On PS5, do not infer a practical advantage from the PC figure because it applies to a different platform and connection mode.
PS5 features you give up compared with DualSense
Neither controller offers haptic feedback. That means games that use DualSense’s nuanced vibration and trigger effects will not reproduce those effects through Omega or Raiju V3 Pro. You can still play compatible PS5 games, but the tactile experience will differ from Sony’s standard controller.
Razer’s FAQ adds a second limitation: the Raiju V3 Pro cannot wake the PS5 from sleep. You must wake the console another way before using the controller. SCUF’s cited documentation establishes the lack of haptics but does not provide an equivalent wake-from-sleep statement in the supplied specifications, so do not assume the two controllers behave identically on that point.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThese omissions are less important for a player who prioritizes back controls and trigger stops than for someone who regards adaptive triggers, haptics, and one-button wake as essential PS5 features. Decide that trade-off before comparing button counts.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choosing for Warzone, Apex Legends, and other genres
For Warzone
Warzone rewards rapid transitions among movement, jump, crouch, reload, armor, and equipment actions. Omega’s four paddles plus side buttons and G-Keys provide more potential locations for those commands, but the PS5-mode remapping limit means you must map within the functions the manual permits. Raiju’s four mouse-click back buttons and trigger stops offer a more compact setup for players who want a repeatable jump/crouch or reload arrangement.

For Apex Legends
Apex players often balance movement tech, weapon swaps, healing, tactical abilities, and pinging. Start with four actions that currently force you to remove your right thumb from the stick. If that covers your needs, Raiju’s layout may be sufficient and easier to memorize. If you routinely need more simultaneous access points, Omega gives you more hardware to assign, subject to its PS5-mode restrictions.
For racing, adventure, and mixed libraries
Trigger stops and alternate stick caps can be useful in a mixed library, but they can also be inconvenient when a game needs a long analog trigger pull. Switch the Raiju trigger setting deliberately rather than leaving it in a shooter-oriented position. Omega’s swappable faceplate and thumbstick options may appeal to players who change physical contact points frequently. Neither controller’s competitive layout makes it automatically better for every genre.

TechRadar’s June 2026 review listed the SCUF Omega at $219.99 / £209.99 and the Razer Raiju V3 Pro at $219.99 / £199.99. Those are dated regional review prices, not live quotations. Currency, taxes, stock, bundles, and retailer promotions can change the amount you actually pay.
- Check the current price in your country instead of converting the June 2026 figures yourself.
- Confirm that the listing is the PS5-compatible model and includes its wireless receiver, alternate caps, cables, and other documented accessories.
- Read the return policy for controllers, because fit and button reach cannot be judged reliably from specifications.
- Check the regional warranty terms and the process for replacing a worn stick, cap, receiver, or cable.
- Before buying replacement caps or a USB-C cable, verify exact compatibility with the controller revision.
The two controllers are both in the premium price tier. Paying more than a standard gamepad is justified only if you will use the additional controls, physical adjustments, or connection options often enough to matter.
What is and is not proven about performance
The available product pages and manuals establish layouts, connection modes, stated battery figures, and feature limitations. They do not establish a controlled comparison of aim accuracy, input latency, comfort across hand sizes, durability, or battery runtime under identical conditions. A reviewer’s approximately two-week Omega evaluation across PS5 and PC is one person’s experience, not a matched test of both models.
That evidence boundary should shape your decision. Select based on documented hardware and your own grip requirements, then use the retailer’s return window to evaluate comfort. Be skeptical of claims that one controller eliminates drift, guarantees faster aim, or is universally more durable unless a source provides a reproducible test.
A decision checklist
- Do you need Bluetooth, or are USB-C and a 2.4 GHz receiver enough?
- Would four rear paddles plus side buttons and G-Keys be useful, or would that many locations increase accidental presses?
- Are four removable mouse-click back buttons and two claw-grip bumpers the physical arrangement you prefer?
- Will you use alternate stick caps, swappable thumbsticks, or a replaceable faceplate?
- Do trigger stops help your main games, and will you remember to disable them for games needing full analog travel?
- Is the Raiju’s manufacturer-stated battery maximum more useful to you than Omega’s broader connection support?
- Can you live without haptic feedback, and, if considering Raiju, without waking the PS5 from sleep using the controller?
- Have you checked the live regional price, included accessories, warranty, and return policy?
Final recommendation
Pick the SCUF Omega when your priority is the broadest set of physical controls and Bluetooth connectivity, and you are comfortable learning which G-Keys can actually be remapped in PS5 mode. Pick the Razer Raiju V3 Pro when its four removable mouse-click back buttons, claw-grip bumpers, trigger stops, supplied alternate caps, longer manufacturer battery estimate, or published PC polling figures match your setup.
At the same dated review price, neither is the automatic value winner. The better purchase is the one whose controls you can reach cleanly and whose missing PS5 features you can accept.
