What the series shipment figure does—and does not—tell you
Neos and Techmirai Holdings reported more than 1.1 million cumulative shipments for the series as of September 2026, including digital sales. That is a combined series figure. It is not an individual sales total for either game, and it cannot be used to infer that one title is more popular or better than the other.

Treating the sequel as only a new story
The sequel is not described merely as another trip with the same routine. Its defining advertised change is the ability to move between an Akita village and Coal Town. If the two-area structure is what attracts you, confirm that you are buying Shiro and the Coal Town, not the earlier Asso adventure.
Assuming more listed activities means more total content
The sequel’s description names more types of daily work, but the available material does not provide comparable playtime, quest counts or completion statistics. Use the activity list to choose a style, not as proof of a longer or objectively superior game.
