If you need a Taiwan IP address, choose a VPN whose app currently lets you select Taiwan, then confirm that the exit IP is recognized as Taiwanese and works for your device and intended service. NordVPN and ExpressVPN advertise Taiwan endpoints in their own materials, but the available evidence does not establish an independently tested winner, Taiwan-route speeds, or guaranteed access to any particular website or streaming catalog.
What a Taiwan VPN connection can—and cannot—do
A VPN routes your traffic through a provider’s endpoint and encrypts the connection between your device and that endpoint. When you select Taiwan, websites generally see the endpoint’s Taiwan-associated public IP instead of your usual IP. That may help when a site requires a Taiwan IP, but the site still decides whether to accept the connection. Services can apply their own VPN detection, account, location, or licensing rules; a Taiwan endpoint is not a guarantee of access to a Taiwan-only site or streaming catalog.
The key requirement is a currently selectable Taiwan exit IP, not a provider’s overall server count. Endpoint availability and recognition can change, so check the provider’s live location list and test the connection before relying on it.

| Provider | What its materials say | Potential fit |
|---|---|---|
| NordVPN | Its Taiwan page advertises more than 100 Taiwan servers and says users can select Taiwan in the app. It also describes dedicated IP and specialized server features. NordVPN’s Taiwan page | Worth checking if you want a provider-advertised Taiwan server selection. The count does not establish speed, reliability, or physical server placement. |
| ExpressVPN | Its Taiwan page advertises Taiwan VPN access, audited no-logs claims, TrustedServer, Lightway, AES-256 encryption, and a 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers who contact support within 30 days. ExpressVPN’s Taiwan page | Consider if its stated privacy and support features match your priorities. Confirm the current plan and refund conditions before subscribing. |
| Proton VPN | A TechRadar comparison includes Proton VPN and broader review findings, but the available material here does not verify a Taiwan endpoint on Proton’s own location list. TechRadar’s VPN comparison | Do not assume it currently offers Taiwan. Check Proton’s live location list before treating it as an option for a Taiwan IP. |
Provider endpoint counts are not a substitute for independent performance testing. The available material does not establish Taiwan-specific independent speed results, and general VPN test results should not be treated as Taiwan-route measurements.
How to choose the right option for your use
Start with the service you need to reach and the device you will use. Then compare providers against the conditions that can affect the connection, privacy, and total cost.

- 【AC1200 Dual-band Wireless Router】Simultaneous dual-band with wireless speed up to 300 Mbps (2.4GHz) + 867 Mbps (5GHz). 2.4GHz band can handles some simple tasks like emails or web browsing while bandwidth intensive tasks such as gaming or 4K video streaming can be handled by the 5GHz band.*Speed tests are conducted on a local network. Real-world speeds may differ depending on your network configuration.*
- 【Easy Setup】Please refer to the User Manual and the Unboxing & Setup video guide on Amazon for detailed setup instructions and methods for connecting to the Internet.
- 【Pocket-friendly】Lightweight design(145g) which designed for your next trip or adventure. Alongside its portable, compact design makes it easy to take with you on the go.
- 【Full Gigabit Ports】Gigabit Wireless Internet Router with 2 Gigabit LAN ports and 1 Gigabit WAN ports, ideal for lots of internet plan and allow you to connect your wired devices directly.
- 【Keep your Internet Safe】IPv6 supported. OpenVPN & WireGuard pre-installed, compatible with 30+ VPN service providers. Cloudflare encryption supported to protect the privacy.
- Confirm Taiwan is selectable. Look for Taiwan in the provider’s current app or live location list; a large global network does not prove Taiwan availability.
- Check the exit IP. After connecting, use an IP lookup service to see whether the apparent country—and, if relevant, city—is Taiwan. Geolocation databases can disagree, so the result is an indication rather than proof of hardware location.
- Ask about physical routing if it matters. A selected country can correspond to an IP registered there while the server hardware is elsewhere. ExpressVPN explains that some of its locations are virtual and does not specify whether its Taiwan endpoint is one of them. ExpressVPN’s explanation of server locations
- Check app and protocol support. Confirm the provider supports your operating system, device, and any protocol or configuration you need.
- Evaluate privacy evidence. Distinguish independently audited claims from a provider’s own descriptions. Read what an audit covers and when it was conducted rather than treating a general privacy label as a complete guarantee.
- Test performance from your own location. Connection quality depends on your network, distance, route, endpoint load, and intended service. No Taiwan-specific independent speed comparison is established here.
- Review practical terms. Compare simultaneous-device limits, initial and renewal pricing, support, and refund conditions. Promotional pricing and policies can change; check the current checkout and terms before paying.
How to get and verify a Taiwan IP address
- Check the provider’s current Taiwan listing. Confirm Taiwan appears as a location before subscribing, especially if Taiwan access is the main reason for choosing the VPN.
- Install the provider’s app on the device you plan to use and sign in according to the provider’s instructions.
- Select Taiwan in the location list and connect. The exact menu labels vary by provider and app version.
- Check the apparent IP location. Visit an IP lookup service and confirm that it identifies the exit IP as Taiwan. If the listed city or country is unexpected, disconnect, try another Taiwan endpoint if available, or contact the provider.
- Test the actual site or app. Sign in and check the specific function you need. If access fails despite a Taiwan IP, the service may block VPN traffic or apply account, licensing, or location rules.
When the Taiwan endpoint is virtual
“Taiwan server” can describe the location associated with an IP address without proving that the physical server is in Taiwan. ExpressVPN says some of its locations use virtual servers, where the registered IP matches the selected country but the hardware is in another country; its materials do not identify whether the Taiwan endpoint is physical. If the hardware’s location matters for latency, compliance, or another routing reason, ask the provider about the exact endpoint rather than inferring it from the app label.
ExpressVPN’s support page reports a footprint of 113 countries and 214 server locations, updated August 19, 2026. Those are provider-reported network figures, not a measure of Taiwan performance. ExpressVPN’s server-location support page

What the available evidence does not establish
- There is no independently tested overall winner among the providers listed here.
- No Taiwan-route speed measurements establish which provider performs best from your location.
- Advertised Taiwan access does not demonstrate that a named streaming service or other Taiwan-only site will accept the connection.
- The provider materials cited here do not establish whether a particular Taiwan endpoint uses hardware physically located in Taiwan.
- The available evidence does not resolve whether these services work reliably from mainland China or other restricted networks.
