Short answer: Start with PC Game Pass if you want a changing, multi-publisher Windows catalog. Choose EA Play when most of your list is from Electronic Arts or you value its eligible game trials. Choose Ubisoft+ Premium when you specifically want Ubisoft’s PC library, day-one releases, early access when offered, and many premium editions or downloadable content. Ubisoft+ Classics is the lower-cost Ubisoft tier for an evolving selection of standard-edition PC games.
Before paying, search for the exact games you intend to play, confirm the Windows PC version and included edition, and check whether your existing Game Pass plan already includes EA Play or the Ubisoft title you want. Catalogs, benefits, regional prices, and availability change.
Choose by the games you will actually play
A subscription is good value only when it gives you access to games you would otherwise buy or reliably play. Publisher labels are a useful first filter, but they are not a guarantee that every title, edition, platform, or piece of downloadable content is included.

This is a practical starting recommendation, not a permanent ranking. A single game you care about can outweigh a larger catalog you will never open.

What each service offers on PC
PC Game Pass
PC Game Pass is Xbox’s Windows PC tier. Xbox describes it as access to a changing Game Pass library and identifies Windows PC as a download platform. The catalog is broader than one publisher, so it is the most natural first check for players whose wish list spans several companies.
Do not assume that every Game Pass benefit applies to every tier. Xbox’s plan comparison distinguishes benefits by plan and says cloud gaming is not included with PC Game Pass. The same page warns: “Game titles, number, features, and availability vary over time, by region, XBOX Game Pass plan, and platform.” Treat that sentence as an operating rule: a game shown for console, cloud, or another tier is not automatically playable on your Windows PC through your plan.
PC Game Pass can also overlap with publisher subscriptions. EA states that EA Play is included at no additional cost for PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Ubisoft games are also available through Game Pass in the circumstances described by Ubisoft Help, but that access is not the same product as the full Ubisoft+ Premium catalog.

EA Play is a publisher-focused membership. EA lists four core benefits: a collection of EA titles, trials of selected new games, discounts on EA digital purchases, and member rewards. Trial length and eligible games are title-specific, so check the current listing rather than assuming every release has a trial.
EA’s FAQ states, “Your membership selection only applies to 1 platform.” For this guide, that means you should select the Windows PC option when you intend to play on PC. A membership purchased for another platform should not be treated as a PC entitlement without checking the current terms in your market.
Because PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate include EA Play according to EA’s FAQ, buying EA Play separately can duplicate a benefit you already have. Confirm the exact Game Pass tier available to you before starting a second subscription.

Ubisoft+ Classics
Ubisoft’s UK checkout describes Classics as an evolving selection of standard-edition PC games. It is the simpler Ubisoft option: useful when the titles you want are in that selection and you do not need the launch-day, early-access, or premium-edition features associated with Premium.

Classics is not a shorthand for the entire Ubisoft catalog. A game can be absent, arrive later, or be offered in a different edition. Search the live PC list for each intended title.
Ubisoft+ Premium
Ubisoft’s UK checkout lists 145+ PC games for Premium. It advertises day-one releases and early access when available, most premium editions and downloadable content, monthly rewards, and Xbox play. “When available” matters: those launch and early-access benefits depend on the specific release.
Premium editions require another check. Ubisoft cautions: “Where premium or special editions of the game are indicated (for example: Ultimate/Gold/Deluxe Editions), editions included in Ubisoft+ may not include all premium content.” Read the game’s inclusion details before assuming that a season pass, bonus mission, cosmetic pack, or other add-on is present.

The 145+ figure is Ubisoft’s current description of Premium’s PC catalog on its UK checkout, accessed in 2026. Xbox separately describes Ubisoft+ Classics as 50+ iconic games in its plan comparison. These are provider descriptions, not independent counts, and neither number should be treated as fixed.

EA Play overlap with Game Pass
If you already subscribe to PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate, first open the EA Play benefit associated with that plan. EA says the membership is included at no additional cost for those subscribers. Paying separately may make sense only if your current plan does not include the benefit in your market or if you are changing plans; verify the live terms before doing so.

Ubisoft games available through Game Pass
Ubisoft Help describes Ubisoft games being available through Ubisoft Connect PC and the Xbox app for Windows PC while a PC Game Pass or Ultimate subscription is active. This does not turn Game Pass into Ubisoft+ Premium. The included Game Pass titles, their editions, and their availability can change, while Premium is the Ubisoft subscription that advertises the larger Ubisoft catalog, day-one access when offered, and premium editions.
For a particular Ubisoft game, compare three possibilities: the title in your current Game Pass catalog, Ubisoft+ Classics, and Ubisoft+ Premium. Check the edition and add-ons in each listing. The cheapest route may provide the base game while Premium may provide a different edition, but neither assumption is safe without the title-level details.
A step-by-step method for choosing
- Write a short target list. List three to five games you expect to play in the next few months. Include the exact titles and, if relevant, the edition or expansion you want.
- Search each live catalog. Use the official catalog or checkout for PC Game Pass, EA Play, and Ubisoft+. A service’s headline catalog count does not prove that your chosen game is present.
- Confirm Windows PC eligibility. Look for the PC version and the launcher or app required. A console or cloud listing is not a Windows download entitlement.
- Read the edition line. For Ubisoft titles, determine whether the listing is standard, Deluxe, Gold, Ultimate, or another edition and identify which downloadable content is included. For EA trials, check the trial’s scope and duration shown for that game.
- Check your existing bundles. Review the benefits attached to your current Game Pass tier. EA Play may already be included, and some Ubisoft games may already be available through Game Pass.
- Compare the term you will actually use. If you expect to play one release for a month, a monthly plan may be more flexible. If you will use a catalog throughout a year, compare the annual price with twelve monthly payments and account for renewal pricing.
- Subscribe to the narrowest match first. Start with the service that contains the most important game on your list. Add a second service only when a specific title or benefit justifies it.
How to verify a game before payment
Search by exact title and platform
Search the service’s current PC catalog rather than relying on a general “available games” article. Confirm that the listing identifies Windows PC access. Xbox says availability varies by plan, region, platform, and time, so a result found in a search engine or a console list may not apply to your PC tier.

Base-game access and premium-edition access are different decisions. Ubisoft specifically warns that an included premium or special edition may still omit some premium content. Open the game’s detail page and note the included edition, season passes, expansions, and other add-ons before you calculate the subscription’s value.
Check the required account and launcher
Ubisoft Help identifies Ubisoft Connect PC and the Xbox app for Windows PC for Ubisoft games supplied through Game Pass. That means you may need to authenticate in the relevant account or launcher even when you start from the Xbox app. Follow the sign-in and linking prompts shown for your region; do not assume that installing the app alone grants access.
Check regional availability on the day you subscribe
Catalog membership is not a permanent ownership license. A game can leave a rotating catalog, differ by country, or be offered on one plan but not another. Save the title page or read the current terms if a game is the main reason you are subscribing.

Prices, annual plans, and regional caveats
The only current numeric prices in the cited provider pages are from Ubisoft’s UK checkout. They are not universal prices and may change with tax, promotions, currency, market, or renewal terms.

Ubisoft advertises annual savings against twelve monthly payments, but offers are subject to change. Treat the table as a record of the cited UK checkout, not a promise of the price you will see elsewhere.
The Xbox comparison page reviewed for this guide did not expose a reliable current numeric price for PC Game Pass, and the EA FAQ did not expose a verifiable current standalone PC price. Use each service’s live regional checkout, including tax, promotions, and the renewal price, rather than relying on an old figure from another market.

Xbox recurring billing
Xbox says recurring payments continue until canceled. To avoid the next charge, use the account’s subscription controls and cancel before the next billing date shown there. Record that date when you subscribe, especially if you began with a promotion or changed plans.
Ubisoft cancellation
Ubisoft’s checkout says you can cancel at any time, with cancellation effective at the end of the current billing cycle. Canceling therefore stops the next renewal but does not necessarily end access immediately; use the end date displayed in your account.
EA membership terms
EA’s platform rule and membership terms can vary by market. Check the current PC membership page for renewal timing and cancellation instructions before confirming payment. Do not infer EA’s standalone price or cancellation behavior from a console purchase.

Which service fits common PC-player situations?
You play games from many publishers
Begin with PC Game Pass. Its multi-publisher scope gives you the widest chance of covering a mixed list, but still verify every important title because the library changes by region, platform, plan, and time.
You mainly play EA franchises
Compare EA Play with the EA benefit in PC Game Pass or Ultimate. If your current Game Pass plan already includes EA Play, the separate membership is usually redundant for the EA collection and listed benefits. A standalone EA membership becomes more relevant when you do not have an eligible Game Pass plan or when the current terms in your market differ.
You want Ubisoft releases as soon as possible
Check Ubisoft+ Premium first. Its UK description advertises day-one releases and early access when available, plus most premium editions and DLC. Confirm those benefits on the specific game page; they are not universal guarantees.

You want older or standard-edition Ubisoft games at a lower commitment
Check Ubisoft+ Classics. It is aimed at an evolving standard-edition PC selection, so it is a better match when you do not need Premium’s launch timing or premium-content benefits.
You already have Game Pass and want one Ubisoft title
Search the current Game Pass catalog before adding Ubisoft+. If the title is included for Windows PC, use that access while the subscription remains active. Upgrade to Ubisoft+ only when the specific game, edition, DLC, or launch benefit you need is not covered.
You play only one game occasionally
Compare the subscription’s current price with buying that game outright in your region. A subscription is most compelling when you will use several included games or a title’s trial, edition, or early-access benefit; it is less compelling when one short session is your only planned use.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Assuming every Game Pass benefit applies to PC Game Pass. Check the plan comparison. Cloud gaming is not included with the PC tier, and benefits differ by plan.
- Paying twice for EA Play. Verify whether PC Game Pass or Ultimate already includes EA Play before purchasing a standalone membership.

- Ignoring region and catalog changes. Xbox states that titles and availability vary by region, platform, plan, and time. Recheck the live listing when you are ready to subscribe.
- Forgetting renewal dates. Xbox recurring payments continue until canceled, while Ubisoft cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing cycle. Set a reminder for the next billing date and keep the confirmation.
- Assuming one platform membership transfers everywhere. EA says a membership selection applies to one platform. Select PC when PC access is your goal and review the current regional terms.
A final pre-purchase checklist
- The exact game appears in the service’s current Windows PC catalog.
- The edition includes the expansions, season pass, or other content you need.
- Your existing Game Pass tier does not already provide the same EA Play benefit or Ubisoft title.
- The displayed price is for your country, includes the applicable tax information, and shows the renewal amount.
- You know which app or launcher will install and start the game.
- You have noted the renewal date and the cancellation rule for the service you choose.
Using this checklist keeps the decision tied to a real PC play plan rather than a headline catalog number. Start with the service that covers your highest-priority game, then add another only for a clearly identified gap.
