There is no independently verified “best” healthtech development company among these seven. This is an illustrative, non-ranked shortlist based on services the firms describe on their own websites—not an audit of their security, regulatory expertise, delivery quality, or client results. Use it to identify candidates whose stated experience matches your product, integrations, and delivery needs, then verify that fit directly.

What these healthtech development companies say they do

“Healthcare development” can mean product strategy and design, custom web or mobile software, SaaS architecture, interoperability, cloud operations, AI, or regulated software engineering. The firms below describe different combinations of those services. The table summarizes their published positioning; it does not rate performance or establish that a particular product is compliant, approved, or clinically validated.

Company Published service emphasis Potential reason to explore
Tarmac Product design and management, custom native mobile and web software, DevOps and cloud A product lifecycle team; Tarmac says its Allina Health engagement built and scaled four apps without Tarmac accessing patient data.
HTD Strategy advisory, product design, custom software, organizational intelligence, interoperability and data liquidity Its stated focus areas include virtual-first care, healthcare payors, SaaS, software as a medical device, and medical technology.
RaftLabs Multi-tenant healthcare SaaS, PHI data residency, audit trails, role-based access, and FHIR R4 integration Its page describes integrations with named EHR vendors and advertises a 12–14 week delivery window for most healthcare SaaS builds.
SanoWorks AI-augmented engineering for early-stage healthtech; healthcare-related compliance and interoperability capabilities The company says it serves teams across the US, UK, and Middle East.
Emorphis Health Healthcare AI and machine learning, product development, cloud and DevSecOps, compliance consulting, EHR/FHIR/HL7 integration, and FDA SaMD development Its stated service categories span software development, integration, and compliance consulting.
Arkenea Custom healthcare and medical software for healthcare organizations, practices, life sciences, and startups Its page highlights FHIR/HL7 interoperability and examples of healthcare software work.
Freshcode Full-lifecycle healthcare software services It publishes a telehealth case study about Hi Rasmus with implementation details and reported customer outcomes.

Company descriptions and case-study figures are vendor-published claims. They are useful leads for a conversation, not independent evidence of comparative quality or outcomes. No common, independently verified score establishes which firm delivers better, faster, or more securely.

How to match a firm to your project

Start with the work your product must do, not a company’s broad healthcare label. A patient-facing telehealth product, an EHR-connected SaaS platform, and software that may be a medical device have different workflows and delivery risks. Ask every candidate the same project-specific questions.

#1 Best Overall
Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Clinical and operational workflow

  • Ask for examples involving the same users and workflow: patients, clinicians, care coordinators, payors, or administrators.
  • Find out how the team will map clinical and operational steps before proposing screens or architecture.
  • Request a demonstration or reference that shows how the vendor handled exceptions, handoffs, permissions, and usability—not just a polished interface.

Interoperability and integrations

If the product must exchange information with an EHR or another health system, ask which standards and systems the proposed team has implemented in comparable work. RaftLabs, Emorphis Health, HTD, and Arkenea explicitly describe FHIR, HL7, or interoperability services. That is a reason to ask for relevant evidence, not proof that any one firm can deliver your specific integration.

  • Define the systems, data flows, and implementation responsibilities in scope.
  • Ask for examples of comparable integrations and how the team handled testing, errors, and changes in external systems.
  • Clarify who owns interface specifications, credentials, test environments, and ongoing integration support.

Privacy, security, and data handling

Healthcare or HIPAA-related language on a vendor page is not an independent compliance determination. Tarmac says its Allina Health work built and scaled four apps without Tarmac accessing patient data. That is a company description of one engagement, not a general guarantee about its access model or a certification of your project.

  • Request documentation of relevant safeguards and discuss contracts, responsibilities, incident handling, and data retention with your legal and security teams.
  • Confirm how access controls, audit trails, data residency, and environment separation will work for your architecture and jurisdiction.

Regulatory scope

If software may qualify as a medical device or otherwise fall under a regulated pathway, establish that scope before choosing a delivery plan. Emorphis Health lists FDA SaMD development and compliance consulting; HTD identifies software as a medical device among its focus areas. Those service descriptions do not establish that a specific product will qualify, be approved, or meet applicable requirements.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Ask the vendor to explain its experience with products at a similar regulatory stage and in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Agree who is responsible for requirements, documentation, testing, and regulatory submissions; obtain qualified regulatory advice where needed.
  • Make sure the proposed milestones account for the product’s actual regulatory obligations rather than assuming ordinary software delivery is sufficient.

Delivery model and evidence

Compare discovery and product strategy, fixed scope versus an evolving backlog, team composition, milestone approval, handover, and post-launch support. Request references or case studies close to your use case, and ask which results can be independently confirmed. Published figures should be treated as claims by the company that presents them, not as sector benchmarks.

Geography and working arrangements

SanoWorks says it serves teams across the US, UK, and Middle East. For any candidate, confirm where the proposed team is based, working-hour overlap, continuity of assigned staff, and the legal and operational requirements that apply in your jurisdiction. A stated service region alone does not settle those details.

What each company’s published approach may help you investigate

Tarmac: product lifecycle delivery

Tarmac describes a team spanning product design, product management, custom native mobile and web software, and DevOps and cloud. Its page says its Allina Health engagement built and scaled four apps without Tarmac accessing patient data. If limiting vendor access is important, ask how that arrangement worked in practice, what access the vendor would need for your project, and how responsibilities would be documented. Tarmac’s description is not an independent compliance certification.

HTD: strategy, design, and interoperability

HTD lists strategy advisory, product design, custom software development, organizational intelligence, and interoperability and data liquidity. It identifies virtual-first care, healthcare payors, SaaS, software as a medical device, and medical technology as focus areas. That breadth may make it a candidate to discuss when product strategy and interoperability are both in scope; the published service list does not establish comparative quality.

RaftLabs: multi-tenant healthcare SaaS

RaftLabs describes multi-tenant healthcare SaaS capabilities including PHI data residency, audit trails, role-based access, and FHIR R4 integration for named EHR vendors. Its page advertises fixed-price delivery in 12–14 weeks for most healthcare SaaS builds. That is RaftLabs’ own, scope-dependent estimate—not a general delivery benchmark. Ask what the estimate includes, what assumptions it depends on, and how integration, validation, and scope changes affect timing and price.

SanoWorks: early-stage and AI-augmented engineering

SanoWorks positions itself as an AI-augmented engineering partner for early-stage healthtech and says it works with teams across the US, UK, and Middle East. Its site also describes healthcare-related compliance and interoperability capabilities. Ask what work is performed by people versus AI-assisted processes, how that affects review and accountability, and for evidence relevant to your product stage. Company-published metrics and outcomes should not be treated as independently verified benchmarks.

Emorphis Health: development, integration, and regulated software services

Emorphis Health lists healthcare AI and machine learning, product development, cloud and DevSecOps, compliance consulting, EHR/FHIR/HL7 integration, and FDA SaMD development. These are service categories, not evidence that a client product is approved, compliant, or clinically validated. Ask which specific team members would handle the work and what comparable deliverables they can show.

Arkenea: custom healthcare and medical software

Arkenea describes custom software for healthcare organizations, practices, life sciences, and startups, and highlights FHIR/HL7 interoperability. Its page names examples of healthcare software work. Ask for references and details relevant to your workflow and integration scope; attribute any client outcome or funding figure to its original source rather than treating it as proof of the vendor’s general performance.

Freshcode: full-lifecycle services and a telehealth case study

Freshcode describes full-lifecycle healthcare software services and publishes a telehealth case study for Hi Rasmus, including implementation details and reported customer outcomes. Its page attributes a testimonial to Nikolaj Hendriksen, Founder & CEO of Hi Rasmus. Treat the case-study results as vendor-published claims, not independent evaluation, and ask what parts of the implementation are comparable to your project.

A practical shortlist process

  1. Write a one-page project brief. Specify users, workflow, target jurisdictions, required systems and integrations, data sensitivity, regulatory questions, and the first release’s must-have scope.
  2. Choose candidates by fit. Use the service descriptions above to identify firms worth contacting, but do not treat the shortlist as a ranking or a substitute for references.
  3. Give candidates the same questions. Ask for their proposed team, comparable work, delivery assumptions, security and data-access approach, regulatory responsibilities, integration plan, milestone structure, handover, and ongoing support.
  4. Check claims and commitments. Verify references, clarify which case-study outcomes are attributable to the vendor, and put scope, responsibilities, acceptance criteria, and change handling into the contract.
  5. Evaluate the actual proposal. Compare how well each plan addresses your workflow and risks, rather than selecting by a headline timeline or broad compliance claim.

Public service pages cannot settle current availability, pricing, contractual terms, security controls, client satisfaction, or regulatory competence. Those need direct verification for the project you intend to build.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
