The right food website template depends on the job your site must do: present a restaurant and its menu, take pickup or delivery orders, manage reservations, or sell packaged food online. Start with that workflow, then choose a platform and template that can support it. Catalog pages show what kinds of designs are available, but they do not establish that every template includes ordering, payments, or bookings.

Match the template to the business model

Food businesses do not all need the same website. A dine-in restaurant may prioritize menus, hours, location, and table bookings; a delivery-focused business needs a clear path from menu to checkout; a bakery may need both local pickup and a product catalog. A food maker shipping packaged goods needs an ecommerce store, not merely a restaurant-style landing page.

  • Dine-in restaurant: Make the menu, location, hours, contact details, and reservation path easy to find.
  • Takeout or delivery: Confirm that customers can place and pay for orders, and check how pickup times and delivery areas are configured.
  • Cafe, bakery, or caterer: Look for layouts that can present changing specials, product or service details, and the relevant ordering or inquiry path.
  • Packaged-food seller: Choose an ecommerce-oriented design that supports products, checkout, and the shipping or delivery rules your business needs.

These are selection criteria, not guarantees about any particular template. Verify each function on the individual listing and the platform plan or integrations it requires.

Which platform model fits?

Templates come in different implementation models. A hosted builder or ecommerce platform bundles the design with an ongoing service; a page-builder library supplies designs for use in a compatible site; a marketplace theme is a downloadable product whose setup and maintenance may depend on your hosting and plugins.

Platform or catalog Best starting point What its catalog supports What to verify
Wix restaurant templates Restaurant presence, menus, and potentially bookings or ordering in a hosted builder. Wix lists restaurant and food categories such as cafes, bakeries, bars, and catering. It describes templates for highlighting menus and directing visitors to book a table or place an order. Whether the specific template and plan support the needed ordering, reservations, payments, or delivery integration, and whether those features are available in your geography.
Wix restaurant builder A hosted restaurant workflow that may combine a site with restaurant tools. Wix describes an online menu, reservations, payment methods, an online-ordering dashboard, and on-demand delivery integration. Feature availability, plan limits, and integration details for the business and region.
Shopify food themes Food products sold through an ecommerce store. Shopify presents themes for food businesses selling products online, including an example of nationwide brownie delivery. Product, checkout, shipping, and delivery-area requirements. Do not assume a food-store theme supplies a complete dine-in restaurant workflow.
Elementor template library Restaurant or food designs in an Elementor-based site workflow. Elementor categorizes restaurant and food designs, including fine dining, cafes, and food delivery use cases, with menu, chef-special, and reservation examples. Which template, plugin, or separate service provides transactions and bookings, plus the requirements of the site platform.
ThemeForest restaurant themes A downloadable marketplace theme when a listing’s stated features and compatibility fit the project. Listings advertise varying combinations of menus, delivery, ordering, reservations, shops, and integrations. For each product, check compatibility, included plugins, update history, license, support, and whether the advertised ordering workflow is actually included.
ThemeForest food templates Browsing food-related downloadable designs across template categories. The catalog spans multiple food-template categories. Whether the item is a theme or another template type, what software it requires, and the individual product’s terms and capabilities.

The descriptions above reflect vendor or marketplace catalog information, not independent verification of every listing. Catalog inclusion alone does not confirm that a feature is built in or available on every plan.

Check the workflow before choosing a design

Open the individual demo and listing, then trace the customer journey from the first page to the action you need. A prominent “Order” button is not proof of a working checkout, and a reservation call-to-action may lead to a separate service.

  1. Identify the main action. Decide whether visitors should book a table, order for pickup, request delivery, contact a caterer, or buy products for shipment.
  2. Follow the action through. Check whether the demo links to a real menu, booking flow, cart, or inquiry form, and identify any external service or plugin involved.
  3. Confirm payment and fulfillment. For orders, establish how payment, pickup timing, delivery zones, and any relevant shipping rules work. Do not infer these from the visual design.
  4. Test the content fit. Check that menu items, prices, hours, location, contact details, specials, and food imagery are legible and easy to update on mobile as well as desktop.
  5. Review the implementation burden. Determine whether hosting, plugins, subscriptions, integrations, updates, or configuration are separate from the template.
  6. Read the commercial terms. Check current price, license, support, update information, paid integrations, and plan limits on the relevant product or platform page.

How to make a shortlist without relying on a headline count

The available catalogs establish that these platforms offer food-related templates or themes, but they do not verify a complete set of 28 current, qualifying products. Treat “28” as a number that needs listing-by-listing verification, not as a confirmed catalog total. A useful shortlist is one where each candidate has a checked demo, documented platform compatibility, and a credible path to the business’s required customer action.
