For enterprise IT teams, the right cloud migration consultant in 2026 depends on the target platforms, workload scope, hybrid-cloud needs, and support required after cutover. AWS Professional Services, IBM Consulting, Accenture, Deloitte, and Capgemini are a useful starting shortlist based on their published service descriptions—not a independently validated ranking. Treat “top” as a fit decision: the available company pages do not establish comparable prices, delivery results, or customer satisfaction.

Which cloud migration consultants should enterprise IT consider?

The five providers below describe services relevant to enterprise migration. Their official pages establish what they say they offer; they do not prove comparative quality or outcomes. Platform coverage and published scope differ, so use the shortlist to identify candidates for a requirements-led procurement process.

Provider Published migration and related scope Platform or focus described
AWS Professional Services Migration frameworks and automated tools, modernization, and services for scale and security. AWS distinguishes its own Professional Services from third-party AWS Partners, which can provide a separate route to technical expertise, industry knowledge, choice, and longer-term support. AWS-focused. AWS migration services
IBM Consulting End-to-end migration spanning on-premises-to-cloud, cloud-to-cloud, and data-center modernization, with public, private, and hybrid cloud scenarios. IBM also presents migration as preparation for modernization and AI-ready foundations. AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud. IBM cloud migration
Accenture Migration, optimization, and managed services. Its AWS group describes work from strategy through migration to operations. Accenture’s official cloud page says it was positioned as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Optimization and Transformation Services; that is Accenture’s report of its positioning, not an independent assessment made here. AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Accenture cloud services; Accenture AWS services
Deloitte The cited US service page discusses migration and app modernization, starting from desired business outcomes and considering cloud-native capabilities. Microsoft technology and Azure hybrid cloud. This cited offering is Azure-specific evidence, not proof of equal coverage across hyperscalers. Deloitte Azure hybrid cloud
Capgemini Cloud transformation across partner ecosystems, with roadmaps covering application migration, application modernization, and cloud-native build. Partner-ecosystem approach; the cited description does not establish a comparable named platform list. Capgemini cloud transformation

How to compare candidates for an enterprise migration

Provider pages are useful for identifying stated capabilities, but they do not answer the procurement questions that determine whether a team can deliver your specific program. Request comparable evidence from every bidder and assess it against the same workloads, constraints, and commercial assumptions.

1. Match platform expertise to your environment

Check whether the provider has relevant expertise in your target platform and any required multi-cloud or hybrid design. The published descriptions range from IBM’s named coverage of four platforms to Accenture’s three named platforms, AWS Professional Services’ AWS focus, and Deloitte’s cited Azure-specific service. Ask for named delivery roles, comparable migration references, and examples involving your architecture—not just a general partner credential.

2. Define the workload scope, phase by phase

“Migration” can refer to very different amounts of work. State which phases you expect the consultant to own and which remain with your internal teams. Ask each candidate to describe its approach to:

  • Discovery, dependency mapping, and migration planning
  • Data movement and application migration or refactoring
  • Testing, security validation, and performance checks
  • Migration waves, cutover, and rollback planning
  • Modernization or cloud-native development, if included

The company pages reviewed describe migration and modernization in general, but do not provide a consistent phase-by-phase comparison. Treat these as questions for proposals, not assumptions about a provider’s standard engagement.

3. Specify what happens after cutover

Clarify the handoff, operational responsibilities, optimization, security work, and enablement of your internal team. AWS describes longer-term support as a potential part of working with AWS Partners; Accenture explicitly describes managed services and an operations stage in its AWS delivery continuum. For any candidate, ask who will run the environment, what service levels apply, and how your team will acquire the knowledge needed to operate it.

4. Test hybrid and regulatory requirements against your actual case

If workloads must remain on premises or face industry, residency, or other control requirements, ask for architecture and operating evidence tied to your geography and sector. IBM describes private and hybrid cloud scenarios, while Deloitte’s cited page describes Azure hybrid cloud. Those descriptions do not independently establish regulatory suitability. Require the proposed design to address your specific controls and responsibilities.

5. Compare delivery and commercial terms on equal assumptions

Ask bidders to use the same workload inventory, scope boundaries, and assumptions when providing:

  • Team composition, location, and named delivery leadership
  • Relevant customer references and migration-wave plans
  • Service levels, acceptance criteria, and dependencies
  • Change-order rules and exclusions
  • Total cost, including the work and operations your organization retains

The cited provider pages do not offer comparable pricing or independently verified delivery results. Do not infer cost-effectiveness or likely success from a service description or positioning claim alone.

When AWS Professional Services and AWS Partners are different choices

AWS presents its Professional Services and third-party AWS Partners as distinct options. The vendor’s own team may suit buyers seeking direct AWS services; a partner may be relevant when the buyer wants a different delivery organization or longer-term support. AWS describes potential benefits of combining them, but that does not establish that every partner engagement includes the same capabilities. Ask who owns architecture decisions, migration execution, escalation, and operations in the proposed arrangement.

What this shortlist can—and cannot—tell you

These five providers are an evidence-backed starting set, not an exhaustive directory of regional specialists or systems integrators. Their published scopes show that enterprise migration is often offered alongside modernization, optimization, or ongoing operations. They do not establish a universal best provider, independent performance comparisons, or which firm is the right fit for a particular enterprise. The 2026 Accenture positioning claim and providers’ service descriptions can change; confirm the current scope and terms directly during procurement.
