Why a defensible top-five list is not available

A certification identifies a defined performance tier, but it is not a substitute for measured results. In particular, contrast affects whether a display can show deep blacks alongside bright highlights. VESA released DisplayHDR CTS 1.2 on May 7, 2024; the presence of a standard does not mean every product with an HDR claim has been certified under it.

The LG is the most directly on-topic named candidate in the available information, but its certification should not be stretched into an unsupported claim about real-world HDR quality. The Lenovo figures describe resolution, speed, brightness, and color gamut; they do not establish HDR certification. How to choose the right kind of 1080p gaming display
Decide whether native 1080p is essential
If you want a monitor whose normal, native resolution is 1920×1080, check the manufacturer’s specifications for that exact model. A dual-mode monitor may run at a higher native resolution and switch to 1080p for faster gaming; those are different trade-offs, not interchangeable descriptions.

Consider whether a high refresh rate serves your games and whether the screen size suits your desk and viewing distance, then assess HDR separately.

Check evidence about contrast and dimming
For HDR, seek independent measurements of contrast and how the display handles dark areas and highlights. A tier badge helps identify a specified certification level; measured behavior is what helps determine whether HDR scenes look convincing. Do not infer either from a headline refresh-rate figure or from generic HDR compatibility.
Verify the exact model and current listing
Specifications, regional variants, retail prices, and stock can change or differ by market. Confirm the exact model’s resolution modes and certification on its current manufacturer page before buying. The cited information does not establish current prices or availability for these candidates.
