On most Samsung Galaxy phones, find your SIM number by opening Settings > About phone > Status information > SIM card status and checking the ICCID field. If you have more than one line, select the SIM or eSIM the carrier is asking about. Menu names and screens can vary by model and software version, so search Settings for “SIM card status” if you do not see the path.
Find the ICCID in Samsung Settings

Open Settings.

Tap About phone, then Status information.

Tap SIM card status and look for ICCID. Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance uses this status screen, while carrier instructions for current Samsung models identify ICCID as the SIM number. Samsung’s SIM troubleshooting steps and AT&T’s Galaxy S25 ICCID instructions provide examples.
If your menus differ, use the Settings search field and search for SIM card status. Samsung notes that menu names and layouts vary by model and software version; the exact fields may also depend on carrier and region.

Choose the correct SIM on a dual-SIM or eSIM phone
If the phone has two lines, the status screen may offer a selector such as SIM 1 or an eSIM entry. Select the line the carrier needs before reading its ICCID; the number for another line will not identify the requested SIM.

Samsung describes an eSIM as a digital SIM, and availability varies by country, carrier, and model. Supported Galaxy devices commonly manage it under Settings > Connections > SIM manager; some software versions use the label SIM card manager. If an ICCID is not shown for the eSIM, ask the carrier for the ICCID associated with that specific line. Physical SIM fallback: check the card or activation materials
When the ICCID does not appear in Settings and the phone uses a physical SIM, check the SIM itself or the carrier-provided activation card. This is a fallback, not a guarantee: printing and packaging differ. Handle the SIM carefully and do not force the tray or insert the card incorrectly.

SIM number, phone number, and IMEI are different

ICCID: the identifier assigned to a SIM; this is what carriers generally mean by “SIM number.”

Phone number: the mobile number for the line. It is distinct from the ICCID and is not a reliable substitute when a carrier requests the SIM number.

IMEI: identifies the handset, not the SIM. Do not enter the IMEI in a field asking for an ICCID. Samsung explains device identifiers separately in its IMEI and serial number guidance.
If the ICCID is missing or the phone does not recognize the SIM

Return to Settings > About phone > Status information > SIM card status and check whether the line is listed.

For two lines, inspect each SIM or eSIM entry and confirm you are viewing the line the carrier asked about.

For a physical SIM, check the card or its activation materials if the on-device field is unavailable.

For an eSIM, or if the number remains unavailable, contact the carrier and request the ICCID for the specific line.

If the Galaxy does not detect the SIM at all, use Samsung’s SIM recognition troubleshooting guidance and check with the carrier about the line’s status.
A SIM number may begin with “89” in some carrier documentation, but that format is not universal; do not use a prefix alone to identify or validate an ICCID.
