You can check your PlayStation Store wallet balance and your purchase history from a web browser, PS5, PS4, or the PlayStation App. They are separate account views: use Payment Management for the amount currently in your wallet and Transaction History for purchases, wallet activity, subscriptions, and charge details. The navigation differs by platform, but the account information comes from the same PlayStation account. Sony’s official instructions are available for wallet balances and transaction history.
Choose the right PlayStation menu
Start by deciding whether you need the current wallet amount or a record of account activity. A balance check tells you how much money is available to spend. A history check helps confirm whether a purchase succeeded, identify an unfamiliar charge, or open the details associated with a transaction.

Browser steps
- Open PlayStation Store in a browser and sign in to the relevant PlayStation account.
- Select your profile icon.
- Choose Payment Management.
- Read the wallet amount shown at the top of the page.
The amount shown is the wallet associated with the signed-in account. If you manage more than one PlayStation account, verify the profile before relying on the figure. Sony documents this route in its wallet-balance and funding guide.

Check your wallet balance on PS5
- Open PlayStation Store on the PS5.
- Press the Triangle button to open the store’s additional controls.
- Select … (More).
- Look to the right of the profile icon; the wallet balance is displayed there.
This is a quick way to confirm available funds without opening the account-management screens. It does not display your purchase history; use the separate PS5 history path below when you need a transaction record.
Check your wallet balance on PS4
- Open Settings.
- Go to Account Management, then Account Information.
- Select Wallet and sign in if prompted.
- Choose Add Funds.
- Read the balance at the top right of the screen.
On PS4, the balance is visible from the Add Funds screen even when you are only checking the amount and do not intend to add money.
Check your wallet balance in the PlayStation App
- Open the PlayStation Store area of the app.
- Open the store menu.
- Select Payment Methods.
- Read the wallet balance shown at the top.
The app route is useful when you are away from your console. Make sure the app is signed in to the same account you use on the console; a different account will have a different wallet.

View transaction history online
Browser steps
- Sign in to Account Management with the PlayStation account you want to examine.
- Select Transaction History.
- Choose the date range you want to search.
- Select an individual transaction to open its details.
Sony says the online view defaults to the past two years. That is the initial display range, not a stated maximum retention period. If the purchase you need is older, use the date-range controls rather than assuming it has been deleted. The detail view may also provide a Request Refund option for an eligible transaction; seeing that option does not guarantee that a refund will be approved. Follow Sony’s current transaction-history instructions for the web interface.
View transaction history on PS5
- From the PS5 home screen, open Settings.
- Select Users and Accounts.
- Choose Account, then Payment and Subscriptions.
- Select Transaction History.
- Choose the account whose activity you need to review.
- Set the date range.
- Select a transaction to see its details.
PS5 has a family-account restriction: only the family manager can view the transaction histories of family members on that console. If you are signed in as another family member and cannot see a child or dependent account’s history, this permission boundary is the likely reason.
View transaction history on PS4
- Open Settings.
- Go to Account Management, then Account Information.
- Select Wallet.
- Choose Transaction History.
- Use the console’s QR code to open the history on a phone or other device.
The QR code transfers you to the online history view, where you can inspect the listed transactions and open individual details. Keep the PS4 signed in while you scan so you can complete the account check in the intended account context.

View transaction history in the PlayStation App
- Open PlayStation Store in the app.
- Open the store menu.
- Select Transaction History.
- Choose a date range.
- Select a transaction to view its details.
This app view is the same type of account history as the browser view; the difference is the navigation used to reach it. The selected account, not the phone itself, determines which transactions appear.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteUnderstand what the history date range means
The online history starts with the past two years selected. Sony describes this as the default view; it does not describe two years as the maximum age of records. Use the date-range selector when you are looking for an older purchase, and check the account selection before concluding that no record exists.
A transaction list is account-specific. A purchase made on another PlayStation account will not appear simply because the accounts use the same console. Likewise, a wallet balance is tied to the account shown by the profile icon or sign-in prompt.

Use history to investigate an unfamiliar charge
First, open the transaction details
Sony says transaction-history lookup is useful for checking whether a PlayStation Store purchase succeeded and for finding the cause of an unfamiliar charge. Start with the matching date range, then open each plausible transaction to inspect its details. Compare the transaction’s date and description with your own purchase records, subscription activity, or receipts.
If the charge is not recognized
- Confirm that you searched the account that was billed, rather than another account on the console.
- Expand the date range if the initial two-year view does not cover the suspected purchase.
- Open the transaction details and record the information shown there.
- If the transaction still cannot be explained, use Sony’s separate support route for unauthorized transactions from the transaction-history guide.
The history can show what transaction is associated with the account, but it does not by itself prove who used the account or which person physically initiated a purchase. Do not treat the presence of a transaction as proof of identity, and do not assume that a refund is automatic.
Family and child-account limits
Family-manager visibility on PS5
On PS5, only the family manager can view family members’ transaction histories. If you need to investigate activity for a child or another managed account, sign in with the family-manager account and follow the PS5 path under Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Transaction History.

Child-account wallets
Sony’s wallet guidance states that a child account does not have its own wallet. Do not expect a child account to maintain an independent wallet balance or to top up a wallet independently. When checking funds connected with a child’s purchases, inspect the family-management and parent account arrangements instead of looking for a separate child wallet.

| If you want to… | Open… | What the result tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Know how much is available to spend now | Payment Management, the PS5 store balance, PS4 Wallet, or app Payment Methods | The wallet amount for the signed-in account. |
| Confirm that a purchase completed | Transaction History | The matching transaction and its detail view, within the selected date range. |
| Investigate an unfamiliar charge | Transaction History, then the individual transaction | Whether the account history contains a corresponding purchase; unresolved cases require Sony’s unauthorized-transaction support. |
| Look for an older purchase | Online Transaction History with a wider date range | Results beyond the default past-two-years view, if available for the account and selected period. |
These are different views of the same account. A current balance does not list every purchase, and a transaction record does not necessarily equal the wallet amount currently available.
What to do when a menu or transaction is missing
The balance is not where expected
- Check the profile icon or account name before reading the amount.
- Use the platform-specific path above instead of looking for the balance inside Transaction History.
- On PS4, continue through Wallet > Add Funds; the balance is shown at the top right of that screen.
- On PS5, open the store’s … (More) menu with Triangle; the amount is beside the profile icon.
The transaction list is empty
- Confirm the selected account.
- Change the date range; the online view initially shows only the past two years.
- For a managed family member’s history on PS5, have the family manager perform the check.
- On PS4, scan the QR code from the Transaction History screen to continue to the online list.
You found a transaction but still need help
Open the transaction’s details before contacting support. The details give you the most precise record to compare with receipts or a payment statement. For a suspected unauthorized transaction, follow the unauthorized-transaction support link provided in Sony’s transaction-history guidance rather than assuming the ordinary history page can resolve the dispute.

Can a gift card help you check the balance?
No. A PlayStation Store gift card can be used to add funds to a wallet, but it is not needed to view a balance or transaction history. Check the existing wallet through one of the paths above first. Consider a gift card only when you deliberately want to add wallet funds, and use Sony’s wallet funding guidance for the applicable redemption steps.
Quick Recap
Fastest route by situation
- You have a web browser: use PlayStation Store profile icon > Payment Management for the balance, or Account Management > Transaction History for activity.
- You are at a PS5: press Triangle in PlayStation Store and choose … (More) for the balance; use Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Transaction History for purchases.
- You are at a PS4: use Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Add Funds for the balance; use Wallet > Transaction History and scan the QR code for activity.
- You only have your phone: in the PlayStation App, open PlayStation Store, then Payment Methods for the balance or Transaction History for purchases.
- You are checking a family member’s PS5 activity: use the family-manager account, because that account is the one permitted to view family members’ histories on PS5.
