Sign in to the Steam account you used to reserve Steam Frame, then open Valve’s Steam Frame product page. Valve now shows reservation holders an expected order window on that page. It does not publicly show a universal numeric queue rank, so the order window and Valve’s email updates are the authoritative indicators for your account.
Check your Steam Frame reservation status
The status check is account-specific. Use the Steam account that submitted the reservation, not a different account that happens to be signed in on the same computer or phone.
- Open the Steam Frame product page.
- Select Sign in if Steam does not already recognize you.
- Enter the credentials for the account that made the reservation.
- Read the reservation section for your expected order window.
- Check the email address attached to that Steam account for reservation, waitlist, or purchase-option messages.
Valve’s October 9, 2026 Steam Hardware update states: “You can now check on your expected order window by going directly to the Steam Frame product page while logged in to your Steam account.” The wording matters: the page provides an expected order window, not a guaranteed delivery date or a public ordinal position such as “number 4,218.”
What the page can—and cannot—tell you
Expected order window
Your window is Valve’s current estimate for when your reservation may become eligible for the purchase option. It is the best public, account-specific timing information available through the product page. Treat it as an estimate that can move as production, cancellations, inventory, or regional fulfillment change.

No public exact queue number
The official instructions do not promise a live numeric place in line. If the page gives you a date range or other window rather than a number, that is normal. Do not infer an exact rank from the order in which emails arrive or from reports posted by other customers.
Email still controls the next action
Valve uses email for status changes and for the later option to purchase. Keep access to the email address on your Steam account, and check spam, promotions, and other filtered folders. A product-page window is useful for planning; an email is what tells you that your status has changed or that the purchase option is available.
Reservation queue versus waitlist
Valve uses two different terms for people who signed up:

A waitlist message does not mean your reservation was lost. It means your signup is behind the initially available reservation quantity for a particular model and shipping region. Conversely, being in the reservation queue does not mean a unit is already paid for or guaranteed to ship on a specific day.
Why two people see different timing
There is no single worldwide Steam Frame line. Valve separates availability by three factors: the model, the shipping region, and your status within that list.

Model
The signup process has separate lists for the 256GB and 1TB versions. A 256GB reservation is therefore not competing in exactly the same list as a 1TB reservation. Comparing screenshots without confirming the model can produce a misleading conclusion about who is ahead.
Shipping region
Valve also maintains separate regional lists. The launch FAQ identifies North America, the United Kingdom and European Union, and Australia as shipping-region categories for the initial process. Valve says it will reach a region’s waitlist after exhausting that region’s reservation queue.

Two people who selected the same model and region can still have different timing if one is in the reservation queue and the other is on the waitlist. Queue positions are randomized within each applicable list, so signup time alone does not establish a precise rank.

How Valve’s launch queue was organized
Valve’s signup FAQ says model signups were randomized on September 17, 2026. The randomization applied separately to the 256GB and 1TB models and to the initial shipping-region lists. Signups made later were placed at the back of the waitlist. Initial fulfillment emails were scheduled to begin September 18, but those launch dates were process milestones, not a promise of an individual’s purchase date.
On October 9, 2026, Valve added the product-page order-window display. That update is the current practical way to check your account. Queue positions continue in randomized order within each model-and-region list, and Valve says it contacts a list’s waitlist only after the reservation queue for that list is exhausted.

Regional details that affect interpretation
Do not use a report from another country as a forecast for your account. Valve identifies Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong as Komodo distribution regions and says South Korea shipping would come later. Those distribution arrangements are separate from the North America, United Kingdom/European Union, and Australia categories described for the initial signup process.
If a friend in another region receives a purchase email first, that does not demonstrate that your position changed or that Valve skipped your place. Compare only people in the same model and shipping list, and rely on the window shown after signing in to your own account.
If the expected order window is missing
You are signed into the wrong Steam account
Sign out, then sign back in with the account that submitted the reservation. If you use multiple accounts, verify the account name and email rather than relying on a browser’s saved session. A reservation attached to one account will not appear on another.
The page shows a general product view
Open the dedicated Steam Frame hardware page while logged in, rather than a search result, a cached page, or a third-party listing. Refresh after signing in and allow the page to finish loading. The official route described by Valve is the product page itself.
Your email and page appear inconsistent
Check the date and wording of the message. A reservation confirmation, a waitlist notice, an order-window display, and a purchase invitation are different events. If the page has a current window but no purchase email, continue monitoring the account email; the window is not itself a checkout link.

You changed your email address
Review the email currently associated with Steam and any older address that may have been active when you signed up. Search for Valve or Steam messages, including filtered folders. Do not assume that a message sent to a different address means the reservation moved to another Steam account.
How to monitor your place without misreading it
- Record the model shown in your reservation: 256GB or 1TB.
- Record the shipping region attached to that reservation.
- Record whether the account says reservation queue or waitlist.
- Note the expected order window and the date you checked it.
- Revisit the logged-in product page when Valve announces a change or when you receive a status email.
- Keep the Steam account email reachable and check filtered folders.
Taking a dated note is useful because the window is an estimate that can be revised. It also prevents accidental comparisons between two different reservations if you signed up for more than one model or used more than one account.
What not to use as a queue tracker
- Third-party spreadsheets or social-media polls: they may mix models, regions, and statuses and cannot reveal your private account window.
- Another person’s email date: even a message from the same day does not establish your position unless the model, region, and list status match.
- Signup timestamp alone: Valve randomized the initial order, so an earlier signup is not a public numeric rank.
- Accessory or case listings: products sold separately do not provide reservation information and do not accelerate a queue position.
- A shipping estimate from a retailer: only Valve’s account page and messages describe your Steam Frame reservation status.
Questions the order window does not answer
Is the date a guaranteed delivery date?
No. Valve describes the display as an expected order window. It is not a promise that payment, dispatch, or delivery will occur on a particular day.
Can I see the exact number of people ahead of me?
The official material does not establish a public numeric rank. The account-specific window is the information Valve currently exposes to reservation holders.
Can I move from the waitlist into the reservation queue manually?
Valve’s instructions describe automatic progression after the reservation queue for the relevant list is exhausted. They do not describe a manual queue-jump process.

Does a waitlist email mean I can buy immediately?
No. It means your signup was beyond the quantity initially available for reservation. Waitlist contact begins only when Valve reaches that list after exhausting its reservation queue.
Will changing models combine my place?
The lists are separated by model. A reservation for one capacity is not described as transferable to the other capacity, so use the status shown for the model you selected rather than assuming the two positions merge.
A practical example
Suppose one account reserved the 256GB model for North America and another reserved the 1TB model for the United Kingdom/European Union. If the second account receives an email first, that does not show that it overtook the first account. They belong to different model-and-region lists. Even two North American reservations can have different windows if one is in the reservation queue and the other is on the waitlist.

Bottom line for checking today
Use the Steam account that made the reservation, open Valve’s Steam Frame product page, and read the expected order window displayed there. Keep watching the associated email for a status change or purchase option. Interpret your timing only within the same model and shipping region, and do not expect Valve’s public page to provide an exact numeric queue position.
