The original Silver Cross Cove is a full-size pushchair with a reversible seat and a listed 22 kg child-weight limit, but it is not the same stroller as the newer Cove 2. Which?’s review page covers the original Cove; Silver Cross’s current US product page and 2026 manual describe Cove 2. Their specifications and included accessories should not be mixed.
Which Silver Cross Cove does this review cover?
This review concerns the original Silver Cross Cove, released in July 2025, rather than Cove 2. The distinction matters when checking dimensions, basket capacity, included newborn equipment, adapters and compatibility: official US materials describe Cove 2, while Which?’s product page identifies the original Cove. Silver Cross Canada also lists separate Cove 2 manuals and model codes.
The available consumer-test page for the original Cove gives visible specifications and explains Which?’s test categories, but its complete test score and detailed conclusions require sign-in. It is therefore possible to assess the published figures and identify what to check, but not to report a complete public test verdict.

| Original Cove specification | Published detail |
|---|---|
| Weight | 12.7 kg (Which?, original Cove listing) |
| Maximum child weight | 22 kg (Which?, original Cove listing) |
| Claimed basket capacity | 5 kg (Which?, original Cove listing) |

These are listing details, not a substitute for the full gated test results. In particular, the 5 kg basket figure belongs to the original Cove listing; it should not be replaced with Cove 2’s different manual limit.
How does the original Cove compare with Cove 2?
Cove 2 is a separate generation. Silver Cross’s US product page describes it as a full-size stroller with a parent- or forward-facing seat, adjustable elevation and a separate bassinet option. Its 2026 manual sets suitability from birth to 22 kg or four years, whichever comes first, and specifies a 10 kg basket maximum. Those are Cove 2 details, not verified specifications for the original Cove.

The US Cove 2 page reports assembled dimensions of 32.48 × 23.23 × 42.91 inches and folded dimensions of 12.01 × 24.02 × 27.95 inches. It lists 25.48 lb for chassis and seat together, 17.4 lb for the chassis alone and 8.08 lb for the seat alone. These measurements and weights refer to the US Cove 2 configuration; they are not an apples-to-apples original Cove specification set.
Pushchair Expert’s August 21, 2026 review reports hands-on testing of Cove 2 and a comparison with the original. It describes a two-setting elevation system, a reversible carrycot mattress, updated padding, a one-hand fold and carry strap, and reports weights of 7.9 kg for the chassis and 12.7 kg with the seat. These are that publication’s reported observations about Cove 2, not independent measurements in this article.

What should you check before buying?
Confirm what is included for newborn use
Silver Cross describes Cove 2 in the US as offering a seat and a separate bassinet option. The original Cove listing identifies it as a pram and lists compatibility details, but the available material does not establish that every sale includes a carrycot or the same newborn setup. Check the exact generation, market, bundle and included parts in the listing before ordering.
Check the folded size and lifting weight in your setup
A full-size stroller’s practicality depends on the space and handling demands that matter to you. Compare the folded footprint with your car boot, hallway or storage area, and consider the weight of the configuration you will actually lift up stairs or onto public transport. Do not use Cove 2’s US dimensions as if they were measured for the original Cove.

Verify the exact car-seat and adapter combination
“Universal adapters” does not mean every infant car seat fits. Silver Cross UK support says Cove can form a travel system with the Glide Plus 360 using the included universal adapters, and explicitly says the Silver Cross Dream i-Size is not compatible. Confirm the stroller generation, adapter, car-seat model and selling region together before relying on a travel-system setup.
Compare basket capacity by generation
Which? lists a 5 kg claimed basket capacity for the original Cove. The Cove 2 manual states a 10 kg basket maximum. Treat these as model-specific limits, not interchangeable figures, and follow the manual for the stroller you own.

What does the Cove 2 manual say about safe use?
These are instructions from the Cove 2 manual, not a comparative safety rating. Silver Cross states: “This stroller is suitable from birth up to 22 kg or 4 years old whichever comes first.” The manual also says newborns should use the most reclined position and cites EN1888-2:2018+A1:2022.
- Use the restraint system and check that locking devices and attachments are engaged.
- Apply the parking brake when placing a child in the stroller or taking the child out.
- Do not use the stroller for running or skating.
- Use only Silver Cross-approved replacement parts and accessories.
- Do not treat a stroller or stroller/car-seat chassis as a cot or bed.
Follow the manual for the exact model you have; these instructions and limits are specifically documented for Cove 2.
What is known about price and availability?
Which?’s page recorded historical retailer observations for the original Cove: Natural Baby Shower was listed in stock at £825 and John Lewis at £845, while another retailer was shown out of stock at £895. Those are page snapshots, not current prices or availability. Check retailers directly and confirm that a listing is for the original Cove if that is the generation you want.

The published details make the original Cove a plausible option if you want a full-size stroller with a reversible seat, a one-handed fold and a listed 22 kg child limit. The available public evidence does not reveal Which?’s complete score or detailed test conclusions, so a definitive performance verdict cannot be drawn from that page alone. Before buying, confirm the exact generation, newborn configuration, folded footprint, lifting weight, basket limit and car-seat pairing for the product and region being sold.
