In the United States, Samsung lists Galaxy S26, S25 and S24 phones, selected S23 and S22 models, several Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip phones, and selected Galaxy A phones as compatible with Galaxy AI. Compatibility is not a promise that every feature works on every phone: Samsung says availability varies by device and software version. Check support for the specific feature you want, not just the Galaxy AI label.
Which Samsung phones support Galaxy AI in the US?
Samsung’s US compatibility guidance names these phone families and models. Some devices may need a software update, and the available features vary by model and software version. See Samsung’s Galaxy AI device and feature guidance for the current details.

This is Samsung’s US list, not a worldwide compatibility guarantee. The support page also distinguishes devices that are ready for AI from some that require an update, so confirm the status of your regional model before relying on a feature.
What Galaxy AI features are available on Galaxy A phones?
Samsung’s US feature page specifically describes Galaxy AI on the A17 5G, A27 5G, A37 5G and A57 5G. It names Gemini integration and Circle to Search for those four models. For the A27, A37 and A57, it also describes AI Select, Read Aloud in Samsung Internet, Voice transcribe in Voice Recorder and Gallery editing. Why does Galaxy AI support vary by country?
Samsung’s regional guidance does not describe A-series availability uniformly. The US pages list AI features for selected A models, while Samsung Germany’s Galaxy AI overview says Galaxy A phones do not support the listed Galaxy AI functions, while noting Circle to Search on selected A models. This may reflect regional model availability, feature definitions or the scope of each page. For a purchase or a feature you already use, consult Samsung’s support information for your country and exact model.
What software does a compatible phone need?
Samsung says One UI 6.1 or higher is required for Galaxy AI features on compatible devices. To check for an update, open Settings > Software update on the phone and select the available update option. Samsung notes that some features may be limited on certain models, including selected FE and Tab devices. Its setup guidance is available at Samsung’s Galaxy AI update instructions.

Do Galaxy AI features need internet, an account or cloud processing?
It depends on the feature. Samsung identifies some functions, such as translation and ambient wallpapers, as on-device examples, while automatic formatting, summarization, corrections and image editing are examples of cloud-based functions. Samsung says users can disable cloud-based processing or select on-device processing in Galaxy AI settings, but processing behavior should be checked for the particular feature.
- Internet: Certain functions require an internet connection.
- Accounts: Some features require sign-in to a Samsung or Google account.
- Processing: A feature may run on the device or use cloud processing; check its settings and terms.
- Cost and terms: Samsung describes basic Galaxy AI features as free, but enhanced Samsung AI and third-party AI features may have separate terms or fees. This is not a promise that every feature is free.

How to check whether a specific feature works on your phone
- Identify the exact model. Find the model name in Settings > About phone, then match it to Samsung’s regional compatibility list.
- Check the software version. Open Settings > About phone > Software information and confirm the One UI version. If needed, check for updates under Settings > Software update.
- Look up the feature, not only the phone family. Use Samsung’s feature guidance to confirm that the particular tool is supported on your model.
- Review access conditions. Confirm whether that function needs an account, internet access, cloud processing or acceptance of separate terms.
