Open Google’s linked apps and third-party connections page while signed in to the Google Account you want to inspect. The page lists three different kinds of relationships—Sign in with Google, Google Account links, and apps that can access Google Account data. Select an entry to see its details, then use the control that matches its connection type: Remove access, Stop using Sign in with Google, or Delete link.
What you can see in Google Account settings
Google’s connections page is the central place to review apps and services associated with a Google Account. It does not show one undifferentiated list of “logged-in apps.” Instead, Google separates relationships by what is connected and which side can access information:
- Sign in with Google: You used your Google identity to create or access an account on another service.
- Google Account linking: Your Google Account is linked to an account on another app so Google features can interact with it.
- Access to your Google Account: An outside app has been authorized to read, copy, or manage specified Google data.
Those categories matter because the removal button and the result of removing it are different. A sign-in connection is not automatically the same as permission to read Photos, Contacts, Calendar, or other data. Review the permissions shown for each entry instead of judging an app only by its name.
Before you start: check the intended Google Account
Google Account settings are account-specific. If you use several Google Accounts in the same browser or on the same phone, verify the profile picture or account address before changing anything. Google may ask you to choose an account when you open the management page. A removal made while viewing one account does not revoke access from your other accounts.

You can perform the review on a computer or mobile browser. You need only an internet connection and the ability to sign in; no separate security product or paid service is required.
Step-by-step: review connected apps and services
- Sign in to the account you want to audit. Open Google Account settings and confirm the account address shown in the account menu.
- Open the connections page. Use Google’s help page, Manage links between your Google Account & apps from other developers, and follow its link to the linked apps and services management page.
- Scan each category. Review Sign in with Google, Google Account links, and apps under access to your Google Account. If the page offers filtering by Google product or another type of account access, use it to narrow a long list.
- Open an entry before deciding. Select an app or service to see its connection type, developer information shown by Google, and the permissions associated with it. For data-access entries, open See details to expand the permission list.
- Decide whether the relationship is still necessary. Keep an entry if you recognize it and still use the feature. Investigate unfamiliar names, duplicate entries, abandoned projects, and services you no longer trust.
- Use the control for that connection type. The exact controls and their effects are explained below. Read the confirmation dialog before accepting it.
Google’s labels and layout can change over time. If a button has moved, start from the current help article rather than relying on an old screenshot or a bookmarked internal URL.
How to remove access from an app that can use Google data
Choose this path when an entry appears under apps with access to your Google Account data. Google’s instructions are described in Share some access to your Google Account data with apps from other developers.

- Select the app in the access list.
- Choose See details so you can read exactly which Google products and actions were approved.
- Choose Remove access.
- Read the warning and confirm the removal.
After removal, the app should no longer be able to use the Google Account data covered by that authorization. Google warns that features depending on the permission may stop working. For example, a service that imports Calendar information may lose that import function while other, unrelated features continue to work.
Permissions are scoped. An authorization to use Calendar does not, by itself, grant access to Photos or Contacts. Google may show permissions ranging from basic profile information to reading and copying data, or managing data. “Managing” can include editing, uploading, creating, or deleting information, so inspect the action as well as the product name.

Understand the permission levels before you revoke anything
Basic profile information
Some connections receive your name, email address, and profile picture. Google’s explanation of Sign in with Google says this basic information is shared with your approval and that your Google Account password is not shared with the app. Basic profile sharing is narrower than permission to read files, messages, contacts, or media.
Viewing and copying data
An app may be allowed to view or copy particular information, such as contacts, photos, or YouTube playlists. The details page should identify the Google product and the type of access. Treat a copy permission as significant: the app may have stored information outside Google even after you revoke future access.

Some authorizations allow an app to edit, upload, create, or delete data. These permissions can be necessary for backup, publishing, synchronization, or automation, but they carry more potential impact than read-only access. If you no longer recognize the purpose, removing the authorization is usually safer than leaving a management permission unused.
Sign in with Google: stop the sign-in connection
Sign in with Google is a separate relationship from an app’s access to Google data. Google documents this distinction in How Sign in with Google helps you share data safely. To end that sign-in relationship:
- Open the Sign in with Google section of the connections page.
- Select the service you want to change.
- Choose Stop using Sign in with Google.
- Confirm the action.
This stops the app from using that consent to access or receive updates to the basic profile information shared through Sign in with Google. It does not automatically delete the account you created on the service, and it does not erase information the service already received. You may need to sign in to the service another way, create a password there, or contact its developer to request deletion.

An app that uses Sign in with Google may also have a separate authorization to Google data. Check both sections. Stopping Google sign-in does not necessarily remove a distinct Calendar, Drive, Photos, or other data permission.

A Google Account link can work in the opposite direction from an ordinary third-party data authorization: Google may use information from an account on another app so a Google feature can interact with it. If you want to end that relationship:
- Open the Google Account links section.
- Select the linked app account.
- Choose Delete link.
- Confirm after reading which features will be affected.
Deleting the link can disable Google features that depend on the connection. It does not necessarily delete the other app’s account or data. If you also want that account closed, use the developer’s account-deletion process separately.
Connection types and the correct action

What revoking access does—and does not—do
It blocks future use of the approved connection
Removing an app’s data authorization prevents it from accessing the Google Account data covered by that permission going forward. Stopping Sign in with Google ends that consent for profile sharing, and deleting a Google Account link ends the link used by dependent Google features.
It does not recall data already received
Revocation cannot reliably pull back copies an app developer already obtained. Google advises that you may need to contact the developer and request deletion of existing data. Check the app’s privacy or account settings for a deletion tool, and keep a record of your request if the data is sensitive.

Deleting an app account is a separate task
Closing an account with a third-party service does not by itself remove the Google connection. Google’s guidance says to remove the connection in Google Account settings as well. Perform both actions when your goal is to stop sharing and delete the service account.
Report an app you believe is misusing data
If an app’s behavior appears inconsistent with the permission it requested, open that app’s details page on the connections screen. Google’s management instructions include a Report this app route. Capture the app name, the permissions displayed, and a concise description of what happened before submitting a report. Reporting does not substitute for removing access; revoke the authorization first if you no longer need it.
Check app passwords separately
App passwords are a different credential path from the linked-app permissions list. They are commonly used by apps or devices that cannot complete a modern sign-in flow. If you have created one and no longer use the associated app—or if the device holding it was lost—open Google’s Sign in with app passwords settings and revoke that app password.
After revocation, the app cannot use that particular password to access the account. A revoked app password may not appear as a removed item in the connected-apps list because the two systems are managed separately. Review both settings when you are cleaning up old access.
Troubleshooting common situations
The app you expected is not listed
- Confirm that you are signed in to the correct Google Account; repeat the check for each account you use.
- Look in all three connection categories. A Sign in with Google entry may not appear under apps with data access.
- Check whether the service uses an app password or another credential that is managed separately.
- The service may have removed its authorization already, or it may use a non-Google login that is not represented on this page.
You removed access and a feature stopped working
That result is expected when the feature depended on the revoked permission or link. Reconnect only if you trust the service and still need the function. During reconnection, read the permission request and approve only the scope required for the feature.

You stopped Sign in with Google but cannot sign in again
Stopping the connection does not create a password on the other service. Use that service’s account-recovery or password-creation option, or contact its support team. If it offers another identity provider, choose one only after checking the account and privacy implications.
You want information deleted, not merely disconnected
Use the developer’s deletion process after removing the Google connection. State which account or email address is involved and request deletion of copies obtained through Google authorization. Google’s settings page controls the connection; the developer controls data it already stores.
You see a familiar app with more access than expected
Open See details and read each product and action. If the scope is broader than the feature requires, remove access and reconnect only if the app offers a narrower request. Consider reporting the app when its behavior or request appears deceptive.
A practical review routine
For a focused audit, work from the highest-impact permissions to the least:
- Inspect entries that can manage data, especially those able to edit, upload, create, or delete.
- Review apps that can view or copy personal data such as contacts, photos, or playlists.
- Check basic profile and Sign in with Google connections for services you no longer use.
- Delete Google Account links that support features you have stopped using.
- Open app-password settings and revoke credentials tied to retired apps or lost devices.
- For anything you keep, note why it is needed and which Google product it can access.
Do not assume that a short app name explains its permission. The details shown by Google are the authoritative scope for that authorization at the time you review it.
How do I know which third-party apps have access to my Google Account data?
Open the linked apps and third-party connections page from Google Account settings, select entries under access to your Google Account, and use See details to inspect the approved products and actions. The same page also lists Sign in with Google connections and Google Account links, which use different controls.
