There is no single “new Star Wars game” system requirement. As of October 13, 2026, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer and STAR WARS Zero Company have different PC requirements, while each supports a specific set of current consoles. Identify the exact title and edition first, then compare your operating system, processor, memory, graphics card, DirectX version, storage capacity and storage type with that title’s official requirements.
On a Windows PC, you can collect nearly all of the needed information with DxDiag and File Explorer. On a console, the decisive check is the exact model and generation. A minimum-spec match only means the hardware reaches the publisher’s entry point; it does not promise smooth play at every resolution or graphics setting.
1. Identify the exact Star Wars game and platform
Start with the game title, because requirements are not interchangeable. A graphics card that meets one game’s minimum may be below another game’s minimum, and a console version for one title may not exist on the same generation as another.

STAR WARS Zero Company
STAR WARS Zero Company is listed for PC through the EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Its PC requirements are published by Electronic Arts.
Do not assume either game runs on PlayStation 4, Xbox One or another older console generation. The available platform announcements do not confirm backward compatibility for those systems. Check the exact store page for the edition you intend to install.
2. Use this quick compatibility checklist
- Title: Confirm whether you are checking Galactic Racer, Zero Company or another Star Wars release.
- Platform: Record the precise console model or the Windows PC you will use.
- Operating system: Check the Windows edition and whether it is 64-bit where required.
- Processor: Compare the exact CPU model, not just the brand or clock speed.
- Memory: Check installed RAM against the game’s minimum and recommended amounts.
- Graphics: Identify the exact GPU model and compare it with the listed equivalent cards.
- DirectX: Verify the DirectX version when the requirements specify one.
- Storage: Confirm both free capacity and, for Galactic Racer, that the installation drive is an SSD.
- Performance goal: Decide whether you would accept the minimum target or want the recommended resolution, frame rate and preset.
3. Check a Windows PC in a few minutes
Electronic Arts’ PC-checking procedure for Zero Company uses Windows’ built-in DxDiag tool. The same information is useful when comparing a PC with another game’s requirements.
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type
dxdiagand press Enter. If Windows asks whether to check digitally signed drivers, allow the check to complete. - Open the System tab. Note the operating system, processor, installed memory and DirectX version.
- Open the Display tab. Record the graphics card name shown there. If the computer has more than one display adapter, note each one and identify which is the dedicated GPU.
- Press Windows key + E to open File Explorer.
- Select This PC. Under Devices and drives, read the free-space figure for the drive where you plan to install the game.
Write the results down exactly, including model numbers such as “Intel Core i5-8400” or “RTX 2060.” A generic description such as “Intel processor” or “Nvidia graphics” is not precise enough for a reliable comparison. DxDiag reports installed memory, not necessarily how much remains available while a game is running; close unnecessary applications if you are troubleshooting performance after installation.
4. Current PC requirements for STAR WARS: Galactic Racer
The following values come from the Steam listing available for the October 6, 2026 release. “Recommended operating system” is not separately stated in that listing, so no assumption is made here.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 | Not separately stated in the listing |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X |
| Memory | 12 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Nvidia RTX 2060, Intel Arc A580 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, Intel Arc B580 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT |
| Storage | 50 GB available; SSD required | 50 GB available; SSD required |
Every minimum item matters. For example, a PC with an RTX 2060 but only 8 GB of RAM does not satisfy the listed minimum, and a system with enough free space on a mechanical hard drive still misses the SSD requirement. The listing specifies 50 GB of available space; it does not state a larger installation buffer, so keep additional room for Windows and updates without presenting that extra space as an official requirement.
5. Current PC requirements for STAR WARS Zero Company
Electronic Arts lists separate minimum and recommended configurations, along with the performance targets associated with each tier.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | 64-bit Windows 10/11; Windows 11 recommended | 64-bit Windows 10/11; Windows 11 recommended |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5-8400 | AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-10700K |
| Memory | 16 GB | 32 GB |
| Graphics | Radeon RX 5600 XT, Intel Arc B580 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 | Radeon RX 7800 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 50 GB available | 50 GB available |
| EA target settings | 1920×1080, 30 FPS, Low preset | 2560×1440, 60 FPS, High preset |
Zero Company is described as a single-player game. Its PC requirements therefore do not include an online connection, although internet access can still be needed to download the game, receive updates or use platform features.
6. Compare your PC component by component
Make a side-by-side list rather than judging by one headline specification. Use the stricter result: if any required component is below minimum, the PC is not a confirmed match even when another component is much faster.
| Check | What to compare | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows edition and 64-bit status | The edition must meet the game’s stated version. Zero Company requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11; Windows 11 is recommended. |
| CPU | Exact processor model | Compare against the named Intel or AMD models. A newer model is not automatically equivalent solely because its clock speed is higher. |
| RAM | Total installed memory | Meeting the RAM figure is necessary but does not compensate for an underpowered CPU or GPU. |
| GPU | Exact graphics card model | Use the minimum or recommended list for the specific game. Integrated graphics are not listed as supported choices for either title. |
| DirectX | DxDiag’s DirectX version | Zero Company specifies DirectX 12. Galactic Racer’s table above does not separately state a DirectX version. |
| Storage | Free gigabytes on the installation drive | Both games list 50 GB. Galactic Racer additionally requires an SSD. |
| Target output | Resolution, frame rate and graphics preset | Use the publisher’s minimum or recommended target as your realistic starting expectation, not as a guarantee for every scene. |
Why the weakest component controls the result
Games rely on the CPU, GPU, memory and storage together. A graphics card above the recommended tier cannot make up for insufficient RAM, and abundant RAM cannot make a processor below the minimum meet the requirement. Treat each row as a pass-or-fail checkpoint before considering upgrades.

7. Understand what minimum and recommended really mean
Electronic Arts states: “Meeting the minimum system requirements for a game doesn’t guarantee that every graphics setting will run smoothly.” That warning is particularly important when your goal is higher resolution or a higher frame rate than the minimum target.
For Zero Company, EA associates the minimum configuration with 1920×1080 resolution, 30 frames per second and the Low preset. The recommended configuration is associated with 2560×1440, 60 frames per second and the High preset. These are the publisher’s target settings, not an assurance that every computer meeting the tier will deliver identical results in every situation.
Galactic Racer’s listing provides minimum and recommended components but does not state equivalent resolution or frame-rate targets in the information above. If your goal is a particular frame rate, treat the recommended hardware as the safer starting point and verify performance after installation using the game’s own graphics menu.
8. Check a console by generation and model
Console compatibility is simpler than a PC comparison but less forgiving: you cannot substitute one generation for another. Match the model printed on the console or shown in its system settings with the game’s official platform list.
- Galactic Racer lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Zero Company lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
- The available announcements do not confirm versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One or other older hardware.
If a store page displays several editions, select the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series edition that corresponds to your console. Do not purchase based only on the words “Xbox” or “PlayStation,” because those labels can cover multiple generations.

Both games list 50 GB of available storage for PC. Free capacity is the amount available on the drive at installation time, not the drive’s advertised total size. Use File Explorer’s figure for the specific drive you will select in the installer.
Galactic Racer explicitly requires an SSD for both minimum and recommended configurations. A mechanical hard drive with 50 GB free therefore does not satisfy the published requirement. The information available does not identify a particular interface, form factor or SSD model.
When an internal SSD upgrade is relevant
An internal SSD is a sensible compatibility upgrade only when your current PC lacks a suitable SSD or does not have enough usable space on one. Before buying anything, verify the computer’s supported interface and form factor, whether an open slot or bay exists, and the capacity you need. Do not infer that every reader needs new hardware: a PC already using a compatible SSD with at least 50 GB free passes this part of the check.
10. Intel Arc users: check Resizable BAR for Zero Company
EA advises users with an Intel Arc graphics card to enable Resizable BAR to improve frame-rate performance in Zero Company. The setting is enabled through the system firmware and platform configuration, and the exact menu differs by motherboard and manufacturer.
- Identify your motherboard or prebuilt-PC manufacturer and model.
- Read that manufacturer’s documentation for the Resizable BAR procedure.
- Enable the setting only after confirming that your firmware and platform support it.
- Recheck the game after the change rather than assuming the setting alone guarantees a particular frame rate.
If the documentation is unclear, EA recommends contacting the manufacturer. Resizable BAR is a performance recommendation for Intel Arc users, not a replacement for meeting the listed CPU, RAM, GPU, operating-system and storage requirements.

11. What to do when the PC meets the requirements but performance is poor
Verify the comparison first
Reopen DxDiag and confirm that you recorded the actual GPU, CPU, RAM and DirectX values. Check the drive selected by the installer, because a second drive may have less free space or may be a mechanical disk rather than an SSD. Also confirm that you compared the requirements for the correct game rather than copying figures from another Star Wars title.
Lower the most demanding settings
EA’s first practical advice when performance is poor is to reduce the resolution or graphics settings. Start by selecting a lower preset, then reduce output resolution if necessary. Change one group of settings at a time so you can identify which adjustment provides an acceptable balance between image quality and frame rate.
Set a realistic target
If your PC is near the minimum tier, use the minimum target as the reference point instead of expecting the recommended target. For Zero Company, that means beginning at 1080p, 30 FPS and Low rather than 1440p, 60 FPS and High. A minimum match should be treated as eligibility to try the game, not as evidence that every preset will be smooth.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Check for a single bottleneck
Compare each component independently. If the CPU is below minimum, changing graphics settings may not solve processor-limited slowdowns. If RAM is below minimum, a faster GPU does not fix the memory shortfall. If storage is the issue, moving Galactic Racer to a compatible SSD addresses a requirement that graphics upgrades cannot.
Allow for changing requirements
Store listings and publisher support pages can change as patches and platform updates arrive. Recheck the official listing immediately before purchase or installation, especially if your PC is close to the minimum line. The figures in this article reflect the requirements available for these titles as of October 13, 2026.
12. Worked examples of the comparison method
Example A: a PC near Galactic Racer’s minimum tier
Suppose DxDiag reports an Intel Core i5-8400, 16 GB of RAM, an RTX 2060, Windows 10 and an SSD with more than 50 GB free. Those values meet the listed minimum CPU, memory, GPU, operating-system, storage-capacity and SSD checks for Galactic Racer. The processor and graphics card remain below the recommended models shown in the table, so the recommended tier cannot be claimed from this comparison alone.
Example B: a Zero Company system with enough graphics power but too little RAM
Suppose a PC has an RTX 3080 and a Ryzen 7 3700X but only 8 GB of RAM. The GPU and CPU align with the recommended choices, yet 8 GB is below Zero Company’s 16 GB minimum. The system is not a confirmed match until the memory requirement is met.
Example C: a console from an unconfirmed generation
If the console is an Xbox One, the published platform list for these games does not establish support, even though both titles are associated with Xbox Series hardware. Treat compatibility as unconfirmed rather than assuming the older console can run the Series version.
13. Make the final decision
You can make a defensible compatibility decision when every required row passes for the exact title and platform. For a Windows PC, that means matching the operating system, CPU, RAM, GPU, DirectX requirement, free storage and any storage-type requirement. For a console, it means matching the exact supported generation. Then choose the performance tier that matches your expectations: minimum hardware points toward the publisher’s lower target, while recommended hardware is the appropriate starting point for the higher target where one is published.
If one component fails, do not treat a different component’s strength as a substitute. Correct the specific shortfall, select a lower performance goal where appropriate, or use a supported platform. Recheck the official game listing before installation because requirements and availability can change.
