Starlink availability and pricing are address-specific. Enter the exact service address on Starlink’s official availability map or residential ordering page, then choose Order now. The resulting checkout is the current source for your location’s service eligibility, kit price, monthly plan, taxes, shipping and any regional promotion.
A country-level price list or a quote shown for another town is only an example. It does not prove that service is available at your property or that the same plan, speed tier or hardware offer is available there.
Start with the exact service address
Starlink’s availability tools are built around a service address rather than a country, state or broad coverage area. Two properties in the same region can see different ordering choices because capacity, regulatory status, plan availability and promotions are handled locally.
- Open Starlink’s official availability map or residential service page.
- Enter the complete address where the dish will be installed. Use the map’s address suggestion when one appears rather than relying on a nearby landmark or general postcode.
- Review the status shown for that location. The map can indicate that service is available, that coverage is still being awaited, or that regulatory approval is pending.
- If the address is eligible, continue into the residential order flow. If it is not yet eligible, record the stated status rather than treating the country as fully covered.
An “available” result means Starlink is accepting service orders for that address under the terms displayed at the time you check. It is not a promise that every Residential speed tier is offered there, nor does it establish the final hardware or monthly price until you open the local checkout.

Use “Order now” to reveal the local quote
Starlink directs prospective customers to enter their address and select Order now to see the kit and service breakdown for that location. This is the step that turns a general availability result into a usable cost estimate.
- After entering the address, select Order now for the service option that matches your intended use.
- Note the hardware or kit charge shown before payment. The checkout is also where a regional hardware discount or a “no upfront hardware cost” offer, if any, is confirmed.
- Record the recurring monthly charge and the plan name, speed or priority tier, and data terms shown for your address.
- Check the order summary for shipping, taxes and any installation charge before accepting the order.
- Save or print the final summary. Prices and promotions can change, and the checkout record identifies the offer you actually saw.
Starlink’s residential marketing page has advertised service starting at $55 per month and “No upfront hardware cost in select areas.” “Select areas” is important: the address-specific checkout must confirm whether that promotion applies to you. Do not treat the advertised starting price or hardware language as a universal offer.
What to record from the checkout
A useful comparison is more than the headline monthly number. Capture each of these items while the quote is visible:
| Item | Why it matters | Where to verify it |
|---|---|---|
| Service eligibility | Confirms that Starlink can accept an order for the property now, rather than merely showing nearby coverage. | Address result in the availability map and order flow |
| Kit or hardware charge | This is the principal one-time equipment cost. It may be discounted in some regions or accounts. | Order summary after selecting Order now |
| Shipping | Shipping can change the amount due at checkout and is not established by a monthly plan page. | Local checkout |
| Taxes | Applicable taxes depend on the billing location and are added according to the local order summary. | Local checkout |
| Installation charge | The amount, if any, is specific to the order and any installation option offered for the property. | Local checkout |
| Monthly service fee | This is the recurring subscription cost for the selected plan, not the one-time kit price. | Plan selection and final order summary |
| Speed or priority tier | Different tiers can have different prices and performance terms, and not every tier is offered in every market. | Plan details shown for the address |
| Data and peak-time terms | These terms affect how the connection behaves during busy periods and should be compared with your usage. | Plan description and local terms |
| Service type | Residential is intended for a fixed home location; Roam is intended for travel and mobile use. | Plan name and service terms |
Starlink states that Residential plans include unlimited data, while features and performance depend on the plan and market. Read the local plan description rather than assuming that a speed or priority label from another country applies to your address.
Why prices differ by location
Starlink says residential pricing, promotions and plan availability vary by location and account. Factors that can change the quote include the country’s currency, local taxes, network capacity, regulatory approval, hardware promotions and which speed tiers are offered in the selected area.
That is why a price seen in a forum, an old article or a neighboring country is not a reliable quote. Even an official Starlink page can show a market-level price that does not apply to your property. Use published figures only to understand the range of plans Starlink has displayed, then replace them with the address-level checkout total.
Published price examples (not a quote for your address)
The following figures are snapshots of Starlink service-plan pages accessed on October 13, 2026. They demonstrate how prices differ between markets; they do not establish current pricing for an unspecified reader.

| United Kingdom Roam Unlimited | £100 per month | Starlink UK service-plan page snapshot, October 13, 2026 |
The UK page marked the 100 Mbps and 200 Mbps Residential tiers as available only in select areas. That qualification illustrates why a plan can appear on a national page but be absent from your address’s order flow. The pages do not provide a consistently applicable kit price for an unspecified location; the hardware amount must come from checkout.
Choose the service type that matches how you will use it
Residential and Roam are not interchangeable labels for the same connection. Choose based on where the terminal will normally operate.

| Service type | Designed for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Residential | A household using Starlink at a fixed, land-based service address | Address eligibility, offered speed or priority tier, unlimited-data terms, local monthly fee and installation feasibility |
| Roam | Travel use, including RVs, campers, nomads and people working on the go | Whether the plan permits your intended travel pattern, the included data allowance or unlimited-data terms, and the local monthly price |
Do not assume that a Residential subscription can be moved freely between locations simply because the terminal is portable. Starlink markets Roam specifically for mobile use; review the local terms attached to the plan before ordering for travel.
Check whether your property can see the sky
Availability on the map is only one part of the decision. Starlink says the terminal requires an unobstructed view of the sky and recommends using the Starlink app to identify a suitable installation location.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Walk around the property and identify places where the terminal could be installed with the broadest clear sky view.
- Use the Starlink app’s obstruction or installation guidance at those locations before you place the order.
- Consider the route for the cable, the power source and whether the chosen position is safe and accessible for maintenance.
- If the site cannot provide a clear view from ground level, investigate whether a suitable mount or professional installation option is available for your property. Starlink’s published material does not make a special mount or professional installer a universal requirement.
A favorable map result cannot compensate for a physically unsuitable installation point. Resolve the sky-view question before comparing plans so that the quoted monthly price is attached to a connection you can actually install.
How to interpret common availability results
“Available”
You can normally continue to the order flow for that address. Still verify the offered plans, total upfront amount and installation conditions; “available” does not mean every plan tier is offered.
“Waitlist” or awaiting coverage
The area is recognized by the map, but Starlink is not currently accepting the same service order as an already-open location. A waitlist or pending-coverage result is not a current price quote. Check again through the official address tool when Starlink changes the status.
Regulatory approval pending
Starlink may show the area while noting that authorization is still required. Treat that as a coverage-status explanation, not as permission to order or an assurance of a launch date.
Country covered, address not eligible
National coverage information is broader than an address-level result. If your exact property cannot proceed to checkout, do not substitute a nearby address just to obtain a price; the quote and service terms may not apply to your location.
What to do when the quote looks different from an article or advertisement
The monthly price is higher or lower
Use the local checkout as the controlling figure. Market, account, capacity and promotion differences can all produce a different amount from a published example.
The hardware is free in one place but charged in another
“No upfront hardware cost” is advertised only for select areas. Check whether the offer appears in your own order summary and read any conditions attached to it.

A plan shown online is missing
Plans and speed tiers are not universal. The plan may be limited to select areas, unavailable because of local capacity or replaced by a different offer. Compare only the choices presented for your address.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe map and checkout disagree
Re-enter the full service address, confirm the selected map pin and proceed through the current order flow. If the discrepancy remains, rely on the latest official checkout status rather than an older screenshot or third-party listing.
The order total is unclear
Separate one-time hardware, shipping, taxes and installation from the recurring monthly subscription. A low monthly price can still produce a substantial first bill if the kit or delivery charge is not included.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Understanding the Starlink kit question
Starlink’s support material identifies the Starlink Standard Kit as a relevant hardware package and says its availability can be checked by entering the service address and selecting Order now. The exact kit charge, generation, included components and compatibility should be taken from the order flow attached to your address.
Buying a kit from a marketplace before checking the official order path can create avoidable uncertainty about seller status, current hardware generation, compatibility with the plan and warranty or account transfer requirements. No independently verified marketplace price or current listing is established here, so treat a third-party listing as unconfirmed until Starlink’s own process accepts that hardware for your address.
A practical cost-comparison worksheet
When comparing Starlink with another broadband option, fill in one row for each address-specific Starlink quote:
| Decision field | Your entry |
|---|---|
| Exact service address | Use the property where the terminal will be installed |
| Availability status | Available, awaiting coverage, regulatory approval pending or another status shown |
| Service type | Residential or Roam |
| Plan name and speed/priority tier | Copy the wording shown in checkout |
| Data terms | Unlimited or stated allowance, plus any peak-time conditions |
| Kit charge | One-time amount shown for the address |
| Shipping, tax and installation | Record each separately where the checkout itemizes them |
| Recurring monthly price | Use the local currency and note whether a promotion affects it |
| Sky-view result | Confirm with the Starlink app before ordering |
| Expected use | Fixed household service or travel/mobile operation |
This worksheet prevents the most common comparison error: placing a local Starlink quote beside a national starting price for a different plan and treating them as equivalent.
Final decision checklist
- Have you entered the complete installation address rather than a nearby location?
- Did the official map show current availability, a waitlist or pending regulatory approval?
- Did you open Order now and record the kit, monthly, shipping, tax and installation amounts?
- Are the selected speed, priority and data terms suitable for your household?
- Is the plan Residential for a fixed home or Roam for the travel use you actually need?
- Did you confirm any hardware discount or starting-price promotion in your own checkout?
- Did the Starlink app identify an installation position with an unobstructed sky view?
- Are you comparing the address-specific total with alternatives, rather than relying on a price from another market?
Bottom line
To find out whether Starlink is available and what it costs, check the exact service address on Starlink’s official map, continue with Order now, and use that checkout for the kit and recurring-service figures. Published US and UK prices show that markets differ, but only the local order flow can tell you which plan, promotion and total cost apply to your property.
