Start with NVIDIA’s RTX 50 Series buying-options page, then verify each offer on the retailer’s live product page. Check the exact card model, who sells it, current availability, total price, condition, delivery estimate, and return terms. A search result or “in stock” label alone does not prove that the retailer is selling the card or that it is available at checkout.
Start with NVIDIA’s buying-options page
Open NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 Series page and follow the RTX 5090 buying-options link. NVIDIA’s January 2025 launch announcement said Founders Edition cards would be available directly from nvidia.com and select retailers worldwide. That describes the intended distribution route, not current inventory.
In a search capture accessed October 13, 2026, NVIDIA listed the RTX 5090 at a starting price of $1,999. Treat this as a manufacturer starting-price reference—not a live stock indicator or a promise that every partner model will cost that amount.

Check the retailer’s own results and product page
Use the retailer’s RTX 5090 search page to find models, then open the page for the exact card you might buy. Read its live stock label and delivery estimate. Best Buy’s results captured on October 13, 2026, included multiple RTX 5090 models marked sold out. Its Founders Edition page identifies model 900-1G144-2530-000 and says it is sold by Best Buy; check the live page rather than assuming that status remains current.

Identify who sells the specific offer
On pages that host marketplace offers, expand the offer details and find the seller for the exact listing. A retailer’s product page can display offers from third-party sellers alongside its own inventory. Newegg’s filtered RTX 5090 page showed multiple offers, including high-priced listings; a stock filter or an add-to-cart button by itself does not establish that Newegg is the seller.
Inspect the full terms before checkout
- Seller: Confirm whether the retailer itself or a marketplace seller is named.
- Availability: Check the current stock status and estimated delivery on the specific offer.
- Model and condition: Match the precise card model and confirm whether it is new or otherwise described.
- Total price: Include shipping and any other charges shown before payment.
- Returns: Read the offer’s return terms before placing an order.
Judge the price without mistaking a reference for a guarantee
Compare the exact offer with NVIDIA’s $1,999 starting-price reference and with contemporaneous first-party retailer offers for the model. Partner cards can have different prices, so the starting price is not proof that every listing above it is a scalper offer. A substantial markup is a reason to scrutinize seller, model, terms, and alternatives; the available evidence does not establish a universal price threshold that defines scalping.

For context, Tom’s Hardware reported that US online offers it observed were $6,500–$9,500 or higher. That is reported market context, not a current quote or a census of all listings. RTX.live showed a $5,300 tracker price on an October 13, 2026 access snapshot, alongside 41 of 47 listed cards marked in stock. Those tracker figures are time-sensitive and are not an independently audited count or a guarantee that an offer can be purchased at checkout.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesUse stock trackers as leads, not proof
Trackers such as RTX.live and StockMaid can help surface possible restocks. Follow a tracker alert to the retailer, then verify the offer there before buying. StockMaid’s article says its revision reflects data through September 5, 2026, and reports observed recent restock prices; those are tracker observations, not official retailer prices.

The October 13, 2026, retailer and tracker observations are US-focused snapshots, not promises of current availability. Search pages and marketplace listings can mix retailer inventory with third-party offers, and direct checkout details can change. The cited figures do not establish a seller’s reputation, the success rate of stock alerts, or a universal definition of scalper pricing.
