Check two separate things: whether the installed DCGM or DCGM Exporter version is in NVIDIA’s affected range, and whether an untrusted network can reach the Exporter’s /debug/pprof endpoints. An NVIDIA GPU alone does not establish that either component is installed or vulnerable, and an affected version alone does not prove that the endpoint is remotely reachable.
What NVIDIA’s advisory covers
NVIDIA’s July 2026 security bulletin identifies CVE-2026-47483 in DCGM Exporter. It says unauthenticated concurrent profiling requests can target the /debug/pprof endpoints and consume resources without control; successful exploitation might cause denial of service and information disclosure. NVIDIA rates the issue High, with a CVSS v3.1 base score of 8.2.
NVIDIA cautions that its risk assessment averages across diverse installations and may not represent the risk to a particular local system. Treat the score as a standardized severity measure, not a finding that your server is exposed.
Check whether your installed versions are affected
Inventory the software actually deployed, then compare each component separately with NVIDIA’s ranges. Do not infer DCGM or DCGM Exporter versions from the GPU model.

These ranges and versions are from NVIDIA’s July 2026 bulletin. The bulletin says to refer to the updated versions for mitigation. Before changing a deployment, consult the live bulletin and NVIDIA’s repository for guidance that matches your platform, release branch, and installation method; vendor release guidance can change.
Build an accurate inventory
- Identify whether DCGM and DCGM Exporter are installed, and record the exact package, binary, or container-image version for each.
- Check the host and deployment configuration, including container or orchestration manifests, rather than relying on a hardware inventory.
- Record the operating platform and supported branch so you can verify that the vendor’s update guidance applies to that deployment.
Check whether an untrusted network can reach the endpoint
Version status and network exposure answer different questions. NVIDIA describes unauthenticated network requests as the attack mechanism; whether a particular server’s endpoint is reachable must be determined from that server’s configuration. A version in the affected range does not by itself prove public reachability.

- Review the Exporter service configuration and how it binds or publishes its monitoring endpoint.
- Inspect container port mappings, orchestration services and ingress rules for paths to
/debug/pprof. - Review firewall rules, network access controls and segmentation to determine whether untrusted networks can reach the endpoint.
- Use authorized internal inventory and configuration review to validate your own assets. A generic internet scan is not proof that a server is vulnerable or safe; a nonresponsive endpoint does not prove the software is patched.
NVIDIA’s PSIRT policy states that scanning NVIDIA Product Security production systems is considered an attack. Assess only systems you administer or are authorized to test.

Remediate and verify the deployment
- Confirm applicability. Match the installed DCGM and DCGM Exporter versions, platform and branch against NVIDIA’s live bulletin.
- Update according to NVIDIA’s guidance. Apply the release appropriate to the deployment, following the vendor’s current instructions.
- Restrict access while an update is pending. If you cannot update immediately, limit the monitoring endpoint to trusted management paths as an interim defensive control.
- Verify afterward. Recheck authorized internal version inventory and the service, ingress, firewall and segmentation configuration after the change.
Check for other applicable DCGM advisories
NVIDIA’s March 2023 bulletin describes a separate issue, CVE-2023-0208, in the Linux DCGM HostEngine server component. NVIDIA said a user could trigger a heap-based buffer overflow through the bound socket, potentially causing denial of service and data tampering. The bulletin lists DCGM 3.1.7 as the updated version and says earlier supported branches should be updated to their latest branch release. Check the current branch-specific advice rather than assuming that this historical version is the right update for a present-day deployment.
