To determine whether a racing-game DLC is included, identify the exact game, edition, platform and add-on, then verify two separate things: your account owns the entitlement and the content is installed and recognized by the game. “Deluxe,” “Gold” and “Ultimate” labels are not proof by themselves. The official contents list for that specific edition is the deciding evidence.
What “included” actually means
Players often use “included” to describe several different states. Keeping them separate prevents most DLC confusion.

Check these states in order. An edition page answers what was promised, the account or library answers what you own, the download screen answers what is installed, and the game answers what is currently usable.
Step 1: Identify the exact purchase
Write down all four identifiers before opening support pages or changing settings:

- the full game title and, if relevant, its year or release version;
- the edition name and the store where it was purchased;
- the platform and hardware generation, such as a particular console family or PC launcher;
- the precise DLC name, season pass, expansion, bonus pack or in-game item you are checking.
A racing title can have different contents under the same edition name in different regions, generations or promotions. A season pass may include several releases without granting a separately sold car pack, while a pre-order or physical edition may use a code rather than an automatic entitlement. Do not infer the answer from a retailer headline, a box color or the word “Ultimate.”
Step 2: Read the official edition contents
Open the official product or edition-comparison page for the exact game and compare the editions line by line. PlayStation advises checking the game edition before purchasing additional content; the same practice is useful on every platform.
Match the named item, not a category
Record the exact wording of the included item. “Season Pass” is not automatically identical to “Expansion Pass,” “Year One Pass” or a bundle of individual packs. “Bonus cars” may be different from a full car pack, and a currency grant may not transfer in the same way as a permanent vehicle or track.

Check exclusions and conditions
Look for footnotes covering platform, region, generation, release date, pre-order status, promotional windows and physical redemption codes. A listing can promise an add-on while requiring a separate code, a one-time download or an account link. If the contents page does not name the DLC, treat inclusion as unconfirmed rather than assuming the edition label covers it.
Save evidence
Capture the edition contents, order confirmation and any code or redemption instructions. Keep the purchase date, region and store account visible where possible. This record is useful if the store shows a different edition or support asks which promise you relied on.

Step 3: Confirm the account and storefront
Sign in to the account that bought the base game and the add-on. On PC, the storefront account and a linked publisher account can both matter. On console, another household profile may have made the purchase even though the game is installed on the same device.
- Compare the email, user name or account ID shown in the receipt with the account currently signed in.
- Check that the base game and DLC belong to the same storefront and compatible platform version.
- If a publisher account is linked, open its account connections and verify that the intended console or PC account is connected.
- Do not assume family sharing, a borrowed library, a trial or a subscription has transferred permanent ownership.
EA notes that DLC requires its base game. It also warns that DLC associated with an account may not remain usable when access to a subscription-provided base game ends. Therefore, a missing DLC icon can be an access problem rather than a failed download.
Step 4: Check ownership and installation on the platform
Steam
In the Steam desktop client, open Library, select the racing game, open its Properties, and choose DLC. Steam’s DLC installation and management view shows which DLC the account has for that game and whether each item is installed. The game’s Library page also has a DLC area with Manage My … DLC (the game name fills the ellipsis).
- Open the DLC list and find the exact pack or pass named on the edition page.
- Check the ownership indicator, then check the separate installation checkbox or status.
- If it is owned but not installed, enable installation and allow Steam to finish downloading.
- Restart the game after the download completes; some titles read DLC entitlements only when they launch.
Steam Support describes this distinction directly: “From the DLC installation and management menu you can see what DLC you have for the game and whether if it’s been installed.” The awkward wording is Steam’s; the important point is that ownership and installation are separate fields.
PlayStation
Open the game’s store page or your game library and inspect the add-on section. Select the named add-on and check its download or installation status. Included content may still require a separate download, even when the edition purchase is complete.

- Confirm that the signed-in PlayStation account made the purchase or redeemed the included code.
- Open the game’s add-ons list and locate the exact DLC name.
- Check whether the item is purchased, queued, downloading, installed or waiting for a code redemption.
- After installation, start the game from the same account and look for the title-specific menu where the publisher says the content appears.
Menu labels and locations can vary by console generation and game, so use the current product page or support instructions for that title rather than treating one console path as universal.

Xbox
An Xbox entitlement is an account right to use a digital product; Microsoft’s Xbox Game Development Kit documentation describes entitlements as covering games, subscriptions and add-ons. That documentation is developer-facing, so consumers should use the signed-in Xbox account and the platform’s store or library interface for the actual ownership check.
- Open the game or add-on listing while signed in to the purchasing account.
- Confirm that the listing says owned, installed or available to install rather than showing a purchase price.
- Check the console’s installed games and add-ons view for a separate download.
- If the game is accessed through a subscription, verify that both the subscription and the base-game access are still active.
An entitlement can have active, inactive, expired or revoked states in Microsoft’s terminology. A store display that looks like ownership therefore needs to be interpreted alongside the current account and subscription status.
Ubisoft Connect PC
Ubisoft Connect PC shows the edition associated with the account in the game library. Open the game’s Properties page to inspect the owned DLC and other add-ons. Compare the displayed edition with the edition on your receipt, then check each named item rather than relying on the edition label.
Ubisoft has also described an Xbox-to-PC availability offer in which most editions and DLC carry over for most games, while consumables are among the exceptions. That is not a universal cross-platform rule: verify the exact game and the terms of the offer before assuming that a console purchase appears on PC.

EA app
EA says that, in the EA app Library context covered by its EA Play help page, “Only base games, and not downloadable content (DLC) or expansion packs, are visible in your EA app Library.” Consequently, the absence of a separate DLC tile there does not by itself show that the add-on was excluded.
Check the base game’s details, the account’s order or entitlement history, and the game’s own add-on or content manager. Confirm that the base game remains accessible and that the correct EA account is linked. EA’s help material also describes game-specific differences between digital and physical bonus content; follow the instructions for your particular title instead of generalizing that example.
How to diagnose “owned but not showing”
Use the branch that matches what the store reports.
The DLC is not listed as owned
- Return to the official edition contents and verify that the exact DLC name is present.
- Check the receipt for a different edition, region, platform or account.
- Look for a separate season-pass purchase, code or redemption step.
- Sign out and back in to the purchasing account, especially after linking a publisher account.
- If the order still does not grant the item, contact the store or publisher with the receipt and the saved edition contents.
The DLC is owned but not installed
- Use the platform’s DLC or add-on management screen to start the download.
- Check available storage and whether the console or launcher paused updates.
- Wait for the download to finish, then restart the game.
- Verify that the installed game is the same platform generation and region as the purchased add-on.
The DLC is installed but the game does not recognize it
- Close the game completely and relaunch it while signed in to the purchasing account.
- Confirm that the base game is installed, owned or still available through the relevant subscription.
- Check the game’s menus for a garage, store, expansion, event or add-on section; content may not appear on the title screen.
- Review the publisher’s current support instructions for redemption, account linking and activation. Some bonuses require a code, an additional installation or progress in the game before they appear.
- If the platform shows owned and installed but the title still cannot access the item, provide support with the edition name, platform, account, order number and screenshots of the ownership and installation states.
The DLC appeared and later disappeared
Check whether access came from a subscription, a timed promotion or a shared account. Subscription-provided base-game access can end even while an account record for associated DLC remains. Also check whether the publisher changed the linked account or whether the item is a consumable that was already used rather than a permanent unlock.
Permanent ownership, subscriptions and consumables
When comparing editions, add three questions to the contents check:

- Is the item a permanent entitlement? A purchased expansion or car pack normally remains associated with the purchasing account, subject to the platform’s license rules.
- Is access supplied by a subscription? A subscription can provide the base game or a catalog entitlement without changing the underlying purchase history.
- Is it a consumable or promotional reward? Credits, tokens and one-time bonuses may have separate redemption and transfer rules. Ubisoft’s described Xbox-to-PC offer specifically identifies consumables as an exception to the usual carryover described for most editions and DLC.
Do not use the word “owned” loosely when a store is showing a temporary license, shared access or an unredeemed code.
Cross-platform and cross-generation checks
A purchase on one platform does not automatically establish access on another. Verify the game’s stated cross-platform or cross-generation terms, the linked accounts and the exact edition. Even when a publisher offers carryover, exceptions can include consumables, platform-exclusive items, physical bonuses and content tied to a particular version.

- the publisher account connected to both;
- the exact game version on each platform;
- whether the offer covers the edition, DLC or only progression;
- whether any item is a consumable or code-based bonus excluded from transfer.
If an official offer does not name your game, platform pair or item, treat transfer as unconfirmed and ask the publisher before purchasing a duplicate.

What to send support
Support can resolve entitlement disputes faster when the evidence is specific. Include the game and edition names, platform, region, purchasing account identifier, order date and number, exact DLC name, and screenshots showing the edition contents, ownership status and installation status. State whether the base game is purchased or subscription-provided and whether you have tried a code redemption. Avoid sending passwords or full payment details.
There is no single menu sequence that applies to every racing game or storefront. The reliable method is consistent, however: prove that the official edition promised the named item, prove that the correct account owns it, prove that the platform installed it, and then follow the game publisher’s instructions for activation and in-game access.
