Check compatibility for the individual Good Lock module on your specific Galaxy device—not just for the Good Lock app. Note your device model and installed One UI version, then review the module’s Galaxy Store listing and update history for matching compatibility notes or a fix for your intended feature. If Samsung has not documented support for that combination, treat compatibility as unconfirmed; an app appearing in the store or installing successfully is not proof that every feature works.
What counts as compatibility?
Good Lock is a collection of separate customization apps, often called modules. LockStar and Home Up are examples. Each module can have its own updates and device or software limitations, so a general statement about Good Lock does not establish that a particular module works with a particular One UI release.
Samsung Developer’s Good Lock Plugin Overview advises checking whether a plugin supports the device’s One UI version. In practice, that means checking three things together: your installed One UI version, your Galaxy model, and the exact module and feature you want to use. A positive result for one module—or for another Galaxy device—is not enough to establish support for yours.

Evidence for one does not automatically prove the next. A module may be visible and installable while one feature remains affected by a software change.

There is no single compatibility result for all Good Lock modules. Check the specific module rather than asking only whether “Good Lock supports One UI.” If you are choosing between modules, compare each one’s own current listing and update notes against the same device, installed software version, and intended use.
Check your device and installed One UI version
- Find the model. On the Galaxy phone or tablet, open Settings and look for the device’s About phone or About tablet information. Record the model name or number; model-specific support can matter as much as the One UI version.
- Find the installed software version. In Settings, open the device’s software information and note the One UI version. Check what is installed now, rather than relying on an announced update or an old compatibility list.
- Write down the feature you need. For example, you may be checking whether LockStar’s clock customization works, rather than asking only whether LockStar opens. A module may install while a particular feature is affected by an OS update.
Menu wording can differ by device or software release. The important detail is the version actually shown on your device, not a version you expect to receive.
Keep the model and software details together when you check a listing or contact support. A One UI version without a model leaves out a relevant part of the question: Samsung’s plugin guidance is about support for the device’s One UI version, not merely a version number in isolation. Likewise, a model without the installed One UI version does not tell you whether a software update changed the feature behavior.
If you are checking compatibility before installing a pending system update, distinguish the version installed today from the version you plan to install. A listing or support note that addresses your current software may not settle what will happen after the update. Recheck the module’s notes once the new One UI version is installed, especially if you depend on a specific customization.
Check the exact module, not only Good Lock
Open the module’s own Galaxy Store listing—the listing for LockStar, Home Up, or whichever module you intend to use. Good Lock’s general Galaxy Store listing says the app is available on Samsung devices running Android 8.0 or higher and cautions that some devices may not be supported. That is a broad availability statement about Good Lock, not a promise that every module or feature supports every One UI version.
Then inspect the module’s listing and its update history. Samsung says Good Lock exposes update history for each app. Look for explicit notes about One UI versions, supported devices, or fixes that match your model and the feature you want. A recent update can be useful evidence, but the mere presence of an update date does not establish that your particular setup is supported.
Read the notes for the module you intend to use, not only the Good Lock launcher’s notes or another component’s history. A change to LockStar does not establish support for Home Up, and a note about one feature within a module does not necessarily cover all of that module’s features. The relevant evidence should be as specific as possible: module, feature, device or device family, and One UI release.

Samsung Galaxy Store listing content can change over time. A listing snapshot displayed Good Lock version 3.0.16.6 dated July 14, 2026, alongside its Android 8.0-or-higher statement and access to per-app update history. That version and date describe that listing snapshot, not a compatibility requirement or a permanent current version. Use the notes and version information shown for your own device when you make the check.
How to evaluate the evidence

Give the most weight to evidence that names the module, feature, device or software release you are checking. If a note is general or silent about your combination, record the result as unconfirmed rather than inferring compatibility.
A useful way to rank what you find is to start with direct, specific statements and work outward. A Samsung support instruction for the same module, feature, and release is more informative for that issue than a broad store availability statement. The exact module’s update notes are more relevant than the Good Lock app’s general description. A matching One UI number without any module or device detail is weaker still. If two notes appear to conflict, check their dates and scope: an older note may describe an earlier software release, while a later note may cover a different issue.
Do not turn silence into a yes or a no. If the notes do not mention your device or feature, that is not proof of incompatibility; it means the combination is not confirmed by those notes. If the module is visible in the store, that is not proof of feature support either. Keep the conclusion proportional to the evidence: “listed,” “installable,” “documented for this feature and release,” or “unconfirmed” are more accurate than a blanket claim that it works on every device with a given One UI number.
Update the module separately when there is a relevant update
- Open Galaxy Store on the Galaxy device and find the specific module’s listing.
- Review its current update notes and history. Check whether an update is offered and whether Samsung describes a fix relevant to your One UI version or feature.
- If an update is offered, install it, then reopen the module and test the feature you were checking.
- If the issue remains, check the module’s listing and Samsung support guidance again for device-specific information. Do not assume that updating Good Lock itself also updates every module.
Samsung’s One UI 8 guidance illustrates why module updates matter. On a Galaxy phone or tablet running Android 16 (One UI 8), an outdated LockStar could cause Adaptive Clock, also called Stretch Clock, not to work properly. Samsung directed users with that issue to update LockStar through Galaxy Store to version 7.0.1.10. That version is a fix for the documented LockStar issue; it is not a universal minimum for LockStar, a general requirement for Good Lock, or evidence about other modules.
Use the version in that example only when it is relevant to the same documented issue. It does not mean every LockStar installation below 7.0.1.10 is incompatible with every One UI release, nor that installing that version guarantees all LockStar features will work on all devices. Samsung’s instruction is tied to the Adaptive Clock problem described for Android 16 (One UI 8). For a different feature or software version, look for guidance that addresses that case rather than reusing the number as a universal rule.
After installing a relevant module update, test the feature you actually need. If the issue persists, note the module version and the exact behavior you observe, then compare that with Samsung’s support guidance. An update may address a documented issue without being evidence that every other issue has been fixed.

Compare two modules or two devices carefully
If you are comparing whether a module works on two Galaxy devices, hold the question steady. Compare the exact module and its version, each device’s installed One UI version, any model-specific limitation in the listing, and Samsung’s notes for the feature. If one device has received a module update and the other has not, their behavior may not be a fair comparison. If the devices run different One UI versions, a result on one cannot establish support on the other.

A compatibility note for one should not be used as evidence for the other. Compare each module’s own listing and history, and look for notes that specifically address the feature you plan to use.
No official aggregate compatibility percentage or universal chart establishes how many modules support each One UI version. Avoid relying on a blanket “Good Lock works with One UI X” claim unless it identifies the module and device conditions. The meaningful comparison is specific, not a count or ranking of modules.
If the module is missing or the feature still fails
The module does not appear in Galaxy Store
Check that you are looking at the exact module and using the Galaxy Store on the intended device. Samsung Korea’s availability guidance says that if Good Lock cannot be found, the product may not be supported. Store availability can vary by region, product, and date, so absence is a useful eligibility clue, not a complete explanation. If Good Lock is visible but an individual module is not, that still does not establish that the module is available for your device or region.
Keep availability separate from compatibility while you investigate. Finding Good Lock does not guarantee that every separate module will appear, and finding a module does not guarantee that its feature works on your installed software. If the product is missing, check availability for the device and region rather than treating the absence as a software-version verdict.
The module installs, but you cannot find a compatibility note
Installation confirms only that the store made that app available to install. It does not confirm that every feature works with your One UI release or model. Check the individual module’s update history and Samsung’s guidance for the specific feature. If neither addresses your combination, the safest conclusion is that support has not been established.
In this situation, avoid substituting a report from another device for direct confirmation. Another Galaxy owner may use a different model, regional store, One UI version, or module build. Their experience can identify a question to check, but it does not settle whether your particular combination is supported.

A feature stopped working after a One UI update
Compare the module’s update history with the timing of the software change, then look for a Samsung support note describing the same module and feature. Apply a fix only within the scope Samsung documents. For example, the LockStar version noted for the One UI 8 Adaptive Clock issue should not be generalized to another feature or a later software release.
Record which version of One UI is installed now, the module involved, and the feature that changed. Then check whether the module has a separate update available and whether Samsung has published a matching support direction. The order matters: a module update may be needed even when the module itself still opens normally, as the Adaptive Clock example shows.
The listing seems to support your software, but your device behaves differently
Recheck the model as well as the One UI version. Compatibility language may not cover every device, and Samsung’s general Good Lock listing warns that some devices may not be supported. A matching OS version alone cannot resolve model-specific or regional availability questions.
Also check whether the note refers to the exact feature you are testing. A general compatibility statement is not necessarily a promise about every customization. If the listing and support guidance do not explain the difference, treat the behavior as unresolved rather than assuming the device is defective or that the module is universally incompatible.

- Exact module name and its installed or offered version, if shown
- The feature you need to use
- Any relevant compatibility wording or update note in the module’s Galaxy Store listing
- Whether Samsung has documented a matching issue or fix for that feature and release
This makes it easier to distinguish an OS change from a module update and avoids treating another user’s result on a different device as proof. Recheck the listing after updates: store notes, availability, and software support can change.

When you revisit the check, compare like with like. If One UI changed, note the new installed version. If the module changed, note its new version and update date. If the feature itself changed, identify exactly what stopped working or started working. This record will help you decide whether a new Samsung note applies, rather than relying on a remembered result from an earlier software or module version.

What you can conclude
You have strong evidence when Samsung’s current module-specific notes or support guidance cover your installed One UI version, device, and intended feature—and the module is updated as directed. If only Good Lock’s broad listing is available, or the module installs without a relevant compatibility statement, the correct conclusion is narrower: availability or installation is confirmed, but feature compatibility is not.
In short, verify the device and installed software first, then the exact module, then the feature-level notes and any relevant update. Use Samsung’s guidance within its stated scope, and call a result unconfirmed when the evidence does not address your combination. That is more reliable than treating Good Lock’s overall presence in Galaxy Store as a universal compatibility guarantee.
