To identify where an individual Logitech keyboard or mouse was made, inspect the country-of-origin wording on the device itself or its retail packaging. Turn the product over, photograph the complete underside label, and check the box for “Made in …” or “Country of origin.” Record the exact model or part number and serial number, then use Logitech Support, Logitech Options+ (or Logi Tune for supported business products), and Logitech’s regional Product Compliance Certification Search to verify the product identity and find model-specific documentation. Logitech’s corporate factory and supply-chain disclosures provide context, but they do not establish the origin of your particular unit.
What establishes the country of origin?
A country printed on, etched into, or permanently attached to your keyboard or mouse is the strongest evidence for that individual item. The same applies to a country-of-origin statement on the packaging when it clearly corresponds to the product inside. A company headquarters, a model name, a seller’s listing, or a general statement that Logitech manufactures products in a particular country cannot prove where your specific production run was made.
Origin markings can appear alongside regulatory symbols, electrical ratings, barcode data, and identification codes. They may be small, abbreviated, or hidden in a dense label, so use a bright light and take a close photograph before the text becomes hard to read. Keep the original photograph with your purchase records; labels can wear off during years of use.

1. Disconnect and turn the product over
Unplug a wired device. For a wireless model, switch it off and remove batteries if the battery compartment blocks the label. Turn the keyboard over and inspect the underside, or turn the mouse over and look around the sensor, feet, power switch, and battery door. Do not remove screws or pry off feet merely to search for a marking; the relevant information is normally on an external label or in the battery compartment.

2. Photograph every part of the label
Capture the full label rather than cropping only the serial number. Logitech states that mice and keyboards have a serial number “on a printed or on a sticker underneath the product.” The label commonly includes the model identifier, regulatory markings, and sometimes a “Made in” statement. A full image preserves the relationship between those fields and can reveal a short country name that is easy to mistake when transcribed.
3. Look for origin wording
Search for phrases such as “Made in,” “Manufactured in,” “Assembled in,” or “Country of origin.” The wording matters: “assembled in” describes assembly, while a component’s country or a design office’s location does not necessarily describe where the finished keyboard or mouse was made. If the label gives no country, record that result rather than inferring one from the company’s general manufacturing information.
4. Record all identifiers exactly
Write down the model name, model number, part number, serial number, and any production or batch code. Preserve hyphens, spaces, suffixes, and leading zeroes. Similar Logitech products can have nearly identical names while using different part numbers for different markets, keyboard layouts, bundled receivers, or production runs.
Check the retail box and inserts
Inspect every side of the box, including the barcode panel, regulatory panel, end flaps, and any small-print label applied by the importer. Look for “Made in …” or “Country of origin,” and photograph the barcode and the surrounding text. Some boxes use a separate country label for a particular market; others print origin information in a panel shared by several regions.
Keep the box even after opening the product. A packaging serial can differ from the serial printed on the keyboard or mouse, and a retailer may have placed an inventory sticker over the original label. Compare the box’s model or part number with the device’s label before treating the packaging statement as evidence for that unit. If the numbers do not match, the box may have been swapped, repacked, or intended for a different regional bundle.

The box can establish the origin of the item when its country statement is clearly tied to the matching product and no evidence suggests the package was reused. If the device has a different country marking, treat the device marking as the controlling evidence for the hardware in your hands and retain both photographs for a return or warranty discussion.
Confirm the exact Logitech model and serial number
Search Logitech Support
Use the identification details from the label rather than relying only on a product’s marketing name. Logitech Support allows a product search by name, model number, or part number. Enter the most specific identifier first, then check whether the support result describes the same connection type, layout, color, receiver, or regional version as your device.
Recommended Free Tools
A support page can help decode an abbreviated model or distinguish a retail part number from an internal model number. It does not replace the physical origin marking: support documentation identifies the product family, while the label or matching package states where a particular item was made.
Check the characters carefully
Small labels often make “0” and “O,” “1” and “I,” or “5” and “S” difficult to distinguish. Recheck the original photograph if a search returns no result. Include or omit spaces only as the support form permits, and try the model or part number separately from the serial number. Do not publish a complete serial number in a public forum; it can be useful for warranty service and should be treated as identifying information.
Use Logitech Options+ or Logi Tune for digital identification
Logitech Options+
Install or open Logitech Options+ if your consumer keyboard or mouse is supported. Connect the device, select it in the application, and open its settings or device-details area. The application can confirm the recognized model and may display serial information. Compare that digital identity with the underside label and box before drawing an origin conclusion.

Options+ may not show a manufacturing country. Its value is confirming that the physical product, its firmware identity, and the model you selected are the same device. If the application recognizes a different model, check whether you selected a paired receiver, a second device, or a similarly named product.
Logi Tune
Use Logi Tune instead when you have a supported business-oriented keyboard or mouse that is managed through that application. Select the device and open its settings or details view to confirm the model and available serial information. Application support varies by product and software version, so a missing device entry does not prove that the product is counterfeit or that its origin is unknown; use the printed label and support search as the primary path.
Check Logitech’s regional compliance documentation
Logitech provides a regional Product Compliance Certification Search. Choose the country or region relevant to the product, enter the exact model number, and review the declarations returned for that model. This can provide regulatory documents, certification identifiers, and market-specific information that helps distinguish otherwise similar variants.
- Copy the model number from the device label, including suffixes.
- Select the country or region in the compliance search.
- Submit the model number and open the matching declaration rather than a result for a similarly named product.
- Compare the document’s model, variant, and date information with the label and box.
- Save the declaration with your photographs if you need an audit trail for procurement, import, warranty, or resale records.
A compliance declaration is model-specific documentation, not automatically a statement that every unit of that model was manufactured in the same country. Use it to verify identity and regulatory status, then use the “Made in” marking tied to your unit or its matching packaging to establish origin.
How Logitech’s manufacturing disclosures should be interpreted
Logitech says its manufacturing operations comprise one production facility in Suzhou, China, where products are assembled and tested. That statement describes a corporate facility; it does not say that every Logitech keyboard or mouse is made there. Logitech also describes a hybrid manufacturing model that uses joint-design manufacturers and contract manufacturers, with components supplied from Asia, the United States, and Europe.

Several different facts can therefore coexist: a product can use components from multiple regions, be assembled by a contract manufacturer, and be sold under a Swiss company’s brand. “Logitech is Swiss” identifies the company, not the factory location. “Logitech has a facility in China” identifies one operation, not the origin of every model, market, or production batch.
Logitech’s conflict-minerals reporting illustrates the scale of the supply chain. For the 2023 reporting period, 255 of 460 suppliers were identified as in scope for the country-of-origin inquiry. That supplier figure concerns minerals and supply-chain due diligence; it is not a product-level country-of-origin statement and cannot be used to label a particular mouse or keyboard.
Compare two Logitech units correctly
If you are checking two keyboards or mice, compare more than the name printed on the front. The same model name can appear in multiple markets or production runs. Use the following fields side by side:
| Field | What to compare | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Exact model number | Every letter, digit, suffix, hyphen, and space | Separates variants that share a marketing name. |
| Part number | Retail or regional part number on the device and box | Can identify a market, bundle, layout, or receiver configuration. |
| Serial number | Device serial versus package serial | Shows whether the box belongs to the hardware. |
| Production or batch code | Printed code near the barcode or regulatory panel | Helps distinguish production runs when the model is unchanged. |
| Country-of-origin marking | Country printed on the unit, then on matching packaging | Direct evidence for the individual item when clearly tied to it. |
| Market or region | Language, keyboard layout, importer, and regional packaging | Explains why identical model names can have different labels or documentation. |
| Label location | Device label, battery compartment, or box-only statement | Distinguishes a marking attached to the item from one attached only to packaging. |
If model numbers match but origin markings differ, the units may come from different production runs or regional supply channels. Do not “average” the two results or assume one label is wrong without checking the serial and part-number relationship.
When no country is printed on the device
Check hidden but accessible areas
Inspect the battery compartment, underside edges, removable receiver storage, and any label partly covered by a protective film. On a mouse, the label may be close to the optical sensor or under the battery door. On a keyboard, it may be centered on the underside or placed near a regulatory block. Use magnification, but avoid solvents that could remove ink.

Use the packaging and purchase records
If the hardware has no origin statement, inspect the box and any importer or customs label. Keep the invoice, product photographs, and the exact listing or order description. A seller’s description can help identify the market, but it remains weaker evidence than a country statement printed by the manufacturer or importer on the matching package.
Ask support with the complete identifiers
Provide Logitech Support with the model number, part number, serial number, photographs, and purchase region. Ask whether the supplied documentation identifies an origin for that specific unit or only for the model family. Support may be able to clarify an obscure code, but do not expect a general corporate manufacturing page to resolve a unit whose label contains no country.
Do not infer from a missing mark
A missing country statement does not prove that the product was made in China, Switzerland, the United States, or any other country. It means the available physical evidence does not state an origin. Record that limitation plainly if you are preparing an inventory, import file, or resale description.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCommon mistakes and how to avoid them
- Reading only the product name: Marketing names can span several part numbers and markets. Use the full model and part number.
- Assuming the company’s nationality is the product’s origin: Corporate headquarters and manufacturing location are different facts.
- Using a component label: A battery, receiver, cable, or sensor can have its own origin that differs from the finished keyboard or mouse.
- Trusting a mismatched box: Compare serial and part numbers; retailers and previous owners can mix packages.
- Confusing assembly with component origin: “Assembled in” describes the finishing operation and should not be rewritten as a claim about every component.
- Relying on a search result for a similar model: Confirm layout, connection method, color, and regional suffix before applying a declaration to your device.
- Publishing the full serial number: Share only what support or a trusted seller needs, and redact it in public photographs.
A practical record-keeping checklist
- Photograph the keyboard or mouse from above and below, including every label.
- Photograph the box’s barcode and regulatory panels before discarding packaging.
- Transcribe the model number, part number, serial number, and production or batch code.
- Note exactly where each country statement appears and whether it says “made,” “manufactured,” or “assembled.”
- Confirm the model through Logitech Support.
- Check the device in Logitech Options+ or Logi Tune when the product is supported.
- Search the regional Product Compliance Certification database using the exact model number.
- Store the photographs, declaration, purchase region, and date together.
This record lets you distinguish a unit-level fact from a model-level document if you later compare inventory, submit a warranty claim, or investigate why two apparently identical products have different origin markings.
Does a “Made in China” label answer the question?
Yes, when the label is printed on your keyboard or mouse, or on packaging that demonstrably belongs to that item, it is the appropriate answer for that unit. It does not mean every Logitech keyboard or mouse is made in China, and it does not identify the origin of each component. Conversely, a reference to Logitech’s Suzhou facility does not override a different country printed on your product.
Bottom line for a Logitech origin check
Start with the physical evidence: the underside or battery-compartment label and the matching box. Capture the model, part number, serial, batch code, and wording of any origin statement. Use Logitech Support, Options+ or Logi Tune, and the regional compliance search to verify which product you have and to locate model documentation. Treat Logitech’s facility and supplier disclosures as supply-chain context only. The country marking tied to the individual unit is what establishes where that keyboard or mouse was made.
