To check an LG OLED TV’s warranty, find its exact model number and search for it on LG Electronics USA’s Warranty Information page. Then compare the warranty terms with the TV’s original purchase or delivery date and your proof of purchase. A model lookup can show the published terms, but LG must confirm coverage for a specific TV or repair claim.
This guide reflects LG’s U.S. warranty guidance and model pages checked October 11, 2026. Warranty terms vary by model, purchase location and date. If your TV was bought outside the United States, check the LG site and warranty documentation for your country.
Find your LG OLED TV’s model and serial number
The exact model number matters: warranty terms can differ between OLED TVs, including models from the same general product family. The serial number helps LG identify the individual set when you ask about its coverage. Write both down before you begin so you can use the same identifying information on LG’s site and when contacting support.
Check the label on the TV
LG says the model and serial numbers are printed on the back of the television. Record both exactly as shown, including letters, numbers and any suffix. A suffix or other ending characters may distinguish one variant from another, so do not shorten the model to a family name or omit characters that look unimportant.

If the TV is mounted or its label is difficult to see, avoid guessing from the screen size, appearance or year you believe it was released. Use the information menu if you can access it. If you still cannot confirm the complete model, ask LG for help identifying it rather than searching a similar-looking set.
Look in the TV’s settings
LG’s help article gives this route for older models: Home > Settings (or Setup) > Support > Product/Service Info > OK. Menu names and locations vary by generation, so the path may not match a newer OLED. If it does not, look under Support or the TV’s product-information section; use the rear label if you cannot confirm the model in the menus.
The menu route is useful for finding the model when the label is inaccessible, but LG’s stated identifying information includes both model and serial number. Make sure you have the serial number, too, before making a support request. Do not assume a product registration record is error-free if it conflicts with the label or the TV’s information menu; give LG the details you can verify and ask which identifier it needs.

Search LG’s U.S. warranty information by model
- Open LG Electronics USA’s Warranty Information page.
- Use the page’s Find Warranty Information by Model lookup and enter the complete model number. Avoid searching only by a broad description such as “LG OLED” or by the year you think the TV was released.
- Open the result for the matching model and read its warranty information and any linked warranty document. Check that the model identifier matches your TV, not just a similar series name.
- Note which components are covered, how long parts and labor are covered, when any panel-specific term applies, and whether the document identifies conditions or exclusions.
LG’s public warranty information is a useful first check, not a guarantee that an individual repair will be approved. If the page and the warranty document seem inconsistent, or the model does not appear, contact LG with the TV’s identifying details and purchase records.
How to read the result
Separate the published warranty into the terms that matter for your question. First identify the component: the general television, its parts, labor, or the OLED display panel. Then write down the stated period for each applicable category. A panel-specific term is not automatically the same thing as the warranty term for the whole TV.
Next, check the timing language. Compare the relevant period with the original delivery or purchase date, not the date you first searched LG’s site. If the page lists a longer period for a component, check whether it also states a different labor arrangement. For example, a part or panel might have a stated term while labor is charged. The wording on the exact model’s applicable warranty document is more useful than a general description of OLED coverage.
Finally, read any linked document for conditions and exclusions rather than stopping at the summary on a product page. The summary helps you locate the likely terms; it does not make a final decision about the TV, the reported defect or a proposed repair. If a phrase is unclear, keep a copy of the page or note its wording and ask LG to explain how it applies to your model and issue.

Use the original purchase or delivery date
LG states on its Warranty Information page: “The warranty period starts from the original date of delivery or purchase.” That date—not the TV’s model year or the day you register it—is the starting point to compare with the applicable warranty term.
Find the original receipt, invoice or delivery record. For a used TV, ask the seller for the original purchase documentation and confirm that it identifies the TV or otherwise supports the date and place of purchase. A seller’s estimate, the TV’s age or the date you bought it secondhand does not establish the original warranty start date.
When you compare dates, use the original date supported by the purchase or delivery document and the term shown for the exact model. Do not calculate a remaining term from the model’s release year: a model year does not tell you when the individual television was purchased or delivered. If the purchase and delivery documents show different dates, or you are not sure which date applies, give LG both records and ask it to confirm the start date for the product.
If you are considering a used set, warranty status is only one part of checking the seller’s records. Request the complete model number, serial number and the first owner’s receipt or invoice before relying on a claim that the TV is covered. Compare those records with the unit you are considering. If the seller cannot provide a purchase record, the public model lookup can still show published model terms, but it cannot by itself establish the TV’s original start date or confirm its remaining coverage.

Understand why OLED coverage can differ by component
Some model pages distinguish coverage for the whole TV from coverage for the OLED display panel. Do not assume that an advertised panel term means the entire television has the same term, or that labor is included for every covered component.

These are examples from LG Electronics USA product support pages checked in 2026, not a rule for every LG OLED. The absence of a panel-extension note on a sampled page does not establish that a different model has the same terms—or that it has no other coverage. The OLED77B5 and OLED77G5 examples illustrate why it is useful to check both component and labor terms: each sampled page lists one year for parts and one year for labor, while the G5 page separately identifies panel coverage for years two through five and says labor is charged. A longer display-panel term therefore should not be read as five years of full-TV coverage or five years of labor coverage. The sampled OLED77T4 page also lists one year for parts and one year for labor, without the same panel-extension note in the retrieved product information. Those details are limited to the named models and the pages checked; they do not establish the terms for another OLED set.
When comparing two coverage options for a real television, use the same checklist for each: covered component, start and end dates, whether labor is included or charged, eligibility and exclusions, and whether the coverage is LG’s manufacturer warranty or an optional extended service plan. A plan and the original warranty are not interchangeable just because both relate to service. Confirm the applicable terms and eligibility with LG rather than assuming one coverage option supplements or replaces another.
Check MyLG, but keep your proof of purchase
If the TV is registered, sign in to MyLG and check its saved product information and support or warranty details. LG says a MyLG account can retain the model, serial number, purchase date, place of purchase and price. This can make it easier to locate the product record when seeking support.
Use the registration as a convenient record, then compare it with the original receipt, invoice or delivery record. Check that the listed model and serial number match the TV and that the recorded purchase date and place agree with the document you have. If they differ, do not treat the account entry as a replacement for the original sales document; ask LG what it needs to verify the product and date.
Registration is not a substitute for the original sales record. LG’s U.S. OLED Television Limited Warranty says: “Product registration does not substitute for Proof of Warranty, will not be used for determination of Date of Purchase, and does not extend the Warranty Period for your product.” Keep the receipt or invoice even if the product appears in MyLG. Registering a TV may make product support information easier to access, but it does not reset the clock or create a longer warranty period.

Contact LG if the model lookup is missing, the applicable document is unclear, or you need a decision about a particular problem. LG’s OLED warranty document asks owners to have the model number, serial number and purchase date ready before service. Prepare the following before you contact support:
- The full model number and serial number.
- The original purchase or delivery date and the receipt, invoice or delivery record.
- A short description of the problem and when it began.
- The warranty document or model-page terms you found, especially any difference between parts, labor and panel coverage.
It also helps to keep the information together before starting the conversation: the exact model result you found, the applicable warranty document, and the purchase record that supports the original date. That makes it easier to ask a specific question instead of relying on an approximate model name or a remembered purchase date.

Ask LG to confirm whether the TV is within the applicable period, whether the affected component is covered, whether labor is included, and what documentation or next steps are required. If the issue concerns a display panel, ask whether the panel-specific term applies to the particular problem and whether labor is charged. If you found a conflict between a product page and a linked document, describe the discrepancy and ask which terms LG applies to the individual TV.
Only LG can confirm the status and disposition for the specific product and claim. The model lookup shows published terms, but it does not verify the purchase date, establish that a reported problem qualifies, or promise that a repair will be covered. Keep LG’s answer with your records so you can refer to the same model and date information if you follow up.
If the TV is out of warranty
LG says owners can still request LG Direct Service for an out-of-warranty TV. The diagnostic fee can change; contact LG for current pricing before arranging service. LG also offers optional Premium Care extended plans, but eligibility and current terms must be confirmed with LG. Do not assume a plan can be added to an older or already-registered TV without checking its current conditions.
Before arranging service, distinguish the cost question from the coverage question. If LG confirms the set is out of warranty, ask what the current diagnostic fee is and what the service process involves. The fee is subject to change, so an old price or another owner’s experience is not a reliable quote. If considering Premium Care, ask LG directly whether the particular TV is eligible and review the plan’s current terms, covered components, labor treatment, dates and exclusions. The availability of an optional plan does not by itself show that a particular owner or TV qualifies.
No unrelated accessory or replacement part can establish warranty status. For a coverage check, the relevant next step is LG’s model lookup, the original purchase record and, when needed, a direct confirmation from LG support.
Common mistakes that lead to the wrong answer
- Searching by series or model year alone: Warranty details are model-specific. Match the complete model number shown on the TV.
- Treating registration as proof: MyLG product details are helpful records, but LG says registration neither establishes the purchase date nor extends the warranty period.
- Counting from the day you bought a used TV: LG’s stated start point is the original delivery or purchase date. Seek the first owner’s documentation if possible.
- Assuming panel coverage includes labor: The sampled OLED77G5 information specifies panel coverage in years 2–5 and says labor is charged. Read the exact terms for your model.
- Assuming a public lookup approves a repair: Published terms do not decide an individual claim. LG must confirm coverage for the TV and the reported issue.
- Using U.S. terms for a TV purchased elsewhere: Warranty terms depend on location. Consult the local LG site and the documentation supplied with the television.
- Taking a missing panel note as a universal answer: The sampled OLED77B5 and OLED77T4 pages do not show the same panel-extension note as the sampled G5 page. Those model examples do not determine another model’s terms.
- Assuming a diagnostic fee or plan price is fixed: LG says the Direct Service diagnostic fee may change. Contact LG for current pricing and confirm Premium Care eligibility and terms directly.
