To check a PlayStation Store price safely, open the exact game listing for your account’s Store region, confirm the platform and edition, and read the amount shown at checkout. Add the game to your PlayStation wishlist and enable wishlist notifications on PS5 or in the PlayStation App so you can learn about later discounts. For context, compare the same title and edition with a price-history tracker, then return to the official Store page to verify the live offer before paying.
The Store listing is the authority for the amount you can actually purchase at that moment. Trackers are useful for showing earlier sale prices, regional differences and alerts, but their feeds can briefly lag behind a Store change.

What the PlayStation Store price tells you
The price on a game’s current Store page is the amount associated with the selected product, account region and purchase flow. It can differ from prices shown in search results, old screenshots, social posts or another country’s Store. A discount badge explains that the current amount is reduced from a reference price, but it does not prove the offer is the lowest the game has reached.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Before comparing any number, identify four things:
- Store region: use the country or territory attached to your PlayStation account. Store currencies, taxes, discounts and sale schedules vary by region.
- Platform: check whether the listing is for PS4, PS5 or both. Separate versions can have different prices or discounts.
- Edition and bundle: compare Standard, Deluxe, Ultimate, complete editions and bundles only with the same edition. Included expansions, currencies and other content change the value.
- Access type: distinguish a purchase from a PlayStation Plus catalog addition or a membership discount. Catalog access is not the same as owning the game at a reduced purchase price.
These checks prevent the most common error: treating two similar-looking listings as the same offer.

Check the live price in the official Store
On a PS5 console
- Open the PlayStation Store from the PS5 home screen.
- Search for the game and open its product page, rather than relying on a tile or search-result price.
- Use the edition selector, if present, to choose the exact version you intend to buy.
- Confirm the PS4 or PS5 version, included content, discount label, sale end information and displayed currency.
- Proceed far enough in the purchase flow to see the final amount before confirming payment. Stop if the selected edition or total is not what you expected.
The amount can change after a promotion ends, so a price seen earlier in the day is not a guarantee of the amount at checkout.
In a PC browser
- Open the PlayStation Store website used for your account’s region.
- Sign in, search for the title and open the specific product listing.
- Check the platform, edition, bundle contents and current currency in the listing.
- Read the sale terms and any membership eligibility shown on the page.
- Recheck the total immediately before purchase, especially if you opened the page from an old bookmark or a deal notification.
The official US Store is a live storefront reference, but Store pages and interface labels can vary by country. Always use the regional Store associated with your account.
In the PlayStation App
- Open the PlayStation App for iOS or Android and sign in to the same account used on your console.
- Search for the game and open its Store listing.
- Inspect the platform and edition selector and read the current amount in your account’s currency.
- If you are not ready to buy, use the heart-shaped wishlist control instead of relying on a screenshot or saved search.
The app is convenient for checking a price away from your console, but the final Store listing remains the place to verify a volatile offer.
Set up wishlist alerts for future discounts
Add a game to the wishlist
PlayStation’s wishlist is available on PS5, in the PlayStation App and through the PC Store interface described by PlayStation. Open the game page and select the heart-shaped wishlist control. If the title has several editions, add the listing that represents the edition you would actually purchase; a different edition may receive a different promotion.
Enable alerts on PS5
- Open Settings.
- Select Notifications.
- Open Wishlist Updates.
- Enable the pop-up notifications option.
Wishlist updates can report discounts and price reductions. PlayStation also describes alerts when a wishlisted game is added to the PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium catalog. That alert means the game became available through the catalog; it does not mean the purchase price was reduced.
Rank #2
- Redeem for anything on PlayStationStore: games, add-ons, PlayStationPlus and more.
- Everything you want to play. Choose from the largest library of PlayStation content.
- Use gift card funds to contribute towards PlayStationPlus memberships.
Enable alerts in the PlayStation App
- Open the app’s notification settings.
- Allow push notifications at the phone operating-system level if they are blocked.
- Turn on wishlist updates in the app.
- Leave the game on your wishlist so future updates can be associated with it.
If alerts do not appear, check both layers of permission: the PlayStation App must be allowed to send notifications, and the phone itself must not be suppressing them through a focus mode, battery restriction or system-level notification setting.
Review and sort the wishlist
Open the wishlist on PS5, in the app or in the PC Store. The PlayStation guide describes sorting the PS5 wishlist by release date, price, name or the date an item was added. Sorting by price helps scan a large list; sorting by date added can surface games you have been watching longest.

How to tell whether a discount is unusually low
A sale percentage is only a snapshot. To judge whether a deal is unusually good, compare the current listing with the title’s earlier prices while keeping the region, platform and edition identical.
Use a price-history service for context
Price-history services collect earlier Store prices and display sale lows or a chart. They are useful for answering questions such as “Has this edition been cheaper?” and “How often does this game go on sale?” They do not control the PlayStation Store and are not the purchase listing.
PlatPrices says it tracks PS4 and PS5 prices across Store regions, provides historical prices and lowest-ever prices, and supports an account-based wishlist with email alerts. Its own description says prices are checked regularly and that a short delay can occur after a Store change. Treat a history chart as context, not as proof that the current Store page still shows the same amount.

- Use gift card funds to contribute towards PlayStationPlus memberships.
PlatPrices also describes a dataset covering 47 PSN regions and more than 20 million price points since November 2020. That is the service’s self-described tracking dataset, not an independent statistic about every PlayStation Store transaction.
Compare like with like
| Comparison | What to match | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Region | Your account’s Store country or territory and currency | Regional prices, taxes and promotions can differ. |
| Platform | PS4, PS5 or a listing explicitly including both | A discount on one platform may not apply to the other. |
| Edition | Standard, Deluxe, Ultimate, complete edition or the same bundle | Different included content makes the prices non-equivalent. |
| Membership status | Regular Store price versus an eligible PlayStation Plus offer | A membership price may require an active subscription and cannot be treated as the universal purchase price. |
| Timing | The timestamp of the history entry and the current Store page | Sales can end before an alert or cached chart is refreshed. |
Return to the Store before paying
- Use the tracker only to identify the historical range or a possible low.
- Open the official Store listing for your region.
- Select the same platform, edition and bundle used in the comparison.
- Confirm the current price, sale terms and final checkout total.
- Buy only after the live listing matches the deal you intended to evaluate.
Third-party trackers, apps and extensions
These services describe their own features; the available information does not independently establish that one is faster or more accurate than another. Choose based on how you want to monitor prices and then verify every purchase in the official Store.
| Service | Provider-described functions | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| PlatPrices | Historical PS4 and PS5 prices, lowest-ever views, regional coverage, account wishlist and email alerts. | The provider cautions that its feed can briefly lag after a Store price change. |
| PlatPrices browser extension | Current and PlayStation Plus prices, recent history, low-price indications and regional comparisons on Store pages. | The product description says it supports Chrome and other Chromium browsers; some account-connected wishlist features require a PlatPrices account. The Chrome Web Store listing identified version 0.16.0, updated July 20, 2026. |
| PSPrices | Regional selection, a game watchlist and price-drop notifications through Telegram, email or a browser. | Feature limits and comparative claims on the provider’s page should be treated as provider claims, not independent testing. |
| PS Deals website | Choose a console and region, subscribe to a title and receive an email when the Store price drops. | The site discloses that it uses affiliate links. |
| PS Deals app | Price histories, desired-price alerts, region comparisons and marketplace comparisons. | The App Store listing says some features require Premium; availability and subscription pricing can vary by location and change. |
Choose a monitoring method
- Use the official wishlist if you want a built-in, simple alert with no separate tracker account.
- Use a history website if your main question is whether today’s sale is near a previous low.
- Use a browser extension if you want history and regional information displayed while browsing Store pages on a supported desktop browser.
- Use an app or alternate alert channel if you prefer email, Telegram or phone notifications, while checking whether the feature is free or part of a paid tier.
A reliable price-checking routine
Use this sequence whenever you are considering a purchase:
- Find the official listing. Search the Store for the exact game and open its product page.
- Confirm identity. Match region, platform, edition, bundle and included content.
- Record the live amount. Note the displayed currency and any membership condition.
- Check history. Compare the same configuration in a tracker to see previous sale prices and lows.
- Set a target if you are willing to wait. A tracker’s desired-price alert or the official wishlist can notify you, depending on the service and settings.
- Reopen the Store when alerted. Do not buy from an old notification, cached page or history chart.
- Verify checkout. Confirm the edition and final total one last time before authorizing payment.
Common problems and fixes
The price differs between your console and a tracker
First check whether the tracker is showing a different region, platform, edition or membership price. If all four match, assume the Store may have changed and use the official listing as the current reference. A tracker’s update delay can explain a short-lived mismatch.
The discount appears on one version but not another
Open the edition selector and inspect each platform separately. PS4 and PS5 versions can have separate pricing or promotions. A cross-buy listing or upgrade offer is not automatically interchangeable with every standalone edition.

You received a catalog alert but expected a sale
Wishlist notifications can report that a title was added to the PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium catalog. Catalog availability provides subscription access under the applicable terms; it is different from a reduced price to purchase the game.
A notification arrived after the sale ended
Notifications report that an update occurred, not that an offer will remain available for a guaranteed period. Open the Store immediately and read the current sale terms. If the promotion has ended, keep the title wishlisted or subscribed to a tracker rather than relying on the old alert.
The app does not send wishlist notifications
- Confirm that push notifications are enabled inside the PlayStation App.
- Confirm that the phone’s operating system permits notifications for the app.
- Check that the game is still on the wishlist and that you are signed in to the intended account.
- Review device focus, battery-saving and notification-summary settings that could delay delivery.
A tracker shows no history for the listing
Check whether the service supports that Store region and whether you selected the correct platform and edition. Newly released products, unusual bundles and recently renamed listings may have limited history. In that situation, use the official price and wishlist alerts, and avoid treating a missing chart as evidence that the current offer is a record low.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Membership prices, catalog access and ownership
When comparing a regular price with a PlayStation Plus offer, identify what the offer provides. A membership discount can reduce the purchase price for eligible subscribers. A catalog addition instead provides access while the title remains in the applicable Extra or Premium catalog and while the account meets membership conditions. These are different decisions: buying can preserve access to the purchased license, while catalog access depends on the membership and catalog status.
Recommended Free Tools
Trackers may display membership prices or discounts as part of their own feature set. Confirm eligibility and terms on the Store page for your account before treating that amount as available to you.

Privacy and account considerations
The official wishlist requires the PlayStation account already used with the Store. A separate tracker account may be optional for browsing but required for account-connected wishlist synchronization or certain alerts, according to the provider’s feature description. Before connecting an account, review the service’s current sign-in and data permissions and use only the features you need.
Browser extensions can read or modify information on Store pages in order to display history or regional data. Install only from the browser’s official extension marketplace, check the publisher and version, and remove the extension if its permissions no longer fit your use. An extension can inform your decision but cannot guarantee that the Store price is current.
When to buy and when to wait
Buy now when the official listing matches your intended edition, the price fits your budget and the historical context is acceptable for your play schedule. Wait when the chart shows frequent deeper sales, you do not need immediate access, or the listing is a bundle whose contents you have not checked. A low percentage discount is not automatically better than a higher percentage discount on a different edition; compare the actual amount and included content.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I see a game’s previous PlayStation Store prices on my PS5?
The PS5 Store and wishlist show the current listing and alerts, not a general historical-price chart. Use a third-party history service for earlier prices, then verify the live amount on the official Store.
Do PlayStation wishlist alerts guarantee that a sale price is still available?
No. An alert reports an update, and a promotion can end before you open it. Recheck the exact Store listing and checkout total immediately before buying.
Why is a PS4 price-history result not a reliable comparison for the PS5 edition?
PS4 and PS5 versions can have separate prices and discounts. Compare the same platform, edition, region and bundle.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIs a PlayStation Plus catalog addition the same as buying a game on sale?
No. Catalog access is tied to the applicable PlayStation Plus membership and catalog status, while a purchase is a separate transaction.
