Use Maple Route as the premise for a rule-checking question, not as a verified authority: available official documentation does not establish how the service works, which sources it checks, or how accurate it is. To confirm whether a Canadian immigration rule you heard is still in force, find the current Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) instruction for the exact program and applicant situation. If you have already applied, check your case through IRCC’s status route for that application type. Eligibility, application status, and processing estimates answer different questions.
What is established about Maple Route?
The title describes Maple Route as a multi-agent AI for checking whether Canadian immigration rules remain current. However, no authoritative product page or documentation establishes its features, source coverage, privacy practices, or accuracy. There is also no published accuracy or usefulness statistic identified here, and no attributable Maple Route spokesperson or product quotation.
That means you should not treat any answer from the service as proof that a rule applies to you. The practical check is whether the relevant current IRCC program instruction supports the claim for your circumstances.
How to verify an immigration rule you heard
- Pin down the claim. Write down the specific rule, the program or stream, who it concerns, and the relevant date or event. A requirement can differ by permit, immigration stream, province, applicant category, or filing date.
- Find the matching official instruction. Use the current IRCC program page or official tool for that specific situation. Do not rely on another applicant’s experience or a general retelling as the authority for a rule.
- Check scope and timing. Note the page’s application type and geography, plus any effective, update, or relevant filing date it gives. Confirm that these match the claim you are checking.
- Separate the answer from your case status. A general program page addresses rules; a status tool reports information about a submitted application. Neither should be mistaken for the other.
- Get individual advice when the stakes warrant it. If the rule could affect eligibility, a deadline, or a significant decision, consult an authorized immigration and citizenship representative. IRCC explains how to choose a representative and check authorization in its representative guidance.
How to check an IRCC application’s status
IRCC’s official status instructions route applicants according to application type and how they applied. The department describes account-based options as well as the Client Application Status tool. Some tool information is updated daily; an online account can also provide messages and updates. Follow the route specified for your application rather than assuming one checker covers every case.
A status result is information about a file that has already been submitted. It is not a general check of whether a rule you heard is current, and the reviewed official status guidance does not establish that a status checker validates all eligibility rules.
How to read IRCC processing times
IRCC’s processing-time page provides estimates, not deadlines or guarantees. IRCC says: “They’re not a maximum or a guarantee.” Actual processing can vary with application type, completeness, operational conditions, verification, security checks, and delays in receiving responses. Projections can change, so consult the live estimate for the relevant application type when you need current information.

A displayed estimate is not a private prediction of when a particular person will receive a decision. If you contact IRCC about a file in process, its agents cannot give updates beyond information available online or tell you how much longer your case will take, according to the department’s contact guidance.
Department-wide figures are not individual forecasts
In committee material dated May 28, 2026, IRCC reported that approximately 52% of new permanent residents were approved within 12 months of submitting a complete application. The measure covers April 2025 to March 2026 and describes a retrospective departmental aggregate—not the odds or expected wait for any one applicant. See IRCC’s May 28, 2026 service standards material.

Historical measures may use a different method
IRCC’s Express Entry Year-End Report 2024 describes a historical processing-time measure as the period in which 80% of applications were finalized. It says permanent-residence processing times in that report are calculated on a six-month rolling period ending in each respective year. This methodology is specific to that report; it should not be assumed to explain every estimate shown on IRCC’s live processing-time page. See the Express Entry Year-End Report 2024.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which source answers which question?
- “Is this still a rule?” Find the current official IRCC instruction for the relevant program, applicant category, geography, and date.
- “What is happening with my application?” Follow IRCC’s status route for the application type and submission method.
- “How long might processing take?” Check IRCC’s current estimate for the application type, remembering it is not a guaranteed decision date.
- “What does this mean for my eligibility or deadline?” Read the underlying instruction and seek authorized individual advice when needed.
When comparing sources, ask whether the information is an official current program instruction or a secondary summary; whether it matches the same program and circumstances; whether its date and geography are clear; and whether it is discussing a general rule, a case status, or a processing estimate. A trustworthy explanation should make uncertainty clear and point to qualified help when a case-specific interpretation is needed.
