The reliable way to check a Final Fantasy XIV event is to start with the official Lodestone News or Topics notice, record the complete start and end time with its timezone, then open that notice’s linked event site. The event site supplies eligibility, quest names, reward methods, progress checks, and any replay restrictions. Use the in-game Journal to confirm your own progress, and revisit the official notice near the deadline because schedules and availability can change.
Use the official Lodestone notice first
Final Fantasy XIV event information is distributed through two connected official locations. The Lodestone News/Topics index is the authoritative starting point for a current announcement. Find the notice whose title matches the event you want, and open the full article rather than relying on a search-result snippet, social-media post, or an old calendar entry.
The announcement normally gives the event period and points to a dedicated event special site. The notice is the source for the published schedule; the special site is where participation details are expanded. Keep both pages available while you plan, because a schedule without the event site may not tell you whether your character qualifies or how a reward is earned.

Read the deadline as a date, time, and timezone
An event does not end merely “on October 13” or “at the end of the day.” The meaningful deadline is the exact date and clock time printed in the notice, together with its timezone. A player in another region must convert that time before deciding when to begin a final quest, exchange tokens, or claim an item.
Record the four parts separately: start date, start time, end date, and end time. Retain the timezone abbreviation exactly as written. For example, a notice using PDT is not automatically the same local clock time for a player elsewhere. If your conversion crosses midnight, the local calendar date can differ from the date shown in the North American notice.
The following live-notice examples were checked on October 13, 2026. They illustrate how to read an announcement, not a permanent Final Fantasy XIV calendar.

At the October 13, 2026 check, that deadline was still ahead. |
| Fall Guys collaboration | Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 1:00 a.m. through Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 7:59 a.m. PDT | A limited collaboration event announced through Lodestone | The notice says it may be held at irregular intervals after this run. That wording does not provide a guaranteed next return date. |
When an announcement says an event will return at irregular intervals, treat that as a possibility rather than a schedule. It is not a promise that the event will be available on a particular future date, or that its rewards and requirements will be identical.
Step-by-step: check an event before you play
- Open Lodestone News or Topics. Use the current event listing and select the announcement with the matching event name. Check the publication context and region before using its dates.
- Locate the event-period line. Copy the start and end date, clock time, and timezone into a note. Do not shorten “Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 7:59 a.m. PDT” to “October 13,” because the omitted time changes how much play time remains.
- Open the linked event special site. Read the sections covering participation, quests, rewards, and replay. Event sites often use the quest’s exact name and the Journal category, which makes later in-game checking easier.
- Check character eligibility. Compare your character’s level, job type, main-scenario progress, and any other conditions with the event-site requirements. If a limited job is excluded, use an eligible standard job when the event instructs you to do so.
- Find the starting quest and location. Use the event site’s named quest and NPC information, then follow the in-game objective. The Journal entry is more reliable than memory if you have several seasonal or collaboration quests active.
- Record reward steps. Note whether each reward comes from quest completion, an exchange, a purchase, or another event action. A reward list tells you what is offered; it does not by itself prove that every item is automatically granted.
- Recheck close to the end. Open the live notice and event site again before your final session. Confirm that the displayed deadline and event availability have not changed, and leave enough time for the remaining quests and exchanges rather than aiming for the final minutes.
Confirm eligibility and personal progress in the Journal
Example: A Nocturne for Heroes 2026 requirements
The 2026 A Nocturne for Heroes event site states that a character must be level 50. Limited jobs are excluded, and the character must have completed the main-scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon.” These are requirements for that event, not a universal rule for every seasonal or collaboration event.
Rank #2
If the event NPC does not offer the expected quest, check each condition in the event site in order: character level, whether the current job is limited, and completion of “The Ultimate Weapon.” A character can be high enough level and still be ineligible because the main-scenario prerequisite is incomplete.
Find the event entry for a returning character
For A Nocturne for Heroes, the event site directs returning players to the Journal path Complete → Other Quests → Special Quests. Open those categories and look for the event’s named quests. The entries can show whether a step is unfinished or completed, helping you resume without accepting the same objective again or assuming that an earlier run was fully cleared.
Use the exact quest names from the event site when searching the Journal. Similar seasonal quests can appear together, and a broad search for “event” may not distinguish the current collaboration from an older one.
Work out what rewards you can actually obtain
Start with the reward section on the current event site, then connect each item to its acquisition step. The A Nocturne for Heroes announcement highlights the Regalia Type-G four-seater mount, the Lucian Prince costume set, Modern Aesthetics – Lucian Locks, orchestrion rolls, and additional rewards. “Highlighted” means the notice calls out those rewards; it does not replace the event site’s instructions for earning or exchanging them.
Make a small checklist with one row per reward and these columns:
| Reward record | What to write down |
|---|---|
| Item name | The exact spelling used by the event notice or special site. |
| Source | The quest, exchange, purchase, or other event action that supplies it. |
| Character status | Whether your Journal shows the prerequisite quest complete. |
| Final action | Any exchange, claim, or interaction still required after the quest reward. |
| Deadline dependency | Whether the action must be completed before the published end time. |
This prevents a common mistake: finishing a quest and assuming that an exchange item, cosmetic, mount, or orchestrion roll has already been claimed. Follow the event-specific sequence for every reward you want.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDo not infer the current reward list from a previous rerun. Even when an event returns under the same name, the notice and special site for the current run are the documents that establish what is available now.
Understand Seasonal Event Replay before activating it
The A Nocturne for Heroes 2026 event site includes a replay feature for eligible players. Replay can let you play certain quests again, but replay itself does not grant rewards. It is therefore not a method for earning a second copy of an item or recovering a reward that was never claimed.
The site also warns that activating replay can make quest-related purchases or exchanges unavailable until the listed quests are completed. If the event ends before you finish those quests, the affected purchases or exchanges may remain inaccessible until the event is held again. That creates a practical risk for a player who starts replay shortly before the deadline.
- Read the event-specific replay instructions before selecting the replay option.
- Confirm which quests must be completed to restore purchases or exchanges.
- Start only when you have enough time to finish that sequence before the published end time.
- Do not activate replay solely to obtain rewards; the replay run does not grant them.
Replay rules are not automatically shared by every event. Treat the warning above as a documented condition of A Nocturne for Heroes 2026 and check the current event site for any other event.

When deciding which event to complete first, compare the same four dimensions. This keeps a short deadline from being overlooked and prevents requirements from one event being applied to another.
| Comparison point | Questions to answer from the current notice and event site | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Schedule | What are the exact start and end times, and which timezone is printed? | Two events ending on the same calendar date can leave different amounts of local play time. |
| Eligibility | Is there a level threshold, a limited-job exclusion, a main-scenario requirement, or another condition? | You may need to advance the character before the event quest appears. |
| Reward method | Is each item earned from a quest, exchange, purchase, or another action? | Completion of one objective may not finish the claim process. |
| Replay and post-event access | Does replay grant rewards, restrict exchanges, or depend on a future rerun? | Starting replay near the deadline can affect access to event actions. |
For the 2026 examples, A Nocturne for Heroes has documented level, job, and main-scenario conditions plus a replay warning. The Fall Guys notice provides its October 7–27 PDT period and says later appearances occur at irregular intervals, without promising a return date. Those statements should not be merged into a single set of rules.
A practical deadline checklist
Use this checklist when an event matters to you or when the end time is close:
- Open the current Lodestone announcement, not an archived summary.
- Write down the complete end date, clock time, and timezone.
- Convert the deadline to your local time and verify whether the local date changes.
- Open the linked special site and note every eligibility prerequisite.
- Find the starting quest and its exact Journal category.
- List the rewards you want and the action that supplies each one.
- Check the Journal for incomplete steps before beginning a new quest.
- Read replay restrictions before activating any replay option.
- Leave time for quest dialogue, travel, exchanges, and a final confirmation.
- Reopen the official pages near the deadline to catch a changed date or availability statement.
Keep the note tied to the event’s name and year. A future rerun can reuse a title while changing its period, requirements, reward selection, or access rules.
Troubleshoot common deadline and reward problems
The event quest is not appearing
Return to the event site and compare your character with every listed requirement. For A Nocturne for Heroes 2026, verify level 50, use a non-limited job, and confirm completion of “The Ultimate Weapon.” Then check the Journal path Complete → Other Quests → Special Quests for an existing or completed entry. A missing quest can mean that a prerequisite is incomplete, not that the event has ended.
Best Value
- Release date is tentative, updates will be posted on the page
The notice shows a date that seems wrong for my location
Check the timezone printed beside the official time before converting it. The North American examples above use PDT. Convert the hour and date to your location, paying attention to a midnight crossover, and keep the original PDT time in your note so you can compare it with later updates.
I completed a quest but cannot find the reward
Open the reward instructions on the current event site and identify whether another exchange, purchase, or claim action is required. Then check the Journal for the exact quest name and completion state. Do not assume that a reward highlighted in the announcement is automatically delivered at the first quest step.
I started replay and an exchange is unavailable
Read the replay warning and complete the listed quests that restore quest-related purchases or exchanges. Replay does not grant rewards. If the deadline passes first, the A Nocturne for Heroes 2026 site warns that those items may remain inaccessible until the event is held again, so contact the event instructions rather than repeatedly activating replay.
The event has ended and I am waiting for it to return
Use the Lodestone News/Topics index for a new announcement. A statement that an event will occur at irregular intervals does not establish a date, and it does not guarantee that the next run will have identical rewards or requirements.
When to check again
Check once when you first decide to participate, again after you confirm your character’s prerequisites, and once more close to the deadline. The final check is important for limited events because the published date, availability, or instructions can change. It also catches a missed exchange or replay condition while there is still time to act.
For the October 13, 2026 A Nocturne for Heroes example, the official North American notice listed 7:59 a.m. PDT as the end, while the Fall Guys notice listed 7:59 a.m. PDT on October 27, 2026. Those timestamps demonstrate why the live notice—not a generic “ends Tuesday” reminder—is the right reference for planning.
The dependable method in one sentence
Use the current Lodestone notice for the authoritative period, read the linked event site for requirements, quest and reward rules, check your Journal using the event’s exact category and quest names, and treat replay and future returns as event-specific conditions rather than assumptions.
