What makes a TV a good match for Xbox Series X|S?

A “4K” specification by itself does not mean a TV accepts 4K at 120Hz. Check the exact model’s specifications for the resolution and refresh rate it can receive, and confirm which HDMI inputs support that combination.
Which gaming specifications should you compare?
Compare the features below against the signals and games you intend to use. A feature name alone is not enough: confirm the supported mode on the specific TV model and the relevant HDMI input.

- Resolution and refresh rate: Check whether the TV accepts 4K at 120Hz, rather than assuming it from a 4K label or a marketing reference to refresh rate.

Why exact 60-inch models need extra checking
TV performance can vary between screen sizes in the same product series. RTINGS notes that the 50-, 60-, 70- and 85-inch Hisense A6G versions differ from the 65-inch version it tested, and that its 65-inch results do not apply to those sizes. Do not use test results for a larger sibling as proof of how a 60-inch version performs. Check the exact model number’s specification sheet and seek independent testing of that size when available.

Should you consider 55- or 65-inch TVs?
Major brands rarely include 60 inches in their mainline premium lineups, according to Tom’s Guide, which recommends considering adjacent sizes when screen size can flex. How to verify a 60-inch TV before buying
- Record the full model number and country variant. Do not rely on a series name alone; screen-size and regional variants can differ.
- Check the manufacturer’s specifications for that exact model. Confirm native refresh rate, accepted resolution and refresh-rate combinations, VRR, ALLM, HDR support, and which HDMI inputs support the desired signal.
- Find independent measurements for the same size and model. Check input lag in the relevant gaming mode and signal configuration. If testing covers a different diagonal, do not assume its results apply.
- Verify current local stock and price. Availability and product lineups vary by region and change over time; neither should be inferred from an old review or a search result.
- Match the console output to the TV input. Use an HDMI input that supports the chosen resolution and refresh rate, and check whether the cable in your setup supports that signal. The available evidence does not establish that you need to replace the cable supplied with the console.
What can be recommended with confidence?
The evidence supports a model-by-model buying method, not a dependable current shortlist of exact 60-inch sets for Xbox gaming. The documented 60-inch Hisense A6G is an older example without 120Hz input, and its larger sibling’s test results cannot stand in for it.
