You can charge Powerbeats Fit with any suitable USB-C charging cable and a compatible power adapter. Put the earbuds in their case (or leave them out), plug the USB-C cable into the case, and connect the adapter to a power socket. Beats lists the cable and adapter as separate purchases, so a replacement cable is the normal solution when the original is missing.
The short answer
Powerbeats Fit charges through the USB-C port on its charging case. You do not need a Powerbeats-branded replacement cable: Beats and Apple describe the setup as a USB-C cable plus a compatible power adapter. If you already own an appropriate adapter, replacing only the cable is enough. If you have neither item, obtain both before attempting to charge.
The official procedure is straightforward: connect the cable to the case, connect the other end to the adapter, and plug the adapter into a socket. The earbuds can stay inside the case while it charges, or you can charge the empty case.
What you need
| Item | Requirement | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Powerbeats Fit charging case | The case with its USB-C charging port | Use the case supplied for Powerbeats Fit; another Beats model’s case is not a verified substitute. |
| Replacement cable | A USB-C charging cable with a plug that fits the case | Official instructions do not require a particular brand or a cable made specifically for Powerbeats. |
| Power adapter | A compatible adapter connected to mains power | The adapter is a separate item in Beats’ product listing. Its exact wattage is not specified in the cited instructions, so do not infer a required rating. |
| Power socket | A working electrical outlet | Use the outlet and adapter together as Apple’s documented charging method. |
Step-by-step: charge with a replacement cable
- Choose a suitable cable. Select a USB-C charging cable whose case-side connector is USB-C and physically fits the Powerbeats Fit case. A standard replacement cable is sufficient; there is no stated Powerbeats-only cable requirement.
- Prepare the case. You may leave both earbuds in the case, or remove them if you want to charge only the case. Make sure the connector and port are dry and free of visible debris.
- Connect the cable to the case. Insert the USB-C plug into the case’s USB-C charging port. It should seat without force. Stop if the plug does not fit normally and check that you have the correct connector.
- Connect the other end to the adapter. Attach the cable to a compatible power adapter. If you bought only a replacement cable, use the adapter you already know is suitable for charging USB devices.
- Plug the adapter into a power socket. Connect the adapter to a working outlet. This cable-and-adapter-to-socket arrangement is the charging path described in Apple’s Beats guide.
- Leave the case connected. Keep the cable connected while the case charges. The earbuds may remain inside and charge from the case, or the case may charge by itself.
Can the case charge without the earbuds?
Yes. Apple’s Beats User Guide explicitly states: “You can also charge the Beats Fit Pro, Powerbeats Fit, Powerbeats Pro 2 or Beats Studio Buds + case without the earbuds.” Therefore, remove the earbuds if you need to charge the case alone, or leave them in if you want the case to replenish them at the same time.

How to choose a replacement USB-C cable
Look for the connector, not a special label
The essential requirement is a USB-C connector that fits the charging case. The official product information does not name a preferred manufacturer, cable length, data standard, or Powerbeats-specific design. A cable sold as a general USB-C charging cable is the direct replacement category.
Replace the adapter too when necessary
A cable alone cannot provide power. If your missing accessory was the cable and you do not have a compatible adapter, obtain an adapter as well. Beats identifies both the USB-C cable and power adapter as sold separately. Do not assume that buying a cable automatically supplies the adapter.

Inspect condition before use
- Do not use a cable with exposed conductors, a split jacket, bent contacts, or a loose connector.
- Do not force a plug into the case. A connector that requires pressure or sits crooked may be the wrong type or may indicate damage.
- Keep the cable and case port dry. Disconnect power before cleaning the exterior, and never push metal objects into the port.
Wireless charging and other proposed workarounds
Apple’s charging guide specifies a USB-C cable and compatible adapter for Powerbeats Fit. On the same guide, Apple describes Qi-certified wireless charging for Powerbeats Pro 2, but it does not list wireless charging for Powerbeats Fit. That distinction matters: a Qi pad is not a documented Powerbeats Fit charging method.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute| Method | Status for Powerbeats Fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| USB-C cable plus compatible adapter | Documented | This is the procedure given by Apple and the setup listed by Beats. |
| Qi wireless charging pad | Not documented | The Qi instruction on Apple’s page applies to Powerbeats Pro 2, not Powerbeats Fit. |
| Phone reverse-wireless charging | Not documented | No official Powerbeats Fit instruction identifies a phone as a charging source. |
| Another model’s charging case | Not verified | Compatibility with a different Beats case is not established by the cited instructions. |
Do not buy a wireless pad or rely on reverse charging as a replacement for the missing cable unless Apple or Beats later publishes explicit Powerbeats Fit support. The supported answer to the missing-cable problem remains a replacement USB-C cable and compatible adapter.

What charging performance to expect
Beats lists these product specifications for Powerbeats Fit; the accessed product page does not state a publication year for the figures:
| Specification | Published figure | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Earbud playback | Up to 7 hours per charge | Beats product specification; “up to” is a maximum claim, not a guaranteed runtime for every use. |
| Total playback with the case | Up to 30 hours | Beats product specification including the charging case. |
| Fast Fuel | Up to 1 hour of playback from a 5-minute charge | Applies when the battery is low, according to Beats’ specification. |
These are playback specifications, not a promise that every adapter or cable will produce a particular charging time. The official material does not provide a required adapter wattage or a universal full-charge duration, so those numbers should not be invented from the playback claims.

Troubleshooting a replacement-cable setup
The plug will not go into the case
Check that the case-side connector is USB-C and that you are using the Powerbeats Fit case. USB-C plugs should insert smoothly. Remove the plug, inspect it and the port for lint or damage, and try again without twisting or forcing it. If the cable still does not fit, stop using it and obtain a correctly sized, undamaged cable.

- Unplug the adapter from the socket and reconnect it firmly.
- Reseat the cable at both the case and adapter ends.
- Try a different working socket.
- If available, test another known-good USB-C charging cable and compatible adapter.
- Leave the case connected for a while before judging the result, especially if the battery was fully depleted.
If multiple known-good cable, adapter, and socket combinations produce no charging response, the problem may be with the case, port, cable, or adapter rather than the missing original accessory. At that point, use Apple or Beats support for model-specific service guidance.

The earbuds do not gain charge while the case is plugged in
Remove and reseat each earbud in the case, then reconnect the cable. Check that the earbuds and their case contacts are clean and dry. You can also test the case by charging it without the earbuds, which Apple explicitly supports. If the empty case will not charge either, troubleshoot the cable, adapter, socket, and case as a group.
You are considering a wireless pad
Do not treat the absence of a cable as evidence that wireless charging is supported. Powerbeats Fit’s official charging instructions specify USB-C; the Qi information in the same Apple guide is for Powerbeats Pro 2. Use a cable unless an updated official guide specifically adds wireless support for Powerbeats Fit.
Safe charging habits
- Use an intact cable and a compatible adapter; replace either item if it is visibly damaged.
- Keep the case, cable, and adapter dry while connected.
- Do not force connectors, insert tools into the USB-C port, or improvise with another model’s case.
- Place the adapter where its ventilation is not blocked and disconnect it if you notice unusual heat, smell, smoke, or physical damage.
- Keep the earbuds in the case during charging only if they are seated correctly; otherwise charge the case empty and inspect the fit.
Source and date note
This procedure follows Beats’ official Powerbeats Fit product specifications and Apple Support’s Beats User Guide, checked on October 13, 2026. The Beats page identifies the USB-C port and lists the cable and power adapter as separate purchases. Apple’s guide documents charging through USB-C and confirms that the Powerbeats Fit case can be charged without the earbuds. The product page does not provide a publication year for its battery figures.
