Change a Path of Titans server map by editing ServerMap in Game.ini, inside [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]. Stop the server before editing, save the file, and perform a full restart. Use Panjura for Panjura, Island for Gondwa, or Riparia for Riparia. A modded map additionally needs its exact mod ID enabled in GameUserSettings.ini and its exact internal map name in Game.ini.
The map setting is read when the server starts, so changing a live process will not switch the current session. The reliable workflow is: stop the server, edit the correct configuration file, save it, then restart and allow the new map to load.

Path of Titans community servers select their map with one line in Game.ini. The line belongs under the [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession] section:
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]
ServerMap=Island
The value after ServerMap= is an internal identifier, not always the name players see in menus. That distinction matters for Gondwa: the documented value is Island, not Gondwa. If you type the display name instead of the documented identifier, the server may continue using its previous map or fail to load the requested one.

Built-in map identifiers
| Map players recognize | Value for ServerMap |
Map type | Important detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Panjura | Panjura |
Built-in | This is the documented default map. |
| Gondwa | Island |
Built-in | Use Island; entering Gondwa is not the documented configuration value. |
| Riparia | Riparia |
Built-in | Use the spelling and capitalization shown here. |
These identifiers come from the Path of Titans community-server documentation. They are configuration values, so capitalization and spelling should be treated as exact.
Prepare the server before editing
Make the change during a maintenance window if players are online. Editing while the server is running can leave you looking at an old process that has already loaded the previous map, and a later save by the host panel could overwrite your edit.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Stop the server completely. Use the host control panel’s Stop action, or the normal stop procedure for your installation. Wait until the panel reports that the process is no longer running.
- Locate the server configuration. Open the server’s
Saved/Configdirectory and findGame.ini. Managed hosts may expose the same file through a configuration editor or file manager instead of a visible folder tree. - Preserve the existing text. Before changing a line, copy the current section into a local note or use the panel’s backup feature when available. This gives you a known value to restore if the new map does not load.
- Check the section header. Locate
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]. If the section already exists, add or edit itsServerMapline rather than creating a second conflicting entry in another part of the file.
“The server must be stopped while editing server files. You must save your edits and restart your server for any edits to take effect.” — Path of Titans Hosting Wiki, Alderon Games community-server documentation.
Switch to Panjura, Gondwa, or Riparia
For a built-in map, only the ServerMap value is required. Follow this sequence for each change:
- Stop the server and confirm it is offline.
- Open
Saved/Config/Game.ini. - Find
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]. - Add the section if it is missing, then set one of the documented values below:
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]
ServerMap=Panjura
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]
ServerMap=Island
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]
ServerMap=Riparia
- Save
Game.ini. Verify that the editor did not append an extra extension such as.txtand that the section header and setting remain intact after saving. - Start the server and allow the startup process to finish.
- Join the server and verify the map in-game. If the server remains on its former map, stop it again before checking the configuration; do not edit the file while the process is active.
Do not add the player-facing word Gondwa as the value. The documented mapping is Gondwa to Island, which is why a correct-looking name can produce an incorrect result.
Change the map through a managed hosting panel
A control-panel host does not change the underlying setting. It simply gives you a different way to edit the same files. Open the panel’s configuration editor or file manager, select Game.ini, and edit the ServerMap line under the IGameSession section.

- Press the panel’s Stop, Disable, or equivalent action and wait for a stopped status.
- Open the file editor for
Game.iniin the server’s configuration area. - Enter
Panjura,Island, orRipariaas appropriate. - Use the panel’s Save or Apply control. If it offers both a file save and a separate configuration-save action, perform both.
- Use a full Restart rather than a soft reload. The map value is consumed during startup.
- Check the live server after it finishes loading.
Panel labels vary, but the setting remains ServerMap in Game.ini. If a panel provides a map drop-down, verify the resulting file rather than assuming the visible label is the internal value; Gondwa must ultimately produce ServerMap=Island.
Set up a modded map
A modded map needs two separate configuration changes. Enabling the mod alone does not select its map, and entering a map name alone does not download or activate the mod. Both files must agree.
1. Enable the map mod in GameUserSettings.ini
Open GameUserSettings.ini and find the [PathOfTitans.Mods] section. Add the mod’s exact EnabledMods ID supplied by the mod files or author:

[PathOfTitans.Mods]
EnabledMods=the_mods_exact_id
Replace the example token with the real ID. Do not substitute the workshop title, a shortened nickname, or the map’s display name. If the section already contains enabled mods, preserve the existing entries and add the map mod in the format required by the server’s configuration editor.

2. Select the internal map name in Game.ini
In Game.ini, under [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession], set ServerMap to the exact internal map name defined by the mod:
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]
ServerMap=TheGrimExpanse
TheGrimExpanse is an example of the required format. Your mod may use a different internal name. Read the name exactly as written in the mod files or documentation, including capitalization, and ask the mod author when the correct value is unclear. A title shown in a launcher or server list is not sufficient evidence that it is the value expected by ServerMap.
Best Value
3. Save both files and restart
- Stop the server before editing either file.
- Save the mod ID in
GameUserSettings.ini. - Save the internal map name in
Game.ini. - Check both files again after saving so a panel did not discard one edit.
- Restart the server fully and wait for the mod to load before testing.
Only one map mod can be active at a time. Other compatible categories of mods may be stackable, but two map mods are not. Disable the previous map mod before attempting to activate another map mod.
Why a modded map keeps loading Panjura
Panjura is the documented built-in default, so it is the common fallback when the server cannot resolve the requested mod map. Check the two-file relationship rather than changing random settings.
- The mod ID is missing: confirm that the exact ID appears under
[PathOfTitans.Mods]inGameUserSettings.ini. - The map value is a display title: replace it with the internal map name from the mod files. For example, a mod may display one title to players while requiring a different string after
ServerMap=. - Capitalization differs: compare every character with the name supplied by the mod author.
- Another map mod is enabled: remove or disable the competing map mod because map mods cannot run together.
- The restart was incomplete: stop the process, save both files, and perform a full start instead of relying on a reload.
After correcting the files, allow additional startup time for a large map mod. A longer load does not by itself prove that the configuration is wrong.

| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The server still opens on Panjura after selecting a built-in map. | The wrong file or section was edited, or the edit was not loaded. | Stop the server, open Saved/Config/Game.ini, confirm [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession] contains the intended ServerMap value, save, and restart. |
| Gondwa was entered but the server does not switch to it. | Gondwa is the display name, not the documented identifier. |
Use ServerMap=Island. |
| A modded map falls back to Panjura. | The mod is not enabled or the internal map name is wrong. | Verify the exact EnabledMods ID in GameUserSettings.ini and the exact internal name in Game.ini. |
| The map fails to load. | Spelling, capitalization, or a mod conflict is preventing resolution. | Compare both values with the mod files, disable any second map mod, and restart after saving. |
| Changes appear to be ignored immediately. | The server was running while files were edited, the file was not saved, or no restart occurred. | Stop first, save explicitly, then perform a full restart. |
| The server seems stuck during a modded-map startup. | The map mod may be large and require more loading time. | Wait longer before interrupting it; if it still fails, recheck the ID, internal map name, and mod conflicts. |
| The panel shows one value but the server behaves differently. | The panel editor may be writing a different configuration file or overwriting unsaved changes. | After stopping the server, inspect the actual Game.ini and GameUserSettings.ini contents, save through the panel, and restart. |
Revert from a modded map to a built-in map
To return to a built-in map, first select the built-in identifier in Game.ini, then remove or disable the map mod from GameUserSettings.ini. Keeping a map mod enabled while selecting a built-in map can leave an unnecessary dependency or create a conflict.
- Stop the server.
- In
GameUserSettings.ini, remove the map mod’s entry fromEnabledModsor disable it according to the host editor’s format. - In
Game.ini, setServerMaptoPanjura,Island, orRiparia. - Save both files and restart.
- Confirm the built-in map in-game before re-enabling any other mods.
This staged rollback isolates the map setting from mod dependencies. If the server loads the built-in map after the mod entry is removed, the earlier problem was within the mod configuration rather than the base-map setting.

Use this preflight and post-change checklist
Before saving
- The server process is stopped.
- You opened the server’s actual
Saved/Configfiles, not a local copy. Game.inicontains theIGameSessionsection.- The value is an internal identifier:
Panjura,Island,Riparia, or the mod’s exact internal name. - For a modded map,
GameUserSettings.inicontains the exact mod ID under[PathOfTitans.Mods]. - No second map mod is enabled.
After saving
- Reopen each file and confirm the text persisted.
- Use a full restart, not only a configuration refresh.
- Allow a large mod extra loading time.
- Join the server and verify the actual terrain before announcing the change to players.
- If the result is wrong, stop the server before making the next edit.
Key takeaways
For a standard Path of Titans server, map selection is one setting: ServerMap in Game.ini under [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]. Panjura uses Panjura, Gondwa uses Island, and Riparia uses Riparia. A modded map requires both an enabled mod ID in GameUserSettings.ini and the mod’s exact internal map name in Game.ini. Stop the server before editing, save the files, restart fully, and remember that only one map mod can run at a time.
