To change an Altis Life price, stop the server, edit the active mission’s price configuration, repack the mission if it is a PBO, restart the correct server instance, and verify the shop in game. Per-item prices normally live in Config_Clothing.hpp, Config_Vehicles.hpp, and Config_Weapons.hpp. Economy-wide fees and multipliers are controlled separately in config/Config_Master.hpp.
The critical detail is deployment: only the mission copy loaded by the running server matters. Editing an unused source folder, or editing a PBO without repacking it, will leave the in-game price unchanged.

Use an administrator account with access to the server’s file manager or host control panel. Make a backup of the mission before changing any configuration. A backup lets you restore the previous economy if a syntax error prevents the mission from loading or if a new price produces an unintended balance problem.
- Stop the server completely. Do not edit files while the instance is running. A running process can keep old files in memory, overwrite your changes during a restart, or make it unclear which instance you tested.
- Identify the active mission template. Standard Altis Life installations use
Altis_Life.Altis, but a custom fork may use a different mission name. - Determine whether the mission is loose or packed. A loose mission appears as a directory. A packed mission appears as
Altis_Life.Altis.pboinsideMPMissions. - Keep a text editor that preserves plain text. Avoid word processors that replace quotation marks or insert formatting characters.
The procedure documented for a typical hosted installation is to stop the server and open the game panel’s file manager at MPMissions/Altis_Life.Altis/. The exact panel labels can differ, but the underlying path and deployment logic are the same.

Find the configuration file for the price you want to change
In the standard AsYetUntitled v5.X.X layout, individual shop prices are separated by shop category. Open the file that corresponds to the item rather than changing a global setting.

The first three files are for a specific item or shop entry. Config_Master.hpp changes a category or calculation across many transactions, so it should not be used when you only want to change one jacket, car or weapon.

Open a loose mission folder
If the server contains an extracted mission directory, browse to MPMissions/Altis_Life.Altis/. From there, open the relevant configuration file and search for the item’s display name or classname.
- Stop the server from the host panel and wait until its status is fully stopped.
- Open the panel’s file manager.
- Open
MPMissions, thenAltis_Life.Altis. - Copy the mission folder or its configuration files to a safe backup location.
- Open
Config_Clothing.hpp,Config_Vehicles.hpporConfig_Weapons.hpp, depending on the shop. - Use the editor’s search function to find the exact classname or display name shown in the shop.
Some installations place the configuration directory under the mission root, so the full path to the master file is commonly MPMissions/Altis_Life.Altis/config/Config_Master.hpp. If your fork uses a different capitalization or directory, follow the layout actually deployed by that fork rather than creating a second copy.

Unpack a PBO before editing
A PBO is a packed mission archive. If MPMissions contains Altis_Life.Altis.pbo instead of a readable Altis_Life.Altis directory, edits made elsewhere will not be loaded. Unpack the PBO with a PBO utility, edit the extracted files, and repack the result.
- Stop the server and download or copy the existing
Altis_Life.Altis.pboas a backup. - Open the archive with a PBO utility. The framework setup documentation identifies PBO Manager as a packing tool.
- Extract the archive into a working folder. The extracted root should contain the mission files and directories, including the configuration files.
- Edit the extracted copy, preserving its directory structure and filenames.
- Pack the edited root back into a PBO named
Altis_Life.Altis.pbo. - Upload or replace the PBO in the server’s
MPMissionsdirectory, keeping the backup outside the live path.
The framework’s server-side code is normally a separate archive, life_server.pbo, located in @life_server/Addons. Do not replace that archive merely to change a normal shop price; the item configuration belongs to the mission PBO unless a custom script has moved the calculation elsewhere.
Change a single clothing, vehicle or weapon price
Understand the entry format
A standard price entry combines an item classname, a display name and a numeric price. In a clothing configuration, an entry can look like this:
"U_C_Poloshirt_burgundy", "Poloshirt Burgundy", 375In the documented example, the original numeric value was 250 and the replacement value was 375. The classname and display name identify the item; the final number is the price. Change only that number unless you intentionally want to change the item being sold or the name shown to players.

Change a clothing price
- Open
Config_Clothing.hppin the active mission copy. - Search for the clothing classname or its display name.
- Confirm that the matching entry belongs to the shop and side you intend to change. A fork can define similar clothing in more than one list.
- Replace the final numeric value, leaving quotation marks, commas and surrounding brackets unchanged.
- Save the file as plain text.
For example, changing the final value in the burgundy polo entry from 250 to 375 changes that listed clothing price. It does not automatically alter vehicles, weapons, resale values or fuel charges.
Change a vehicle or weapon price
Use the same method in Config_Vehicles.hpp or Config_Weapons.hpp. Search by the exact classname first; display names can be translated or duplicated. Once you find the correct entry, identify the numeric purchase field and edit that value without changing the class name, display text, commas or braces.
Do not assume that a vehicle’s purchase price also controls its rental, resale, impound or chop-shop amount. Those calculations can use separate multipliers in Config_Master.hpp. Likewise, a weapon purchase entry does not necessarily define ammunition, attachments or sell-back behavior.
Use Config_Master.hpp for category-wide economy changes
Open MPMissions/Altis_Life.Altis/config/Config_Master.hpp only when you intend to affect a broad calculation. The documented defaults and examples below are from the AsYetUntitled v5.X.X layout; a custom fork may rename variables or calculate the value in a script.

Fuel-can buy and sell settings require particular care because the framework documentation warns that an unbalanced combination can create an exploit. The same documentation warns that chop-shop and impound multipliers should not exceed the relevant purchase or rental multipliers. Treat those warnings as economy constraints, not as suggestions to maximize a single payout.

When a multiplier is the wrong tool
If one vehicle is too cheap, edit that vehicle’s entry in Config_Vehicles.hpp. Raising a civilian purchase multiplier to correct one vehicle also raises every civilian vehicle affected by that multiplier. If only one fuel station or one item should differ, first verify that the standard configuration actually supports a per-entry value; otherwise a custom script may be required.
Save, repack, restart and verify
Saving the text file is not the deployment step. The server must load the edited mission on a clean restart.
- Save the changed configuration file.
- Review the edited line for balanced quotes, commas, brackets and a valid numeric value.
- If you extracted a PBO, repack the complete mission and replace the live
Altis_Life.Altis.pbo. - Confirm that the filename and mission name match the template selected by the server.
- Start or restart the correct server instance. A restart of a different instance or test server will not update the production shop.
- Join the server and open the relevant shop.
- Check the item’s displayed price and, if practical, complete a controlled purchase using a test character.
Hosting guidance summarizes the final deployment action as: “Save then restart the server and check your changes have been accepted.” The verification matters because a successful file upload does not prove that the running mission loaded that file.

Troubleshoot an old price or a server that will not load
The old price still appears
- Wrong copy: You edited an extracted folder while the server loads a PBO, or you edited a local source while the host loads another upload.
- PBO not repacked: Changes inside a working directory cannot affect an archive that was never rebuilt and uploaded.
- Wrong mission name: The server may run a custom template rather than
Altis_Life.Altis. - Incomplete restart: Stop the instance fully, then start it again. Confirm that the panel reports the new process as running.
- Duplicate entry: The same classname may occur in different side or shop lists. Search the entire relevant file and check the list used by the shop you opened.
- Custom calculation: A fork can override the standard configuration with scripts or dynamic pricing. In that case, the visible value may not come from the file you edited.
The server fails to start or the mission fails to load
Restore the backup first, then reapply one change at a time. Check every quote, comma, bracket, class name and numeric value around the edit. A missing comma or an accidental smart quote can invalidate the configuration. Do not make several unrelated economy edits before confirming that the mission starts; isolating one change makes the faulty line easier to find.

Altis Life configurations often keep separate lists for civilian, cop and medic roles. A price changed in one list will not necessarily change a parallel list. Recheck the exact shop and side, then search for duplicate classnames in the same configuration file.
The price changes but the fee does not
Purchase, rental, resale, storage, chop-shop and impound transactions can use different calculations. An edited vehicle catalogue value does not guarantee that every related fee changes. Inspect the relevant multiplier in Config_Master.hpp only if you intentionally want that broader behavior.
Keep syntax and backups safe
- Make one logical change, save, restart and test before editing another category.
- Keep the original PBO and the original loose files outside the live mission directory.
- Do not rename class names while changing a price; a typo can make the item disappear from the shop.
- Use ordinary ASCII quotation marks and preserve the existing indentation and delimiters.
- Record the old value, new value, file path and date in your change notes so you can reverse the edit.
- After a framework update, compare the updated mission against your backup before copying old configuration files wholesale; custom versions can move or rename definitions.
Version and fork boundaries
The paths and variable names in this guide reflect the AsYetUntitled v5.X.X layout and a conventional Altis Life hosting setup. They are not a promise that every fork uses identical files. Custom missions may rename Config_Clothing.hpp, move the configuration directory, combine categories, or calculate prices dynamically.
Before changing a nonstandard server, identify the mission selected in the server configuration, inspect its actual MPMissions contents, and search the codebase for the classname or variable that produces the displayed price. If the mission is packed, work from the PBO that the server really loads. If a custom script writes or overrides prices at runtime, editing the standard header alone will have no visible effect.

- One clothing, vehicle or weapon: edit the matching entry in

- No effect after restart: verify the active mission, PBO state, upload target and server instance before changing more values.
Following that sequence keeps a per-item adjustment narrow, makes a global economy change deliberate, and gives you a recoverable path when a fork or deployment layout differs from the standard mission.
