To remove a Samsung Galaxy Watch4 band, push its spring bar inward and pull the band away from the watch. To install a replacement, seat one spring-bar end in a lug, push the other end inward, and position it in the opposite side. Watch4 models use 20 mm bands, but Samsung warns that some third-party bands marked 20 mm may not fit the Watch4 lug shape.
Remove the Galaxy Watch4 band
- Set the watch on a stable surface and hold it securely.
- At one attachment point, push the band’s spring bar inward and pull that end of the band away from the watch.
- Repeat at the other lug to remove the band completely.
Samsung’s instructions describe pushing the spring bar inward to release the band. The spring bar on the supplied band is integrated and cannot be removed from that band; you can still detach the complete band from the watch lugs. Install a replacement band
- Place one end of the replacement band’s spring bar into a watch lug.
- Push the other spring-bar end inward and position it at the opposite side of the lug.
- Release the spring bar so it connects, then check that both ends are seated and the band is secure before wearing the watch.
The final security check is a practical precaution; Samsung’s instructions explain how to connect the spring bar but do not specify a separate test procedure. Choose the right band size
The Galaxy Watch4 series uses a standardized 20 mm band width. Samsung lists both Galaxy Watch4 case sizes—40 mm and 44 mm—as compatible with 20 mm bands. Watch4 Classic models in 42 mm and 46 mm are also listed as 20 mm-compatible. These case-size labels do not change the stated band width. A 20 mm label alone does not guarantee a third-party band will attach: Samsung warns that some bands with that width may not fit the Watch4 series lug shape. When shopping, check the seller’s compatibility details for your exact Watch4 or Watch4 Classic model as well as the stated width.
