To give Gemini a whole webpage, save it as a PDF from Chrome or capture it with Safari’s Full Page screenshot option on iPhone, then attach the saved file in Gemini Apps. A PDF is usually practical for a long, text-heavy page; a screenshot preserves more of its visual layout. If Gemini in Chrome is available to you, you can also ask about an open page or select a region without saving a file.

These options are not available in identical ways on every browser, device, account, or country. Google’s help pages describe Gemini file uploads and Gemini in Chrome workflows, but availability can vary. See Google’s Gemini Apps file-upload help and its screen-selection instructions.
Save a webpage as a PDF on desktop Chrome
- Open the webpage in Chrome and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Choose File → Print. You can also use the platform’s print shortcut.
- In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF as the destination, if that option is available.
- Save the file, then open it to check that the relevant content is present.

- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Tap More → Share → Print.
- In the print screen, select Save as PDF.
- Choose where to save the document and save it.
- Open the PDF and check that the page content you need is included.

Capture a full-page screenshot or PDF on iPhone Safari
Make a full-page screenshot
- Open the webpage in Safari and take a screenshot using your iPhone’s screenshot controls.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail before it disappears.
- Choose Full Page to view the capture beyond the visible screen.
- Inspect the preview and crop it if needed, then save the screenshot using the available save option.
Apple documents this option for capturing content beyond the screen, including an entire webpage in Safari. The controls and save options are described in Apple’s iPhone screenshot guide.
Save a Safari webpage as a PDF
- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Open the page menu, tap Share, then choose Markup.
- Tap Done, then tap Save File To and choose a location.
- Open the saved PDF to verify the material you want Gemini to analyze is present.

Attach the saved file in Gemini Apps
- Open Gemini Apps and start a prompt.
- Choose Add files and select the PDF or screenshot from your device.
- State what you want Gemini to do, and ask it to distinguish what the capture explicitly says from its interpretation.
Google’s current help page documents up to 10 files in one prompt, subject to availability; supported files other than video can be up to 100 MB. These are documented limits, not a guarantee that every file type or limit is available to every account. Check Google’s upload and file-analysis help for current details.
A useful prompt gives Gemini a specific task and boundaries, for example: “Summarize the page’s main argument and list its evidence,” or “Compare the recommendations in this capture; quote the relevant wording and flag anything unclear.” A clear prompt helps define the task; it does not guarantee a correct analysis.

Use Gemini in Chrome when you do not need a saved capture
In supported desktop setups, Gemini in Chrome can use page context directly. If you only need help with a particular visual detail or passage, its screen-selection workflow can attach a selected region to your prompt. These options depend on support and availability for your device and country; they should not be assumed to work in every Chrome setup. Saving a file does not guarantee every part of a website will be preserved. Dynamic content, embedded media, login-gated sections, or print styling may result in missing material. The official capture instructions do not guarantee complete rendering for every site.

- Content is missing: Wait for the page to finish loading before capturing. Open the saved file and check the specific section. If it is absent, try the other capture format or use Gemini in Chrome if the workflow is supported for you.
- The PDF looks different from the webpage: Printing creates a document, and a site’s print styling may differ from its on-screen layout. Try a full-page screenshot when visual layout is important.
- The screenshot does not include the full page: On iPhone Safari, select Full Page from the screenshot preview rather than saving only the default screen capture.
- Gemini will not accept the attachment: Check the current file and size guidance in Google’s help. The documented limits are subject to availability and may not apply identically to every user.
- The page requires a login or contains interactive material: A saved capture may not preserve restricted or interactive content. Confirm that the needed information is visible in the file before relying on it for analysis.

Should I upload a PDF or a screenshot?
Choose based on what matters in your task: a PDF is a portable document for text-heavy pages, while a full-page screenshot keeps an image-like view of layout. There is no universal guarantee that one format produces better Gemini analysis.
Can Gemini analyze an entire open webpage without an upload?
