How to Cancel GTA+ Before Your Free or Promotional Month Ends

In most cases, you keep GTA+ access until the paid or promotional period ends, but you will not be charged for the next renewal.

Cancel GTA+ through the original purchase store

Rockstar Games Customer Support states that you may cancel auto-renewal “at any time through the store you initially purchased your subscription from” (support article updated December 2, 2025). The store, not GTA Online itself, controls the billing agreement.

Before changing anything, sign in to the account that was charged. Then find GTA+ in that account’s subscriptions and disable renewal. Record the displayed renewal or expiration date and look for a confirmation such as canceled, expires on, or recurring billing off.

These are different billing systems, not interchangeable cancellation methods. If GTA+ is missing from one account, check which account and storefront originally processed the charge rather than repeatedly canceling in the game.

Before you cancel: identify the right account and date

Many failed cancellations are account mix-ups rather than a problem with GTA+. A Rockstar account linked to your game can be different from the Steam, Epic, Microsoft, or PlayStation account that actually billed the membership. Rockstar Games Launcher on PC (GTAV Enhanced)

1. Open Rockstar Games Launcher and sign in to the Rockstar account associated with GTA+.
2. Select GTA+ in the launcher.
3. Choose Manage GTA+.

Which account is signed in? What renewal or end date does that account display? Does the page explicitly show that recurring billing is off?

How to confirm that GTA+ will not renew

A cancellation is not complete until the billing store shows the changed status. Check all of the following:

• The subscription is listed under the account that was charged.

Rockstar says auto-renewal can be canceled at any time. You do not need to wait until the last day, and canceling early ordinarily does not remove the remaining membership period. If you are close to that date, act immediately rather than waiting for a particular hour. No cross-platform cutoff time or processing duration is published. What you keep after canceling—and what ends

Turning off renewal normally stops the next charge rather than ending GTA+ immediately. Rockstar says membership benefits remain active until the subscription terminates under the applicable store’s terms.

Cancellation therefore has two separate effects: it prevents the next renewal, while the later membership end removes ongoing entitlements. Claimed property, vehicles, cosmetics, bonuses, and deals are not treated the same as recurring monthly benefits.

Claim limited-time benefits before the end date

Canceling does not preserve an unclaimed member benefit. Rockstar explains that some property, vehicle, cosmetic, or event rewards must be claimed during a specified member-only event. If the event ends before you claim the item, the opportunity is lost; once the subscription ends, unclaimed benefits are forfeited.

• Open GTA+ or the relevant in-game event page before your membership end date.
• Claim any property, vehicle, cosmetic, bonus, or deal you intend to keep.

Rockstar’s June 24, 2026 guidance describes one specific promotion: a month of GTA+ included with a qualifying digital preorder of Grand Theft Auto VI. Under that offer, the included month auto-renews monthly at the regular price unless canceled. Rockstar also says eligibility and redemption rules vary by platform. That example should not be treated as proof that every GTA+ member has the same one-month period or the same billing date.

Rockstar separately describes GTA+ as optional, cancellable at any time, and billed through monthly renewals. To determine when your promotional access ends, open the original store account and use the renewal date shown there. If the account calls the offer a trial, promotion, or included month, that label does not change which store controls cancellation.

What cancellation does not do

Uninstalling GTAV, removing a payment card, signing out of the Rockstar Launcher, or deleting a console user does not follow Rockstar’s stated cancellation route. Likewise, stopping renewal is different from disputing a charge or requesting a refund. The cancellation steps here address future renewals. Any separate billing question must be handled through the store that processed the transaction, using the account and confirmation details for that purchase.

Troubleshooting when GTA+ is missing or still appears active

The subscription is not listed

Check every storefront account that could have been used: Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam, Epic Games, Microsoft/Xbox, and PlayStation. You cannot tell whether a benefit was claimed

Check the relevant GTA+ or in-game page and your account inventory, properties, or vehicles while membership is active. An advertised offer is not the same as a claimed reward. If the event has ended or membership has expired, Rockstar says an unclaimed benefit is forfeited.
