To manage a Windows 11 printer’s jobs, open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, select the printer, then choose Open print queue. From there, you can inspect pending work, cancel one job, or troubleshoot a queue that will not move.
Open the correct printer queue
- Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the printer whose jobs you want to manage.
- Choose Open print queue. Microsoft Support says, “The Print Queue window opens and displays a list of the pending print jobs waiting to print on the printer.” (View a printer’s print queue in Windows.)
- If more than one queue is available, use the queue window’s Printers menu to verify which printer is selected before making changes.
Each queue belongs to a particular printer. Checking the selected queue first helps avoid canceling work intended for a different device.
Cancel one job or clear the queue
Cancel a single print job
In the queue window, select the job you want to remove and choose Cancel. Use this when only one document is unwanted or appears to be holding up other work.

Cancel all pending jobs
If you intend to remove every pending job, Microsoft’s offline-printer guidance includes a Cancel all option when jobs are present. This affects all work in the selected printer’s queue, so confirm the printer and make sure you do not need any listed jobs before using it. (Troubleshooting offline printer problems in Windows.)

Check pause, offline status, and connectivity
If a job remains pending or nothing prints, first check whether the queue has been paused or marked offline.
- In the queue window, open the Printer menu.
- If Pause Printing is selected, clear it. If Use Printer Offline is selected, clear that as well.
- Check that the printer is powered on and connected. The relevant connection check depends on whether it uses Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or USB.
For additional connection and printing checks, see Microsoft’s Fix printer connection and printing problems in Windows.

Restart Print Spooler for a persistent stuck job
If ordinary cancellation and connection checks do not resolve a stuck queue, restarting the Print Spooler is a supported next troubleshooting step. The spooler manages print jobs; restarting it is broader than canceling one item. Microsoft’s instructions are in Fix print spooler service not running errors in Windows.
- Open the Services app in Windows.
- Find and restart Print Spooler.
- Check the printer queue again to see whether the pending jobs can proceed.
Reset spool files only if the queue still will not clear
If canceling jobs and restarting the service do not fix the problem, Microsoft’s more disruptive reset procedure is to stop Print Spooler, delete the files in the spool folder, then restart the service. Deleting those files removes queued print data; this is not the normal way to manage an individual job.
