Skydance Corporation’s publicly traded Class B common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under SKYD. To buy it, search for SKYD in a brokerage account that supports U.S. exchange-listed stocks, verify the issuer and share class, check the live quote, and place an order. The symbol changed from PSKY when the shares moved from Nasdaq to the NYSE on October 6, 2026, so older quote pages may be out of date.
Identifying the ticker is the easy part. Skydance has recently completed a major acquisition, taken on substantial secured debt, and disclosed a large warrant distribution that could dilute common shareholders. Its Class B shares are nonvoting. Before investing, check the current filings and notices for the company’s debt, post-acquisition results, warrant status, share count, and valuation.
What Skydance stock is—and which ticker to search
The current public security is Skydance Corporation Class B common stock, listed on the NYSE as SKYD. The company’s October 6, 2026 SEC filing reports the move from Nasdaq and the ticker change from PSKY. In a brokerage quote screen, confirm all three details—issuer, share class, and exchange—before submitting an order. An old PSKY quote or a result for the former private Skydance Media entity is not the current listing.

WBD’s shares ceased trading when Skydance announced the acquisition’s completion on October 6, 2026. Under the transaction terms, WBD shareholders received cash consideration of $31.01666668 per WBD share. That was the consideration for WBD shares in the acquisition, not a price target or value for SKYD.
How to buy SKYD through a brokerage account
These steps describe the general process; broker interfaces, account eligibility, fees, order controls, and access to particular securities vary. This is not a recommendation to buy the shares.
- Open or use an eligible brokerage account. Choose an account that permits trading U.S. exchange-listed stocks. Complete any identity, funding, and trading-permission steps required by the broker.
- Search for SKYD. Select the result identifying Skydance Corporation Class B common stock on the New York Stock Exchange. Do not assume a saved watchlist item, search result, or legacy PSKY page has refreshed.
- Review the live quote and order preview. Check the current bid and ask, recent trading activity, quote timestamp, trading session, and any broker notice. The $9.50 figure in Skydance’s October 2026 prospectus supplement was the last reported Nasdaq sale price on October 2, before the NYSE transfer; it is historical, not a current quote.
- Choose an order type and quantity. A market order prioritizes execution but not a particular price. A limit order sets the maximum price you are willing to pay, but may not execute. Check the broker’s order preview, including estimated amount and any applicable fees, before confirming.
- Submit and verify the order. Review the confirmation and order status. If an order remains open, is partially filled, or is rejected, use the broker’s status details before placing another order so you do not unintentionally duplicate an order.
- Save the issuer’s filings and notices for follow-up. Skydance’s investor-relations site links to filings, earnings materials, and shareholder resources. SEC filings are especially important for updated share counts, debt terms, warrant disclosures, and results after the acquisition.
Do not use an old symbol as a shortcut if a broker search does not return the expected security. Check the broker’s security details and a current issuer or exchange notice. Interface labels and the availability of extended-hours trading differ by broker; this article does not establish that a particular broker offers any specific feature.

Understand the warrants before assessing dilution
Skydance’s October 2026 prospectus supplement described a planned distribution of one transferable warrant for each eligible Class B share held of record on October 5, 2026. Its supplemental FAQ listed October 13 as the expected issue date and October 14 as the ex-dividend date. Because the expected issue date is today, October 13, those dates are not proof that distribution, settlement, or separate trading has occurred as planned. Check a current issuer or NYSE notice and the account record at your broker for the actual status.

Eligibility and receipt
The record date determines which holders may qualify under the distribution terms; buying SKYD after the October 5 record date does not, by itself, make a buyer eligible for that distribution. The issuer’s FAQ says eligible holders need to hold through the issue date to receive the warrants. The prospectus also excludes specified restricted holders and certain plans and trusts. For an account held through a broker nominee, ask the broker how it handles eligibility, allocation, and any fractional entitlement or rounding rather than assuming each account receives a whole warrant for every share.
Exercise price, term, and trading
Each warrant initially entitles its holder to buy one Class B share for $12, subject to anti-dilution adjustments and the governing warrant terms. The prospectus described an expected ten-year term, with possible earlier expiration in specified circumstances. It expected separate trading under the symbol SKYDW, but stated that an orderly or liquid market was not assured. Confirm whether warrants have actually been issued, whether the symbol is active, and what the final terms say before treating them as readily tradable.
A warrant is not the same as a share. Its holder may exercise, sell, transfer, or let it expire, subject to its terms; it does not automatically provide Class B shareholder voting or dividend rights. The exercise price also matters: a warrant’s economic value depends on the common-share price, remaining term, adjustments, market liquidity, and settlement rules—not just on its existence.

The October 2 supplement reported 1,093,020,754 Class B shares outstanding. It estimated that full physical exercise of the registered warrants would increase that count to 1,564,320,754 before the PIPE transaction. That scenario is not a prediction that all warrants will be exercised. It illustrates the scale of possible dilution if exercise occurs. A shareholder who does not exercise may own a smaller percentage of the company after other holders acquire shares through exercise.

The supplement disclosed up to 471.3 million warrants. Skydance’s FAQ estimated approximately $5.7 billion in potential gross cash proceeds if approximately 471 million warrants were issued and all were exercised for cash at $12. That is a conditional issuer estimate, not cash already received or guaranteed future financing. Actual proceeds would depend on how many warrants are issued and exercised, the settlement form, and costs. Recheck subsequent filings for final warrant issuance, exercise, and share-count information.
What the acquisition means for the business and its financing
The completed WBD transaction combines businesses across studios, streaming, television, news, sports, content libraries, and franchises. The range of assets creates potential for cross-business opportunities, but a larger portfolio also makes integration, capital allocation, and the evaluation of results more complicated. Company descriptions of the combined business and its plans are issuer statements, not independent confirmation that those plans will succeed.
Acquisition funding is one of the most important near-term issues for a prospective shareholder. In its October 6, 2026 Form 8-K, Skydance reported issuing senior secured notes on October 5 totaling $41.4 billion in U.S.-dollar notes—$30.0 billion of first-lien and $11.4 billion of second-lien notes—plus €885 million of second-lien notes. These disclosed issuances are a significant part of the financing picture, but they are not a complete current balance sheet or a full account of future obligations.

Acquisition and integration spending can also affect cash available to service debt.

Separate management targets from reported results
In its October 6 acquisition announcement, Skydance described several forward-looking operating and financial goals. They are useful to track as management’s stated plan, but they are neither achieved results nor guaranteed outcomes.
| Issuer-stated target or commitment | What it means for an investor |
|---|---|
| At least 30 theatrical films annually | A stated annual film-release commitment; follow actual releases and economics rather than treating the target as a forecast of profit. |
| A minimum 45-day theatrical window | A stated minimum window before films move beyond theaters; assess how distribution decisions affect the company’s results when reported. |
| 180+ television shows or series | An issuer-stated scale commitment. The figure alone does not show production cost, audience demand, licensing income, or profitability. |
| At least $6 billion in run-rate synergies within three years | A management target, not savings already realized. Look for reported integration costs and evidence that recurring savings are being achieved. |
| More than $10 billion in free cash flow by 2030 | An issuer expectation. Check the company’s definition of free cash flow and subsequent reported results before comparing it with other companies. |
| Net leverage of 3.0x by year-end 2029 | A leverage goal. The calculation’s definitions and progress matter; a target does not show that the company is on track or that debt risk is low. |
The acquisition announcement cautioned readers not to rely on forward-looking statements. The company specifically warned that expected synergies, financial goals, integration, and leverage targets might not be achieved on time or at all. Compare targets with reported results over successive periods, including any changes in assumptions, rather than using them as if they were current performance.

Control and shareholder rights
The Class B shares are nonvoting. Skydance’s disclosures also describe concentrated ownership and controlled-company status, with exemptions from certain NYSE governance requirements. A buyer of public Class B shares therefore should not assume the shares provide meaningful influence over corporate decisions. Read the current charter and filings for the precise rights attached to the share class and how control is exercised.

Compare debt obligations and interest costs with operating performance and cash generation in the latest filings. Review maturities and covenants as well as headline debt totals. A company’s ability to generate cash while funding content, operations, and integration is relevant to whether it can meet obligations and reduce leverage on the timetable management has stated.
Best Value
Integration and operating execution
Track the costs of combining operations and whether the company reports progress toward synergies. Also examine retention of creative talent, content spending, streaming economics, advertising, distribution, and any restructuring or impairment charges. These are areas where the combined business may face operating trade-offs; the stated target alone cannot resolve whether the strategy is working.
Share count and warrant developments
Use current SEC filings and issuer notices to verify the common-share count, final warrant distribution and terms, trading status and liquidity, exercise activity, and any resulting dilution. Distinguish the October 2 share count and prospectus scenarios from updated figures after the acquisition and warrant events.
Valuation and personal fit
A current valuation cannot be inferred from the October 2 historical Nasdaq quote. Obtain a fresh SKYD quote and current financial statements, then assess the share price in relation to reported revenue, operating performance, debt, cash generation, and potential dilution. If comparing the company with another media business or an alternative investment, compare business mix, streaming profitability and churn where reported, advertising exposure, leverage and maturities, free cash flow, integration demands, valuation, voting rights, ownership concentration, and dilution. Franchise names or subscriber totals alone do not establish that one security is better valued.
The materials cited here do not establish a current market price, independent valuation, analyst consensus, or independent validation of management’s targets. That makes a current quote and up-to-date financial statements essential inputs, not optional details. No conclusion about whether SKYD is suitable for a particular person follows from the ticker or the acquisition announcement.
Key dated figures to keep straight
| Figure | What it describes | Qualification |

Where to verify updates
Use Skydance Corporation’s investor-relations site to locate its current SEC filings, earnings materials, and shareholder notices. The October 6, 2026 Form 8-K and prospectus supplement are useful for understanding the transaction financing and disclosed share and warrant figures, but subsequent filings may update them. Check an NYSE notice or current issuer announcement for listing and warrant trading status. Use the brokerage quote screen for a live security quote rather than relying on dated prospectus prices or archived pages.
