To buy Nebius Group shares, use a brokerage account that accepts orders for Nebius Group N.V. Class A ordinary shares on the Nasdaq Global Select Market. Search for the current ticker NBIS, verify the issuer, share class and exchange in the order ticket, then choose the quantity, order type, duration and funding method before submitting. Whether you can trade NBIS depends on your country, broker and account terms.

This is a procedure for placing a securities order, not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold NBIS. Check current company disclosures and your broker’s terms before investing.

The company formerly used the name Yandex N.V. and the ticker YNDX. Nebius announced the name and ticker change in August 2024. An old webpage, watchlist entry or search result may still display YNDX, so do not rely on a historical symbol alone. The order ticket should identify Nebius Group N.V., Class A ordinary shares and Nasdaq.

#1 Best Overall

Trading had been suspended beginning February 28, 2022. Nebius announced that Nasdaq trading would resume on October 21, 2024. Those are historical events; they do not prove that NBIS is available through every broker today or that an order will execute when you submit it.

For investment research, use current company filings and disclosures. Nebius’s 2025 Form 20-F/A was filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on May 22, 2026. A brokerage order screen is not a substitute for reading the issuer’s latest information.

Confirm that your broker can trade NBIS

A ticker appearing in a general quote search is not enough. Broker availability varies by country, regulation, account type, market access and the firm’s own instrument list. Before transferring money or entering an order, obtain confirmation that the broker accepts orders for Nebius Group N.V. Class A ordinary shares (Nasdaq: NBIS) in your specific account.

Questions to ask or check in the broker’s platform

  • Is the instrument available to residents of your country?
  • Is it enabled for your account type, such as an individual cash or margin account?
  • Does the order ticket show Nasdaq Global Select Market rather than an unrelated over-the-counter or foreign listing?
  • Are ordinary shares supported, rather than a derivative, certificate or unrelated security with a similar name?
  • Which order types and trading-hour restrictions apply?
  • Will the broker handle a U.S.-listed security for your account, and what currency will be used for settlement?

If the answer is unclear, contact the broker before placing an order. A broker may restrict an instrument for a particular jurisdiction even when another customer can trade it.

Prepare the brokerage account

You need an open, funded brokerage account with permission to trade the relevant U.S.-listed security. During account opening, brokers generally request identity, tax, contact, employment, financial, investment-objective and investing-experience information. Review the firm’s relationship summary and its background and disciplinary history before deciding whether to use it.

Cash versus margin

Confirm whether the account is a cash account or a margin account instead of assuming the application’s default.

Account type How the purchase is funded Main point to check
Cash You pay the full purchase price with available cash. Make sure enough settled or otherwise usable cash is available under the broker’s rules.
Margin The broker may lend against account assets. Borrowing creates interest charges and can increase losses; review the margin agreement and current borrowing terms.

Margin availability does not make an investment safer. If you do not intend to borrow, verify that the order will be funded from cash and understand how the broker treats unsettled proceeds or other account balances.

Fund the account and identify all charges

Allow time for your deposit to become usable under the broker’s funding policy. Before ordering, calculate the amount you intend to invest and review the broker’s complete cost schedule. Potential charges include a commission or markup, account fees and a foreign-exchange charge when the account’s base currency differs from the currency used for the trade or settlement. Fees vary by broker, country and service level, so use the order preview and the firm’s current schedule rather than assuming that a “commission-free” label means the transaction has no cost.

Compare brokerage routes before you choose one

If more than one broker is available to you, compare the practical terms that affect this particular order. A low headline commission may not be the lowest total cost if currency conversion, account fees or limited order access add expense.

Comparison point What to verify Why it matters for NBIS
Eligibility Country residency, account type and permission to trade NBIS Availability is not universal, and a quote page does not establish order access.
Total cost Commission or markup, account charges and any currency-conversion fee International transactions can involve costs beyond the displayed share price.
Order controls Market and limit orders, duration choices and any trading-hour restrictions The controls determine how price and execution uncertainty are handled.
Funding and borrowing Cash requirements, margin interest and borrowing rules Borrowing can increase both the amount invested and the loss exposure.
Information and support Trade confirmations, issuer information and customer support for a U.S.-listed foreign issuer Foreign investments can involve different information availability and legal remedies.

International investing can also involve currency exposure, different liquidity conditions, different information availability and different legal remedies from a domestic investment. Nebius is a foreign issuer even though its shares are listed in the United States.

Step-by-step: place an NBIS share order

  1. Sign in and verify the account. Confirm that you are using the intended brokerage account and that it has the required trading permissions and usable funds.
  2. Search for the current symbol. Enter NBIS in the broker’s instrument search. If the result shows YNDX, an old company name or an exchange other than Nasdaq, stop and investigate rather than assuming it is the same orderable security.
  3. Open the instrument details. Check that the security is identified as Nebius Group N.V. Class A ordinary shares and that the exchange is Nasdaq Global Select Market. Read any instrument-specific warnings, trading restrictions or market-hours notice.
  4. Choose the quantity. Enter the number of shares you want to buy, or a dollar amount if the broker explicitly supports amount-based orders. Review whether the platform accepts fractional or whole-share quantities; use only the quantity formats the broker presents.
  5. Select an order type. Choose a market order or a buy limit order according to your price and execution priorities. The differences are explained below.
  6. Set the duration. Select the order duration offered by the broker, such as the platform’s available day or other validity setting. Do not assume that an unfilled order remains active indefinitely; read the duration shown on the ticket.
  7. Review the preview. Check the estimated purchase amount, commission or markup, currency conversion, account used, order type, limit price if applicable, duration and any warnings. Confirm that the issuer, class and exchange still match NBIS.
  8. Submit the order. Place the order only after checking the final confirmation screen. Submission sends instructions to the broker; it does not guarantee an execution.
  9. Monitor the status. Return to the order activity page and look for a status such as pending, partially filled, filled, cancelled or rejected, using the broker’s own labels. Keep the final trade confirmation, which records the executed quantity and price.

Choose between a market order and a buy limit order

Market order

A market order seeks the best available price and generally attempts to execute promptly. The execution price is not guaranteed. If available liquidity changes while the order is being routed, different portions of the order may fill at different prices. The displayed quote is therefore an indication, not a guaranteed purchase price.

A market order may be unsuitable when controlling the maximum price matters more than immediate execution. Read the broker’s warning and any trading-session restrictions before sending one.

Buy limit order

A buy limit order sets the highest price you are willing to pay. It can protect you from paying above that limit, but it may not execute at all. A trade occurring near your limit does not prove that your order filled: other orders may have priority, available shares may have been insufficient, or the order may have expired.

After placing a limit order, check the actual status and final confirmation. Do not purchase again simply because the quote moved close to your limit, and do not treat a pending order as an executed position.

Duration and partial execution

The broker’s duration menu determines how long an unfilled order remains eligible. Use the exact duration displayed in the ticket and note its expiration or cancellation behavior. A market order or limit order can also be filled in more than one part, depending on available liquidity and the broker’s routing process. The confirmation, not the initial quote, establishes what you actually bought.

Understand currency conversion and international costs

NBIS is listed in the United States, while your account may use another base currency. If so, the broker may convert funds for the purchase, convert proceeds when you sell, or apply a conversion charge. The method and rate can differ by broker. Review whether the order preview shows a currency conversion, the rate or spread used, and a separate fee.

Compare the total amount withdrawn from your account with the value of the shares. A commission-free order can still have a currency cost or account charge. Keep records of the trade confirmation and any conversion information supplied by the broker for your own accounting and tax reporting.

What to do after submitting the order

Check the order state

Use the broker’s order-activity screen to determine whether the instruction is pending, partially filled, filled, cancelled or rejected. If it is rejected, read the reason before trying again; possible causes include insufficient usable funds, missing trading permission, an instrument restriction or an invalid order setting. Contact the broker when the explanation is unclear.

Read the final confirmation

The confirmation should identify the security, executed quantity, execution price, trade date and charges shown by the broker. Save it with your account records. If only part of the requested quantity executed, the remaining portion may still be active, expired or cancelled depending on the duration and broker rules.

Do not infer ownership from a quote

A price chart, watchlist entry or market-data alert shows information about the instrument; it does not prove that your order executed. Only the broker’s execution status and confirmation establish the transaction.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

Searching only for YNDX

YNDX is the former ticker associated with the company before the August 2024 name and symbol change. Search for NBIS and verify the current issuer and exchange in the order ticket.

Choosing a similarly named instrument

Confirm all three identifiers—Nebius Group N.V., Class A ordinary shares and Nasdaq. A name match without the share class and exchange can lead to the wrong security.

Assuming every broker supports the stock

Broker access depends on jurisdiction and account terms. Ask the broker directly and check the live order ticket rather than relying on a third-party quote page.

Using margin accidentally

Check the account designation and available cash before submitting. Margin borrowing can add interest and magnify losses. If you want a cash purchase, make sure the order is placed in the cash account with sufficient funds.

Treating the limit price as a guarantee of execution

A buy limit controls the maximum price, not whether a purchase occurs. Check the order status and confirmation instead of assuming that a nearby market trade filled your order.

Ignoring currency conversion

Review the conversion rate, spread and fee when your account currency differs from the trading currency. Include that cost when comparing brokers.

Be alert to unsolicited tender offers

A routine exchange order through your brokerage account is different from accepting a tender offer. In its October 17, 2024 announcement about the resumption of Nasdaq trading, Nebius said that third parties might have launched tender offers for a minority of its Class A shares. The company stated that it was not involved in or authorizing those offers and recommended independent legal and investment advice.

If you receive an email, message or account notice asking you to tender shares, read the offer documents carefully and verify the sender through your broker and the issuer’s current disclosures. Do not assume that a tender request is part of the normal process for buying NBIS on Nasdaq. The issuer’s statement was: “The Company is not involved in, and has not authorized, such offers.”

Use current issuer information

Company names, symbols, trading status and disclosures can change. Before making an investment decision, check the latest Nebius filings and announcements rather than relying on an old article that still uses YNDX or describes the 2024 resumption as if it were a current event. The May 22, 2026 filing of the company’s 2025 Form 20-F/A is one example of a dated disclosure; later filings may contain newer information.

Broker mechanics and issuer research answer different questions. The broker tells you whether and how you can submit an order. Company filings help you evaluate the investment itself. Neither removes the need to consider your objectives, risk tolerance, tax position and applicable local rules.
