Buy FC Points only through the Ultimate Team Store, your console or PC platform’s official store, the EA app where available, or a retailer EA identifies as trusted. Never give a seller your EA password, verification code, or account access. FC Points are not Ultimate Team Coins: EA says Coins are earned in-game and warns that buying or distributing Coins through third parties can put your account at risk.
Where can you buy FC Points?
EA identifies several purchase routes: the Ultimate Team Store, the official store for your platform, the EA app where available, and trusted retailers. EA also says physical retailer cards can be redeemed for FC Points. These categories are not interchangeable: the right option depends on where you play, where you live, and whether you are buying a card or purchasing directly in a game or store.

Use the official store belonging to the platform on which you play, and verify the game, platform, region, and redemption instructions before paying. An offer to sell a code is not proof that the seller is trusted or that the code will work for your account. EA’s buying guidance is the right place to confirm the purchase method for the specific game and region.

When comparing routes, focus on whether EA identifies the channel, whether it supports your platform and region, how the Points are delivered or redeemed, and which company handles the payment. Do not assume that an offer is better because it advertises a lower price, and do not treat an unfamiliar listing as legitimate just because it uses FC branding. Current prices and the authorization of individual sellers are not established by the fact that retailer cards exist as a product category.

If you are considering a physical card or code, check the seller and the card’s stated platform, region, and game compatibility before buying. Follow the redemption instructions that come with that card. If any of those details are unclear, choose a purchase route EA identifies directly rather than guessing whether a code will work.
How to buy FC Points through the in-game store
- Open Ultimate Team in your game. Use the game installed on the platform where you want to use the Points.
- Open the Store and select the FC Points tab. EA’s instructions describe buying directly from Ultimate Team’s Store.
- Choose a bundle. Check the amount shown in the purchase screen rather than relying on an outside seller’s description.
- Review and complete the payment prompts. Confirm the account and payment method displayed by the official platform or game flow before approving the transaction.
- Check for the Points in your game. If they do not appear, follow the missing-Points troubleshooting steps below before buying again.
Keep a record of the purchase confirmation or transaction details. That makes it easier to identify the purchase in the platform’s transaction history if the Points are delayed or a charge needs investigation. Confirm that the account shown in the purchase flow is the one you intend to use; a purchase tied to the wrong account may not appear where you expect.
How to buy through the EA app or Companion App
EA app
- Sign in to the EA app using your EA Account.
- Search for FC Points.
- Select the FC Points add-on and the bundle you want.
- Review the payment details and complete the purchase through the app’s prompts.
If the add-on or bundle is not displayed, do not switch to an unsolicited seller offering to “fix” access. Check EA’s current instructions and the official store for your platform; availability can differ by platform and region. A missing option does not by itself mean you need to share account details with anyone or buy through a third party.

EA’s stated availability is limited by platform and region: Companion App purchases for PlayStation and Xbox players are available only in the United States, while the feature is available to PC players in all regions. For console users, EA directs purchases to the console web store through the app. If the purchase option is missing, that may reflect these availability rules rather than a problem with your account. Check the current instructions for your game and region before trying another route.
These distinctions matter when deciding where to pay. The Companion App is not a universal checkout route for every console player: a PlayStation or Xbox player outside the United States should use the console store route EA directs them to, while PC availability is stated to cover all regions. For any platform, follow the purchase instructions currently shown for the specific game rather than relying on an old guide or a seller’s claim that a regional restriction can be bypassed.
How to tell a safe offer from a scam
The safest test is whether the purchase happens through a channel EA identifies and whether you remain in control of your own account. A normal Points purchase does not require a stranger to log into your EA Account, take control of your console, or receive your verification code.

- Use only an identified channel. EA says to buy FC Points from the Ultimate Team Store, your console’s store, or trusted retailers. Its buying guidance also describes purchases through the EA app and eligible Companion App routes.
- Keep credentials private. EA says it will never ask for your password, verification codes, or login credentials through email, social media, forum messages, or console messaging systems. Treat those requests as scams, even if the message uses EA branding or claims your purchase is at risk.
- Do not hand over account access. Sharing account information violates EA’s rules. A seller who asks you to provide login details to add Points or Coins can use that access to take Coins, items, players, or the account.
- Do not confuse Coins with Points. A third-party offer to sell Ultimate Team Coins is not an alternative way to buy FC Points. EA says Coins are earned in-game and warns against buying or distributing them through third parties.
- Do not assume a code listing is approved. EA’s recognition of physical retailer cards does not verify every online marketplace seller, listing, or code. Check that the seller is trusted and that the code matches your platform, region, and game.
- Sign in only on official pages. If a message sends you to a sign-in page, do not use it just because it looks familiar. Navigate to the official EA or platform sign-in yourself.
Phishing attempts are designed to obtain account information and passwords, which can expose account and payment information. Be wary of urgency, threats of account suspension, unusually cheap offers, or claims that someone needs your credentials to deliver a purchase. The request for credentials is enough reason to stop; you do not need to determine whether the sender is genuine.

A person claiming to be support, a seller, or someone helping with a transaction does not need you to send those details. Go to EA or your platform by navigating to its official sign-in page yourself, not through a link in an unexpected message.
Also separate the safety of the payment channel from the safety of the account. An ordinary purchase through an official store is different from a coin seller asking for your login, and EA’s Coin-trading warnings should not be read as a warning against normal FC Points purchases. The practical boundary is simple: use an identified purchase route, keep your credentials private, and do not let another person conduct the transaction inside your account.
FC Points and Ultimate Team Coins are different
FC Points are a paid currency sold through the purchase routes above. Ultimate Team Coins are earned in-game. EA says players can earn Coins by playing matches and selling items at fair prices; buying or distributing Coins through third parties is against its rules and can put an account at risk.
EA also warns that using the Transfer Market to buy or distribute Coins can lead to limited or revoked Transfer Market access. Those warnings concern Coins and account sharing; they should not be confused with an ordinary FC Points purchase made through an official channel. If a seller advertises “cheap Points” but asks you to buy Coins, move items through the Transfer Market, or share account details, do not proceed.
Coin sellers may ask for account information to carry out a transaction. EA warns that this can expose the account, Coins, items, and players to theft. Even if a seller promises to return access afterward, handing over credentials is account sharing and puts control of the account in someone else’s hands. Earn Coins through matches and fair-priced item sales instead of using third-party Coin services.

What can FC Points be used for?
EA lists eligible uses that include Ultimate Team Store packs and stadium customization, Draft entries, Evolution slots, the Season Pass, and cosmetic items in the Clubs Store. FC Points are optional; they are not required to play Ultimate Team. Check the in-game store for the specific items available to your game and account before purchasing a bundle.
Because Points can be used for different eligible items and content, decide what you intend to use them for before choosing a bundle. Availability is determined by the game’s store; do not rely on an outside listing to establish that a particular item, feature, or bundle is available to your account. You can also choose not to buy Points: EA says they are not required to play Ultimate Team.
EA states that EA Play subscribers get a 10% discount on FC Points bundles, subject to conditions, limitations, and exclusions. Verify the current offer and terms in the relevant purchase flow before counting on a discount; do not assume it applies to every platform, region, or transaction. Check the price and terms shown at checkout rather than relying on a general discount claim from a third-party seller.
Who handles payment problems and refunds?
The billing owner depends on where the purchase was made. EA says purchases through Xbox, PlayStation, and mobile games use those platforms’ billing systems. For a fraudulent charge through one of those routes, contact the relevant platform: Xbox, PlayStation, Apple, or Google. For eligible fraudulent charges made through an EA Account, EA can help with the charge and account security.
If you suspect someone else used your account, secure it through official EA account channels and contact the billing provider shown on the transaction. Do not respond to a message offering to recover the charge in exchange for your password or verification code.
Before opening a billing case, identify where the transaction was processed. Check the transaction history for the account and store used to make the purchase; the company that billed you is the right starting point for a charge dispute. For an EA Account charge, EA can help with eligible fraudulent charges and account security. For Xbox, PlayStation, Apple, or Google billing, contact that provider rather than expecting EA to handle a platform-billed transaction.

Keep the transaction information and report the charge through the billing provider’s official support route. If account access may have been compromised, address account security through official EA channels as well. Do not immediately purchase the same bundle again: a second transaction could create another charge without resolving the first one. EA recommends checking the platform transaction history, restarting the game, checking direct EA communications or service status for known issues, and contacting support if the Points remain missing.
- Confirm the purchase in the correct transaction history. Check the history for the platform or store used to pay. Make sure you are looking at the account used for the purchase.
- Restart the game. Close and reopen it, then check the relevant balance again.
- Check EA communications or service status. Look for a notice about a known issue affecting delivery.
- Contact support if the Points are still missing. Provide the transaction details and identify the purchase route. If the charge was billed by Xbox, PlayStation, or a mobile platform, contact that platform’s support for billing issues.
Work through the steps in order: first establish whether the purchase completed, then refresh the game, then check for a known service issue. If it is still unresolved, give support the transaction details and say whether you bought through the game, EA app, platform store, or a retailer card. That helps distinguish a delayed delivery from a billing question. If you paid through a platform, its transaction history and billing support are particularly important for charge questions.
