You can buy cryptocurrency through Coinme and send it to a Polygon wallet, but only when Coinme’s live send screen offers the same Polygon network for the asset you bought. The safe sequence is: fund Coinme, prepare a Polygon-compatible wallet, copy that wallet’s receive address for the exact token, choose Transact → Send in Coinme, verify the asset and Polygon network, inspect the live fee preview, and then confirm.
Coinme warns that a transfer sent on a different network can be lost permanently. Asset support shown on Coinme’s public pages does not by itself prove that every account can withdraw every asset over Polygon PoS, so the network selector in your own account is the final compatibility check.
What you need before starting
Have these items ready before opening the send form:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- A verified Coinme account with a balance you are allowed to send.
- A Polygon-compatible wallet, such as MetaMask, installed and backed up.
- The exact asset you intend to receive, such as USDC or a Polygon-supported token.
- The wallet set to Polygon mainnet, not Ethereum or another network.
- A reliable way to copy and paste the destination address without changing a single character.
- Enough time to read the network, destination, amount and fee in Coinme’s final preview.
Coinme says users can buy with cash at participating retailers or Coinstar locations, or with Visa and Mastercard debit cards. Availability depends on the state and on the account and transaction type. Coinme’s public site says it operates in 48 U.S. states and lists Polygon (MATIC), USDC and other assets, while its ATM information lists Polygon and USDC among assets available for cash pickup. Those statements establish that the assets appear in Coinme’s public offering; they do not guarantee that a particular asset can be sent directly over Polygon PoS from your account.

The decisive check: does Coinme offer Polygon for your asset?
Do this check before buying a large amount. Coinme’s public help instructions explain how to send to an external address and warn against using a mismatched network, but they do not publish a complete, permanent table of withdrawal networks for every asset. Coinme can change network options by asset, account, location or product.
- Open the Coinme send flow far enough to select the asset you plan to withdraw.
- Look for a network choice or a clearly labeled Polygon/Polygon PoS option.
- Confirm that the destination wallet is also set to Polygon mainnet for that same asset.
- If Polygon is missing, the selector is ambiguous, or the asset name does not match, stop. Do not guess based on the fact that both networks use similar-looking addresses.
- Contact Coinme support if the available choices do not clearly identify Polygon PoS.
Only proceed when the asset, network and destination are unambiguous in both applications. This check matters more than the appearance of the wallet address: an address can look valid while the network carrying the funds is wrong.
Step 1: Create and fund your Coinme account
Choose cash or debit card
For a cash purchase, use a participating retailer or Coinstar location shown as available to you. For a card purchase, Coinme says Visa and Mastercard debit cards can be used, subject to its eligibility and state restrictions. A credit card, prepaid card or card issued under different rules may not work even if the payment network logo looks similar.
Enter the purchase amount and asset only after you understand where the resulting balance will be held and whether an external send is available. If your objective is a Polygon wallet, buying an asset merely because it is listed for purchase is not sufficient; the send screen must later expose Polygon for that asset.

Understand the cited debit-card costs and limits
Coinme’s fee page lists the following figures for the cited debit-card purchase tier:
| Item | Published figure | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Exchange fee | Up to 5.49% | Debit-card purchases; the actual quote is the amount shown to you. |
| Card-processing fee | 3.25%, with a $1 minimum | Debit-card purchases; the minimum applies where the calculated fee would be below $1. |
| Daily purchase limit | $2,500 | Cited debit-card purchase tier. |
| Monthly purchase limit | $100,000 | Cited debit-card purchase tier. |
| External send fee | Network fee calculated at initiation | The amount is displayed in the transaction preview before submission and is separate from the purchase quote. |
These are published maximums and cited limits, not a promise that every user, state, asset or transaction will receive the same allowance. Read the quote in your account for the amount you are actually buying. Cash-purchase pricing and location-specific charges are not established by the figures above, so use the cash quote displayed at the point of sale.
Step 2: Prepare a Polygon wallet
Use Polygon mainnet, not a similarly named network
Polygon’s official MetaMask guidance identifies Polygon mainnet with chain ID 137, native currency symbol POL, and Polygonscan as the block explorer. Polygon is available directly in MetaMask, so you normally select it from the network list rather than adding an unofficial chain configuration.

Account for the MATIC-to-POL migration
Polygon completed the MATIC-to-POL migration in September 2024. POL is now the native gas and staking token on Polygon PoS. A wallet with old settings may still display “MATIC,” but the transaction-fee requirement on Polygon PoS is POL. The label shown by a wallet can therefore be stale even when the chain is correct.
Polygon support recommends holding POL directly on Polygon mainnet when you need to execute Polygon transactions. If you are receiving USDC or another token, plan to obtain a small POL balance before attempting a later transfer, swap or contract interaction. Receiving a token does not automatically provide gas for the next transaction.
Protect the recovery phrase
Write down the wallet’s secret-recovery phrase using the wallet’s approved backup process and keep it offline. Never send it to Coinme support, a “helper,” a website or anyone claiming to need it for a withdrawal. Polygon’s guide states that anyone with the phrase can take the wallet’s assets. A Coinme transfer requires a public address, never your recovery phrase or private key.
Step 3: Copy the correct receive address
- In the destination wallet, switch to Polygon mainnet.
- Open the receive function for the exact asset you bought. If the wallet asks you to choose a token, select that token rather than relying on a generic account screen.
- Copy the displayed address with the wallet’s copy button.
- Paste it into a temporary note or directly into Coinme; do not type it manually.
- Compare the first and last several characters after pasting. If anything changed, recopy the address.
Many Polygon-compatible addresses use the same hexadecimal format as addresses on other EVM networks. That visual similarity is not a safety signal. The address, token contract and network must all agree. A USDC address on Polygon is not interchangeable with a deposit instruction that specifically requires Ethereum, another layer-2 network or a different token representation.

Step 4: Send the cryptocurrency from Coinme
Coinme’s web and mobile instructions use the same basic path:
- Sign in to Coinme.
- Open Transact.
- Choose Send.
- Select the cryptocurrency you intend to withdraw.
- Paste the copied Polygon wallet address into the recipient field.
- Enter the amount. Check whether the amount is the amount sent or the amount deducted after fees.
- Select Polygon or Polygon PoS if Coinme presents a network selector, and verify that it matches the wallet.
- Review the destination, asset, network, amount and fee in the complete preview.
- Confirm with your Coinme passcode only after every field is correct.
Do not approve a screen that shows only an address while leaving the network unstated or unclear. If the send form does not expose Polygon for the selected asset, treat that as an incompatibility until Coinme support gives you a definitive, asset-specific answer.
Step 5: Read the fee preview and submit deliberately
Coinme says external-send fees are network fees calculated when the transaction is initiated and shown before submission. The displayed amount can therefore differ from an earlier estimate. Check the preview immediately before confirming, especially if you waited, changed the amount or switched assets.

- Asset: The symbol must be the token you intend to receive, not a similarly named asset.
- Network: It must identify Polygon/Polygon PoS when that is your destination.
- Destination: Compare the pasted address with the address in the wallet.
- Amount: Verify units and decimal placement.
- Fee: Confirm the network fee and the net amount that will arrive.
Once submitted, a blockchain transfer is irreversible. Coinme’s guidance says confirmation time can range from minutes to longer periods depending on network activity. Do not submit a second transfer merely because the first one is still pending; first check the transaction status and explorer record supplied by the service.

What happens after confirmation
Wait for network confirmations
A successful submission may remain pending while the transaction is broadcast and included in a block. Network activity affects the wait. Keep the Coinme transaction record and, when available, its transaction hash. Use the hash in Polygonscan only after confirming that the transfer was sent on Polygon; an explorer for another network will not show a Polygon transaction.
Check the wallet on the right network
In MetaMask or another wallet, remain on Polygon mainnet and open the asset view. A token may not appear automatically even when it has arrived; adding the token’s verified contract display can make the balance visible. Do not import a token from an unverified message or website simply because the name resembles the asset you purchased.
Plan the next transaction
If the received balance is USDC or another token, keep a small POL balance for future gas. Sending the token onward, swapping it or interacting with a Polygon application requires POL for transaction fees. The original Coinme transfer does not automatically reserve POL for those actions.
Cash versus debit-card funding
The practical choice depends on how you value convenience, location access and the available quote.
Cash at a retailer or Coinstar location
- Useful when you do not want to use a bank debit card.
- Requires a participating location and a trip to that location.
- Availability depends on your state and the location’s supported assets and services.
- Review the on-screen quote and any location instructions before handing over cash.
Visa or Mastercard debit card
- Can be completed online or in the supported Coinme flow without a cash pickup visit.
- The cited debit-card tier lists up to 5.49% exchange fee plus 3.25% card-processing fee, with a $1 minimum for the processing fee.
- The same cited tier lists $2,500 per day and $100,000 per month purchase limits.
- Your bank, state, account verification and the selected asset can impose additional restrictions.
Neither funding method removes the Polygon compatibility check. A purchase route and a withdrawal route are separate decisions.
Common failure modes and what to do
| Symptom | Likely issue | Safe response |
|---|---|---|
| Polygon is not offered for the selected asset | Coinme may not support that withdrawal network for the asset or account. | Do not submit. Contact Coinme support for an asset-specific answer or choose a route whose network is explicitly supported. |
| The wallet shows MATIC instead of POL | Old wallet labeling or network settings after the 2024 migration. | Verify Polygon mainnet and chain ID 137, then check that POL is the native gas token. |
| The address looks correct but the network is different | EVM address formats can look identical across networks. | Cancel before confirmation and set both sides to the same network. |
| The token is not visible after the transfer | The wallet may not have the token display enabled, or the transaction may still be pending. | Check the transaction status and hash on Polygonscan, then use the wallet’s verified token-import process if the transfer is confirmed. |
| The transfer is pending longer than expected | Network activity or service processing delay. | Wait for the stated status to change and avoid sending a duplicate. Contact Coinme with the transaction details if the delay persists. |
| Funds were sent on the wrong network or to the wrong address | Irreversible destination or network error. | Coinme warns that funds sent using a different network can be lost and cannot be recovered. Contact the recipient or service immediately, but do not assume recovery is possible. |
| The wallet has the token but a later transaction fails for gas | No POL is available on Polygon mainnet. | Acquire a small POL balance on Polygon before trying the transaction again. |
Use a small test transfer when the amount matters
For a substantial withdrawal, send a small amount first if the minimums and fees make that practical. The test should use the same asset, destination wallet and Polygon network as the planned transfer. Wait for confirmation, verify the balance in the wallet and only then send the remainder. A test cannot rescue a wrong network after submission, but it can expose a copy-and-paste error, an unsupported asset route or a wallet-display problem before the larger transfer.
Final pre-confirmation checklist
- The Coinme account is funded and the selected asset is the one you want.
- The destination wallet is open on Polygon mainnet.
- Chain ID 137 is shown or otherwise verified for Polygon mainnet.
- The wallet address was copied, not typed.
- The Coinme send screen explicitly identifies Polygon/Polygon PoS for that asset.
- The asset symbol matches in Coinme and the wallet.
- The fee preview has been read in full and is acceptable.
- You understand that the transfer cannot be reversed after confirmation.
- You have a plan to obtain POL before using the received token in a later Polygon transaction.
- Your wallet recovery phrase remains private.
Bottom line
Coinme can be a convenient way to buy cryptocurrency with cash or a debit card and move it to a Polygon wallet, but the transaction is safe only when the live Coinme send screen explicitly supports Polygon for the exact asset. Set the wallet to Polygon mainnet (chain ID 137), use the copied receive address, inspect the network and fee preview, and confirm only after every detail matches. If the network choice is absent or unclear, stop rather than guessing.
