Zankou has two distinct build paths in NTE: use Ravenous Blade, Crimson: Twin Butterflies, and CRIT-focused stats for an on-field main DPS; choose a Lacrimosa setup emphasizing Reaction Strength for a DoT-team sub-DPS. Both recommendations come from a community guide, not independently measured performance, and its English skill and item names may be provisional.
Choose Zankou’s role before choosing her gear
The NTE Wiki build guide treats Zankou primarily as an Incantation main DPS, while also listing a separate DoT-team sub-DPS configuration. The choice changes the Cartridge set and stat priorities, so these are not interchangeable versions of one build. The character reference describes her as switching between Reality and Illusion forms and applying Heart-Erosion and Vile Ash damage-over-time effects; those English names are not confirmed authoritative localization.
On-field main DPS build
Arc: Ravenous Blade
The guide recommends Zankou’s signature S-rank Gas Arc, Ravenous Blade (噬心詭刃), for the main-DPS setup. It reports that at refinement 1 the Arc grants 16% CRIT Rate and adds 9% CRIT DMG per Incantation-damage trigger, stacking up to seven times for 15 seconds. These are guide-reported effect values, not a guarantee of current client text; check the live game for the effect, refinement terminology, and balance-patch changes.

Cartridge set and stats
- Cartridge set: Crimson: Twin Butterflies (真紅:雙生蝶).
- Main stat: Incantation DMG or CRIT DMG with the signature setup.
- Substats: Prioritize CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, then ATK%.
Modules
The guide recommends Type III specialized Modules. It reports +16% CRIT DMG for each matching Module, a figure also reported by NTE Life. Confirm the effect and current module naming in the client.

Lower-rarity Arc options
The guide names Watch Your Heads! (小心頭頂) at refinement 5 as its preferred four-star alternative. It reports a CRIT DMG substat and an ATK buff after using a Redirect Skill. The refinement requirement matters: the guide does not present an unrefined copy as equally strong. For this setup, it specifies CRIT Rate as the main stat, rather than the Incantation DMG or CRIT DMG options it lists for Ravenous Blade.
Fluff of Finesse (靈敏之綿) is another guide-listed option, but its damage bonus depends on landing perfect dodges and building stacks. It fits players who can reliably use that play pattern; the available source does not establish its current acquisition route or exact live-client effect values. Treat both Arcs as lower-rarity alternatives, not as guaranteed free or readily obtainable equipment.

DoT-team sub-DPS build
For a DoT composition, the guide recommends a Lacrimosa DoT set instead of Crimson: Twin Butterflies. It lists Reaction Strength or CRIT DMG as the main-stat emphasis, with Reaction Strength first among substats. This is a role-specific community recommendation; the cited material does not establish an independently tested ranking or quantify how the configuration performs against other team builds.

The build guide says, “The first 5 s of Illusion are her highest-damage window, so charge in quickly.” That is the guide’s rotation advice, not a developer statement. It aligns with treating Zankou as an on-field damage dealer, but the cited build material does not provide a complete step-by-step rotation. Use the live skill descriptions to confirm form and skill names, since the guide flags its English glosses as provisional.

What to verify in the current client
The principal build guide is dated September 8, 2026, and warns that numbers may change with balance patches. Before committing resources, check the current client for Arc and Module effects, item names, refinement labels, and acquisition availability. The guide’s recommendations are useful starting points, not official developer documentation or independently measured performance results.
