How to Fish is a Dazed Games co-op shooter-fishing game. The shotgun appears in the Forest Island/Island 2 progression and is best treated as a close-range option: its spread is useful when a target is near enough for pellets to connect. One published shotgun guide suggests using successive lure tiers to build income and buying the next available bullet step when the money is there, rather than postponing all damage investment until endgame. - Start with Beginner Brown ($3). Use the entry lure tier while building funds for early bullet upgrades.
- Switch to Standard Pink ($15). Move up when affordable and continue buying the next damage step as income permits.
- Step up to Professional Orange ($50). Keep scaling bullet damage alongside your earning progression.
- Move to Scientific Shrimp ($500). Continue the same incremental approach for later, more expensive upgrades.
The same guide advises cooking and selling early catches and lists dynamite at $25 as another guide-level money-making detail. A broader spending guide, by contrast, emphasizes clearing progression blockers, buying weapons, and obtaining each island’s local lure; it says those local catches are more valuable, particularly after cooking. Attachment prices are listed per weapon in the broader upgrade reference, and attachments do not add damage. Availability is tied to progression: the broader reference places Laser Sight on Island 2; Red Dot Sight, Compensator, and Extended Mag on Island 3; and Sniper Scope and Suppressor on Island 4. However, the shotgun-specific entry explicitly says this weapon has no Extended Mag and remains at two shells. Do not spend money expecting to expand its capacity.

- Choose bullet upgrades when increasing the shotgun’s listed per-projectile damage is your priority.
- Choose an attachment when its aiming or recoil effect addresses a handling need; it will not raise damage.
- Keep a ranged alternative for distant targets, since the shotgun’s spread favors close engagements.
- Protect progression funds if a route blocker, weapon unlock, or island-specific lure is needed to keep earning or advance.
The shotgun’s listed $26,540 max-upgrade total is from independent fan references rather than developer documentation. The version-specific Field Database entry is marked confirmed for 1.0.11, and a separate guide says it checked its figures against Patch 1.0.11 and was updated September 2, 2026.
