Build Rhiannon as a team-support unit who deals Mental damage, not as a selfish critical-hit carry. The current guide consensus is to take her to Insight III, equip The Soft Rain of Yesterday, and shape Resonance around ATK and Max HP. Pair her with a main damage dealer, one other support, and a sustain character. That setup lets Rhiannon improve a roster’s weak link without forcing you to abandon a team archetype that is already complete.
Exact kit wording, psychube values, and upgrade-material costs can change with the live client. The recommendations below reflect current secondary guides, including Prydwen, HostedGG’s October 3 update, AllThingsHow, and OSLink; check Rhiannon’s in-game tooltips before spending rare materials.
Rhiannon’s job on a team
Rhiannon is a Beast character with Mental damage and a support or all-rounder profile. Her value is measured by what the whole party can do after she joins, rather than by the size of her own critical hits. Build her to enter her support cycle reliably, survive long enough to keep applying team benefits, and add useful damage while your primary attacker takes the spotlight.
This distinction affects every choice:
- Psychube: choose a team-oriented effect that matches her role tags.
- Resonance: favor ATK and Max HP, with defensive value after those priorities are covered.
- Insights: treat Insight III as the important breakpoint because it improves her opening and support timing.
- Team slot: use her where a flexible support repairs a roster gap; do not replace a fully functioning archetype automatically.
Recommended build at a glance
| Build area | Recommendation | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Team support with Mental damage | Her guides emphasize buffs, debuffs, and party value over personal carry damage. |
| Psychube | The Soft Rain of Yesterday | Its All-Rounder and Beast conditions fit Rhiannon, and its effects benefit the team. |
| Alternative psychube | Family Mentor | Situationally useful when the team can build its effect through frequent Moxie use. |
| Resonance stats | ATK and Max HP first; then survival or defensive utility | These stats support both her contribution and the time she remains active. |
| Insight target | Insight III | It grants entry-combat Moxie and begins Raptor Kinship at 70% according to the current upgrade guide. |
| Standard team shell | Main damage dealer, Rhiannon, another support, sustain | This gives her a clear support job without leaving the party exposed. |
The best psychube for Rhiannon
The Soft Rain of Yesterday: default choice
The Soft Rain of Yesterday is the strongest general recommendation in the current guides. HostedGG’s October 3 update identifies its All-Rounder and Beast conditions as a natural fit for Rhiannon. Prydwen describes it as her signature psychube and highlights teamwide damage and Critical Damage benefits.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
It is the default because it improves the result that matters most when Rhiannon is built correctly: the party’s damage window. A psychube that raises the team’s output can outperform one that gives Rhiannon a larger personal number, especially when your main attacker has the better scaling, card economy, or ultimate payoff.
Use it when:
- Rhiannon is supporting one clearly defined damage dealer.
- You want a reliable general-purpose option rather than a condition-heavy experiment.
- Your team benefits from both additional damage and Critical Damage support.
- You are building Rhiannon for mixed content and do not want to change psychubes between encounters.
Family Mentor: a Moxie-dependent alternative
Prydwen also lists Family Mentor. Its teamwide Critical Damage effect takes longer to stack and depends more heavily on how often the party uses Moxie. That makes it a tactical alternative, not the starting recommendation.
Consider Family Mentor when your planned team regularly generates and spends Moxie and can keep the effect active during the damage windows that matter. If the team rarely reaches its stacks, the delayed payoff can leave Rhiannon weaker than she would be with The Soft Rain of Yesterday.

Resonance: ATK and Max HP first
Why ATK matters
ATK improves Rhiannon’s own Mental damage while also supporting a kit whose team contribution is tied to acting consistently. It is the first offensive stat to prioritize because it helps her deal useful damage without changing her into a dedicated carry.

Why Max HP matters
Max HP gives Rhiannon a larger margin for error and helps her remain on the field through longer encounters. A support who is defeated before the party reaches its damage cycle contributes nothing, so Max HP is not a cosmetic defensive choice; it protects the turns in which her buffs and debuffs matter.
What to add after ATK and Max HP
Fill remaining Resonance value with survival or defensive utility that matches the content you are clearing. Prioritize the stat that prevents the failure you actually see: more durability for repeated incoming damage, or another defensive option when a specific encounter punishes a fragile support.

Treat that pattern as a practical starting point rather than a universal requirement. Resonance layouts depend on the pieces available to your account and on whether Rhiannon is dying, missing an important turn, or simply contributing too little damage.
Stats not to chase as the main plan
Do not build Rhiannon around personal critical stats before ATK, Max HP, and survival are addressed. Her guides consistently frame her as a team-support unit. Personal critical investment can be reasonable after the core needs are met, but it should not displace the stats that keep her support cycle running or improve the party’s overall output.
Should you take Rhiannon to Insight III?
Yes, Insight III is the key upgrade target identified by the current team-building guide. AllThingsHow reports that this level grants entry-combat Moxie and starts Raptor Kinship at 70%. Those opening resources help Rhiannon reach her support cycle sooner instead of spending the first part of a fight only preparing.

What the breakpoint changes in practice
- Faster opening: entry-combat Moxie gives her an immediate resource advantage.
- Earlier Raptor Kinship: beginning at 70% reduces the distance to the associated support timing.
- More consistent turn planning: your damage dealer can receive Rhiannon’s contribution earlier in a battle.
The benefit is largest in content where the first damage window decides the run, where enemies punish slow setup, or where short battles end before a lower-Insight Rhiannon reaches full value. It is also useful in longer fights because an earlier start gives her more opportunities to cycle through her support actions.

AllThingsHow lists material quantities for the Insight upgrades, but those costs are secondary-guide transcriptions and should be checked against the current client before you farm or spend them. The exact amount can be affected by the game version or by a guide becoming outdated. Confirm the requirement on Rhiannon’s Insight screen, then compare it with the cost of upgrading the rest of your active team.
When to delay Insight III
Delay the investment only when another unit is an immediate progression bottleneck—for example, your main damage dealer cannot clear the next content tier or your sustain unit is failing to survive. That is an account-progression decision, not evidence that Insight III is poor for Rhiannon. Once your core damage and survival needs are met, Insight III is the milestone that most directly improves her intended role.
Choosing teammates
The most useful Rhiannon team has four jobs: a main damage dealer, Rhiannon, one additional support, and a sustain character. The names below are examples from AllThingsHow, not mandatory pairings. Substitute units that are already built and that support the same turn, damage, or resource plan.
| Slot | Examples cited by current guides | Selection question |
|---|---|---|
| Main damage dealer | Ms. Stranger or Nautika | Who gains the most from the damage window Rhiannon helps create? |
| Additional support | Charon or Semmelweis | Which support covers a need Rhiannon does not, such as another buff, debuff, or action-economy effect? |
| Sustain | Enigma or Rubuska | Who can keep the party alive without consuming the turns or resources your damage plan needs? |
Pairing with the damage dealer
Start with the attacker, not with a favorite support list. Identify whether the attacker needs faster setup, more damage during a short window, extra Critical Damage, or help surviving long enough to use an ultimate. Then check whether The Soft Rain of Yesterday’s broad party benefits improve that plan. Rhiannon should make the attacker’s best turns better, not compete with them for the same role.

Adding the second support
The second support should cover a gap. If Rhiannon already supplies the teamwide damage assistance your composition needs, the other support can add a different kind of buff or debuff. Avoid two units that both require the same scarce action or resource unless the team’s rotation can support it.
Selecting sustain
Rhiannon’s support value disappears when the team collapses. Choose a sustain unit that handles the content consistently and does not force your damage dealer to delay every important action. A slightly less ambitious team that survives its intended cycle is stronger than a theoretical high-output team that loses Rhiannon before her buffs matter.
When Rhiannon is the wrong slot
Rhiannon is flexible, but flexibility is not the same as universal necessity. Prydwen cautions that a team with an established, complete archetype may gain less from her than a roster that needs a flexible support to cover a weak link.
Keep your existing archetype when it already has:
- a complete damage engine with no missing support function;
- a reliable sustain plan for the content you are clearing;
- a rotation in which every slot is already contributing to the same damage window; and
- no practical problem that Rhiannon’s buffs, debuffs, or flexible role would solve.
Slot Rhiannon when your roster has a support gap, when a team needs more reliable party damage assistance, or when you need a unit who can contribute without demanding a narrowly defined archetype. Test the replacement against your actual failure point: slow clears, lost damage windows, resource timing, or deaths. If she does not improve that point, keep the established composition.
Step-by-step build process
- Define her job. Mark Rhiannon as the team-support slot and choose the attacker whose damage windows you want to improve.
- Set the psychube. Start with The Soft Rain of Yesterday. Consider Family Mentor only after checking that the team uses Moxie often enough to stack its effect reliably.
- Choose the Insight target. Plan for Insight III, especially if early-fight Moxie and the 70% Raptor Kinship start will change your rotation.
- Spend Resonance resources. Build ATK and Max HP first, then add the defensive value needed for the content where she is taking damage.
- Assemble the shell. Add one main damage dealer, one complementary support, and one sustain unit. Use the cited examples only if they match your account and plan.
- Check the live tooltips. Verify current psychube wording, Rhiannon’s Insight effects, and material costs in the client before finalizing an expensive upgrade.
- Test the first damage window. Compare how quickly the team reaches its planned output with Rhiannon present. If setup is still slow, review Moxie use and whether the second support is competing for actions.
- Test survivability. If Rhiannon falls before the support cycle completes, move Resonance toward Max HP or another relevant defensive option before chasing more personal damage.
Common build mistakes and fixes
Building her as the main carry
Symptom: Resonance is loaded with personal critical stats while the team’s damage window remains unchanged. Fix: restore ATK and Max HP priorities, then evaluate whether the party’s main attacker is receiving a clearer benefit.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Choosing Family Mentor without a Moxie plan
Symptom: the team ends encounters before the Critical Damage effect reaches useful stacks. Fix: return to The Soft Rain of Yesterday or redesign the team around frequent, reliable Moxie use.
Stopping before Insight III
Symptom: Rhiannon spends too long preparing while enemies or short stages end the fight. Fix: prioritize the Insight III milestone after immediate account bottlenecks are handled.
Using two supports with the same job
Symptom: both supports want the same actions, leaving the damage dealer unable to execute its plan. Fix: replace the second support with one that covers a different need, or choose a sustain unit that preserves the rotation.
Recommended Free Tools
Ignoring roster context
Symptom: replacing a complete archetype team produces no measurable improvement. Fix: use Rhiannon where she fills a genuine support gap; flexibility alone is not a reason to displace a functioning composition.
How to validate the build after an update
Because the available evidence comes from secondary guides rather than an official live-kit document, use a short in-client check whenever Rhiannon or her psychubes receive a balance or version update.
- Open Rhiannon’s character screen and confirm her current role tags, damage type, and Insight text.
- Read The Soft Rain of Yesterday and Family Mentor directly, including activation conditions and stack timing.
- Confirm whether entry-combat Moxie and the 70% Raptor Kinship start still appear at Insight III.
- Review the current material list on the Insight screen before farming.
- Run the intended team in the content where you need help and observe setup speed, survival, and the attacker’s damage window.
This check protects you from carrying an old numerical value into a new client while preserving the durable principles of the build: support-first gearing, ATK and Max HP Resonance, Insight III as the major milestone, and teammates chosen around a real roster need.
