The best Umamusume: Pretty Derby support-card deck is the one that fits your trainee, race plan, scenario, and card collection—not a fixed six-card tier list. Build around two or three stats you need, match skill hints to the trainee’s running style and distance, then use the guest card to cover your biggest gap.
How the six-card deck works
A Career run uses six support-card slots. You can fill one with a borrowed guest card, which makes it useful for covering a weakness in your own roster or adding a key skill or training effect. The trainee you are raising cannot be included in the deck, duplicate character cards cannot be combined, and you cannot select the same card twice, according to the BlueStacks support-card guide.
Each slot contributes more than its printed rarity. Consider the card’s friendship bonus, training effect, initial bond, specialty priority, level and uncaps, and skill pool. A lower-rarity card can be a better fit than a nominally stronger one if it supports the training plan and offers useful skills.
Choose cards for the trainee and race plan
Before selecting cards, identify the trainee’s target scenario, race distance, running style, and objective. Career completion and PvP builds can call for different priorities: the Global build guide is explicitly PvP-focused, and its recommendations should not be treated as universal targets. The guide notes that Career goals may be manageable with decent cards and a scenario-specific stat boost, while PvP calls for more goal-specific planning.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Distance: Sprint and Mile plans may leave room for more Speed or Power when stamina is already covered. Medium and Long races can make stamina and recovery more important.
- Running style: Check whether the card’s skill hints support the trainee’s style. A useful-looking stat package can still waste a slot if its skills are poor matches.
- Goal: Decide whether you are building to clear Career objectives or pursuing a more specialized PvP result before setting stat priorities.
Concentrate the deck around two or three stats
Rather than spreading all six cards across six different stats for visual balance, concentrate them in two or three stats that serve the plan. Clustering supports can create stronger friendship-training sessions at the relevant facilities. The right balance still depends on the trainee and scenario; there is no one ratio that suits every build.
Build bond early, then use friendship training
Friendship training requires both building a support’s bond and training at the facility that matches that card. Early in a run, favoring turns where several of your supports are together can help raise multiple bonds. As bond grows, look for stronger sessions at those cards’ matching facilities.

- As bond develops: Check which supports are approaching friendship training and steer toward their matching facilities.
- When choosing a session: Weigh the friendship opportunity against the stats and skills your plan still needs; do not chase a bonus that pulls the build away from its goal.
Use skill pools as a real deck-building factor
Support cards are not interchangeable stat providers. Their skill hints can determine whether a slot helps the trainee’s distance and running style. The BlueStacks guide offers the following cards as examples grouped by style; treat them as examples from that guide, not current or universal best-in-slot rankings, and check each card’s skill details in-game.
- Front Runner examples: Silence Suzuka, Twin Turbo, Seiun Sky, Smart Falcon, and Mihono Bourbon.
- Pace Chaser examples: Special Week, Mejiro McQueen, El Condor Pasa, and Tokai Teio.
- Late Surger examples: Eishin Flash, Vodka, Agnes Tachyon, Grass Wonder, Manhattan Cafe, and Nice Nature.
- End Closer examples: Hishi Amazon, Narita Taishin, Sweep Tosho, and Gold Ship.
Where familiar card recommendations fit
The BlueStacks guide names Kitasan Black (Fire at My Heels) as a broad-use Speed example, Super Creek (Piece of Mind) for Swinging Maestro recovery, Fine Motion (Wave of Gratitude) for training effectiveness, and Light Hello as a scenario-linked Pal example for Grand Concert. These are recommendations from that guide’s context, not timeless verdicts. Its Grand Concert advice is scenario-specific, and card pools and scenario conditions can change.

How to use tier lists without copying the wrong build
A score or rank only makes sense in its selected context. The fan-made Umamusume Global Reference support-card rankings, updated August 26, 2026, let readers select server, scenario, stat preset, deck, and card-collection context; the page describes its rankings as computed scores and says it is not affiliated with Cygames. Its score represents adding a card to a selected deck, not an unconditional rank across every account or build.
The companion Global Edition support-card build guide, also updated August 26, 2026, is PvP-focused. Do not transfer a Global or JP preset score into a different server, scenario, or deck and assume the ranking still applies. Compare prospective cards by training output, how reliably they can build bond, skill fit, scenario effects, and what the displaced slot would otherwise provide.

Finish the deck with a deliberate guest card
Once the trainee, scenario, core stats, and skill needs are clear, assign the borrowed card to your largest remaining gap. If a Sprint or Mile plan already has stamina covered, the BlueStacks guide suggests considering more Speed or Power. For Medium or Long plans, consider whether stamina or recovery is the unmet need. The guest slot should solve a specific problem, rather than simply add the highest-rated card you can borrow.

Check the live Scout banner before spending
Trainee and support-card scouts are separate, and featured scouts rotate. A static guide cannot establish that a named card is currently available on every regional server. Open the in-game Scout details and verify the featured cards and rates for your server before spending Carats. The community-maintained Umamusu Wiki New Player Guide describes the scout system; the game’s own live Scout screen is the place to confirm current availability.
