If by “Block account” you mean Cash App, sign in while you still can and save the statements and transaction history available in your account. Cash App’s U.S. terms describe access to 12-month and 24-month transaction history in the app or at cash.app/account; those periods describe history you can view, not a guarantee of a complete lifetime archive. If you need personal information or plan to close the account, contact Cash App support first. These instructions are for Cash App only, not Square, Afterpay, TIDAL, or every service operated by Block.
The safest approach is to save what the account currently makes available, confirm that the copies open, and keep a second copy somewhere you control. If you need records outside the statements and history you can see, make a personal-information request before you lose access. Cash App may verify your identity, and neither an account closure nor a support request guarantees that every record will be supplied or erased.
What to save before access changes
Prioritize records you may need to reconcile payments, document a dispute, or keep for your own files. Cash App’s U.S. Terms of Service, last updated June 4, 2026, say account statements and transaction receipts are available through the account and that users can view 12-month and 24-month histories of account transactions in the app or at cash.app/account. The terms also state, “You have the right to receive an Account statement.”

- Security & Warranty: Securely protects files using an advanced security software solution with 256-bit AES encryption. Backed by a Lexar 3-year limited warranty
- Statements: save the account statements available for the periods you need. If you keep records for a particular month or year, make sure the saved statement corresponds to that period.
- Transaction history and receipts: save the available history and receipts, especially records relevant to payments, transfers, or disputes. A statement and a receipt are not necessarily interchangeable records, so retain both when you need both.
- Personal information: if you need information beyond statements and transaction records, submit a request through Cash App support while you can still sign in. The privacy notice says identity may be verified before access is granted.
- Request correspondence: keep confirmation or other correspondence about a support or personal-information request with your saved records. It can help you remember what you asked for and when, but it is not itself a substitute for the account records.
How to save your Cash App records while signed in
- Open Cash App or go to cash.app/account. Sign in through the official service while you still have access. The exact account screens may vary; the official terms identify the app and account page as places to view transaction history. Use the official app or type the official address yourself rather than following an unexpected link in a message.
- Locate the available statements and transaction history. Review the periods shown in your account and select the records you need. Cash App’s terms describe 12-month and 24-month history access, but do not establish that this is a full lifetime record. If you are trying to preserve a particular payment, check that you have saved the relevant record rather than assuming a general history view contains every receipt or statement you need.
- Save each record using the options currently presented in your account. The official material establishes that statements and receipts are available through the account, but does not specify a universal download button, file format, or exact menu path. Do not assume every record can be exported in one action. If the account offers a way to save or download a record, follow the current on-screen instructions and note what the account says is included.
- Work through the periods you actually need. The stated history windows should not be read as a promise that one action captures every available period. Review what is presented for your account and save the relevant statements, history, and receipts. If a period or record you need is not shown, record what is missing and ask support about it before closing the account, if possible.
- Check the saved copies. Open the files or records on the device where you saved them and confirm that they are readable and cover the periods you intended to keep. Check that a file is not empty or obviously incomplete. This basic check cannot prove that it contains every item Cash App holds, but it can catch an unsuccessful save before you lose convenient access to the account.
- Make a second copy in a place you control. Keep one copy somewhere separate from the device you use to access Cash App—for example, on a computer or an optional removable drive. A removable drive is simply a general-purpose storage option, not a Cash App product or requirement. The point is to avoid having your only copy on one device that could be lost, damaged, or unavailable.
- Protect the copies. Statements and transaction records can contain financial and identity information. Store them somewhere access-controlled, and use encryption or another appropriate protection if available to you. Cash App’s cited materials do not prescribe a personal backup-security method, so this is a general precaution rather than a Cash App requirement.
- Keep a simple record of what you saved. Note the date you made the copy and which statements or periods it covers. Keep that note with your files or in another place you can access. It helps distinguish the records you have preserved from items you still need to request, without changing the original account documents.
Where should you keep a second copy?
There is no Cash App-specific backup device or required storage product. Choose a location based on the practical tradeoffs that matter to you: whether you can reach it when offline, whether it is separate from the device used to access Cash App, how easily it could be lost or damaged, and whether the files are protected from other people’s access.
A computer can be convenient for opening and reviewing files, but keeping the only copy on the same computer you use every day leaves it dependent on that one device. An optional removable drive can be kept separately and accessed without an internet connection, but it is also a small physical object that can be misplaced or damaged. Whichever you choose, do not leave a financial file somewhere public or shared without considering who can open it. These are general storage considerations; Cash App does not endorse a particular backup method in the cited terms or privacy notice.
For a second copy to be useful, make sure it is actually separate from the first. Two files in different folders on the same device are still dependent on that device. After copying, open the second copy as well. Do not edit transaction details to make a file easier to read or to change how a record appears; retain the original as saved. If you need to add context, keep a separate note rather than altering the statement or receipt.

Is there a Cash App CSV download?
A June 2026 Data Report Card article describes a self-serve download of personal information as a CSV file. That publisher explicitly says it did not independently test the process. Treat the CSV route as a reported possibility, not a verified Cash App instruction: the exact interface path, availability for every account, contents, and completeness are not established here.
If you see an export option after signing in, review what the account says the export includes and inspect the resulting file. Keep it in addition to—not instead of—any statements or receipts you need. A CSV report may be useful for reviewing rows of information in a compatible program, but the cited article does not establish that it contains every statement, receipt, or other account record. Do not rely on the existence of a CSV option as proof that you have saved a full account archive.

If the option is absent, do not infer that your account has no records or that support can necessarily generate the same export; ask Cash App through its official support channels. Likewise, if the file you receive does not appear to cover the periods or information you expected, preserve it as received and ask support what other records may be available. The CSV route is not a substitute for the official account and support channels, and the reported steps may change as the interface changes.
Request personal information or close the account before losing access
Cash App’s Privacy Notice, effective June 8, 2026, directs users to support for account closure and personal-information requests. It says Cash App may verify identity before granting access to personal information. The notice says users may deactivate or close an account by logging in and visiting cash.app/support. If you need records, make the request and save the records available to you before taking a step that could end your access.
A practical order is to first save statements, transaction history, and receipts that are currently available; then contact support about additional personal information or an account action; and finally confirm that your saved copies open and that you have kept a second copy. This order is a precaution, not an official guarantee about how quickly a request will be handled. The cited materials do not establish a processing time or promise that an information request will be completed before account access changes.
When you contact support, be clear about whether you are asking for account closure, personal information, or help locating a particular record. If there is a specific payment, receipt, statement period, or other record you need, describe it as precisely as you can. Keep the request and any response. Identity checks may be part of the process, so use Cash App’s official route and follow its current instructions. Do not send passwords or authentication codes to someone who contacts you unexpectedly claiming to be support.
Closing an account is not a promise that all associated information will be erased. The privacy notice describes circumstances in which Cash App may retain information after closure, including for legal and compliance obligations, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and service-related purposes. A personal copy is therefore useful even if you intend to close the account, but it does not change Cash App’s retention practices. Conversely, possible retention by Cash App is not a reason to assume you will still be able to sign in and retrieve records later.

If you have already lost access
Use Cash App’s official support contacts listed in its U.S. terms: in-app chat if it is available to you, cash.app/help, or 1-800-969-1940. The terms identify that number as Cash App’s only support phone number. Avoid relying on phone numbers or support links from unsolicited messages.

Be prepared for identity verification. The available terms and privacy notice do not guarantee that support can restore account access, provide an export, or release records without authentication. Describe the account issue and the specific records you need; keep a copy of your request and any response. Do not send passwords or authentication codes in response to an unsolicited contact.
If you cannot use in-app chat because you cannot sign in, try the official help site or the phone number listed in the terms. State that you have lost access and explain whether you are seeking account help, statements, transaction history, receipts, or personal information. These contacts are the official routes identified in the terms, not a promise that any specific recovery or document-delivery outcome will be available. Follow the verification steps support provides and do not give sensitive sign-in details to a person or website you reached through an unverified message.
If you regain access, save the records then, check the copies, and make a second copy. If you do not regain access, keep your support correspondence and any relevant account records you already possess. Do not alter or misrepresent financial records while trying to make a record of the situation.
Keep the backup useful as evidence
- Preserve the original downloaded records without editing transaction details.
- Keep notes about when you saved a file and which account period it covers.
- Save confirmation or correspondence for any support or information request alongside your records.
- Do not present an edited record as an original financial statement or receipt.
- If you need to add an explanation for your own files, write it separately and identify it as your note rather than changing the saved account record.
These steps do not certify that a copy is complete or establish how a third party will assess it. They simply help you preserve the record in the form you received it and remember where it came from. If you need a record for a dispute or another formal purpose, ask the relevant organization what documentation it requires rather than assuming one file type will satisfy every need.

If your account is not Cash App
Block operates multiple products, and the sources cited here document Cash App rather than a universal Block account export. For Square, Afterpay, TIDAL, or another Block service, use that product’s own account, support, and privacy documentation. Do not assume that Cash App’s history windows, export options, or closure process apply to another service.
Start with the account and privacy materials for the specific product, then identify its official support route while you can still sign in. The Cash App phone number, cash.app/account history windows, CSV report, and support or closure steps in this article should not be treated as instructions for a different Block product. If you have more than one Block product account, handle each one separately and keep the records clearly labeled so you do not confuse which service supplied them.

How do I back up my Block account data before losing access?
If you mean Cash App, sign in and save the statements, transaction history, and receipts available in your account. Cash App’s U.S. terms describe 12-month and 24-month history access in the app or at cash.app/account, but do not promise a complete lifetime archive. Make any personal-information request through support while you still have access, verify that saved records open, and keep a second copy somewhere you control. For another Block service, use that product’s own documentation.
How do I download my Cash App transaction history?
The official terms identify the Cash App app and cash.app/account as places to view transaction history, and state that statements and receipts are available through the account. The terms do not specify a universal download button or exact menu path, so follow the options currently shown after signing in. A June 2026 Data Report Card article reports a self-serve CSV download but says it was not independently tested; treat that route as unverified and check what any export includes.

Does Cash App keep all my records for 12 or 24 months?
The terms describe viewing 12-month and 24-month histories of account transactions. Those are stated history-viewing periods, not a claim about how long all underlying records are retained, and not proof that every record since account opening is available in the interface. The privacy notice also describes circumstances where information may be retained after account closure.
Will closing Cash App delete all my personal information?
No such promise appears in the cited privacy notice. It describes circumstances where Cash App may retain information after closure, including for legal and compliance obligations, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and service-related purposes. Closing the account should not be treated as guaranteed total erasure.
What if I cannot sign in to Cash App?
The U.S. terms list in-app chat if available, cash.app/help, and 1-800-969-1940 as support contacts; the terms identify that phone number as Cash App’s only support number. Contact support through those official routes and explain what records you need. The terms and privacy notice do not guarantee that support can restore access or provide an export without authentication.
Is the CSV download a complete Cash App backup?
That has not been established. The June 2026 Data Report Card article describing a CSV download says its publisher did not independently test the process. The exact path, availability, contents, and completeness are unverified, so do not treat a CSV as a guaranteed full archive or as a replacement for statements and receipts you need.
The Bottom Line
For Cash App, save the account statements, transaction history, and receipts available while you can still sign in, then open the saved records and keep a second copy somewhere you control. The 12-month and 24-month history windows in the U.S. terms are viewing periods, not a promise of a full lifetime archive. Submit personal-information requests or ask about missing records through official support before closing or losing access. Account closure does not guarantee total erasure, and support cannot be assumed to restore access or supply an export without verification.
