To avoid losing items, Kinah, Quna, or your account in AION 2, keep every transaction inside the game’s recognized systems, verify the exact item name, price, and quantity before confirming, and treat unexpected requests, private “staff” messages, and unverified patch claims as potential fraud. The AION 2 Global Operation Policy also prohibits unauthorized real-money trading (RMT) and account deals, while recovery after a loss is time-limited and not guaranteed.
The current official materials establish the fraud patterns and reporting deadlines below, but they do not conclusively establish whether every player-to-player trading method or marketplace-access requirement is available in every current version. Check the live game interface and the latest AION 2 Team notices before relying on any community explanation of how trading works.
What the AION 2 policy treats as fraud
The Global Operation Policy gives examples of deceptive conduct involving virtual items, currency, and accounts. They are examples rather than a complete list, so a scam does not become safe merely because it uses a different script.
Fake trades involving items, currency, or accounts
A proposed exchange can be fraudulent when the other party promises an item, currency, or account access but does not deliver what was agreed. The same risk applies when someone asks you to hand over an account or character in exchange for value outside the game. A screenshot, promise, or familiar name is not a substitute for a transaction the game actually records.

Similar-looking icons used to manipulate a price
The policy specifically identifies the use of similar item icons to manipulate prices. A valuable item may have an icon that resembles a cheaper one, or a listing may be presented so quickly that you confirm the wrong object. Compare the icon with the item’s actual name and read the complete confirmation screen instead of relying on a glance.
Impersonating a friend or legion member
A scammer may copy a character name, appearance, or writing style and then claim to be someone you know. A familiar-looking avatar is not proof of identity. Treat a request for an urgent loan, gift, or “temporary” transfer as unverified until you confirm it through a separate channel you already trust.
False patch information used to move prices
The policy also lists spreading false patch information to manipulate prices. A private message claiming that an item will become rare, unusable, or dramatically more valuable is not reliable just because it sounds technical. Check an official notice before changing a buying or selling decision based on an alleged update.
Impersonating a GM or company employee
Someone may claim to be a GM or another company employee and request items, currency, credentials, or a “verification payment.” Do not treat staff-sounding language as authorization. Use the official support route when a message claims to represent the company, and never disclose your password or authentication information in a private conversation.
Check every marketplace confirmation detail
The policy says that failing to verify transaction details can cause a loss that is not subject to restoration. Before you confirm an order, pause on the final details shown by the game and inspect each field.
| Detail | What to verify | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Item name | Read the full name, including distinguishing words, level, grade, or other displayed qualifiers. | Two items can have similar names or icons while having very different values. |
| Price | Check the exact amount requested and the currency used by the listing. | A misplaced digit or an intentionally inflated amount can turn a normal purchase into an expensive mistake. |
| Quantity | Confirm how many units the order contains and whether the displayed total reflects that quantity. | A listing for one unit may look attractive when you intended to buy a bundle, or the reverse. |
Compare the actual icon and name, read the entire listing, and make sure the confirmation screen still shows the deal you intended. If the interface changes while you are checking, close the confirmation and start again rather than guessing. The publisher’s rule is about verifying the transaction details presented in the game; it does not promise restoration when a player accepts an inaccurate listing.

Keep transactions inside recognized systems
The policy prohibits exchanging game items for real money, goods, services, or items from another game. It also prohibits trading accounts or characters for real-world value. A transaction arranged through an unrecognized method can create both scam risk and a policy violation, even if the other person appears trustworthy.
Do not buy unauthorized Kinah or Quna
In an official AION 2 Team warning dated October 5, 2026, the team stated: “Buying Kinah or Quna from unauthorized parties is strictly against our Terms of Service and will be met with swift consequences up to and including the termination of access to the game.” Buying currency from an outside seller can therefore cost you access to the game as well as the money sent to the seller.
Reject off-platform substitutions
Be cautious when a person asks you to move a deal to a payment service, social-media message, direct transfer, or another game. The request may be designed to remove the evidence and safeguards of the recognized system. The policy says damage caused by item or account trading in a manner not recognized by the company is not eligible for restoration. Do not let a promise of a discount, faster delivery, or a rare item pressure you into bypassing the game’s recorded process.
Do not lend or sell an account
An account or character transfer creates risks that an ordinary item purchase does not: the other person may change credentials, use prohibited software, spend currency, or leave you unable to prove ownership. Even if the arrangement is described as temporary, exchanging it for real-world value conflicts with the published rules and may eliminate recovery options.
Verify people instead of trusting appearances
Impersonation works because players recognize a name or avatar and stop checking. Use identity habits that reduce that assumption without claiming that any single technique is an official guarantee.

- Read the account or character name carefully. Similar characters, spacing, and altered spellings can make a copy look authentic.
- Do not treat rank, guild membership, profile artwork, or confident language as proof that the sender is genuine.
- If a message demands secrecy or immediate action, stop and verify. Urgency is a reason to slow down, not a reason to skip checks.
- If someone claims to be staff, end the private negotiation and use official Customer Support or the website’s reporting route.
These precautions apply the policy’s impersonation examples to ordinary play. They do not replace the game’s own account-verification process.

Protect the account used for trading
Trading safety includes account security. Keep credentials private, do not reuse a password that has been exposed elsewhere, and use the security measures offered by the official account service. The policy mentions periodic password changes and enrollment in a security authentication service as examples of security practices; it does not require or name a particular hardware token, application, or device.
When a security lock appears
An official AION 2 Team notice explains that a temporary security lock can be applied when access from a device or connection raises a potential security concern. The lock is a protective measure pending verification. If you encounter one, follow the notice and contact official Customer Support rather than paying anyone who promises to remove it or giving a stranger your credentials.
Recognize credential requests as a separate danger
A trade scam can become an account-theft attempt when a person asks for your password, one-time code, recovery information, or a login screenshot. No normal marketplace confirmation requires you to reveal those secrets to another player. Close the conversation, secure the account through the official service, and preserve the message as evidence if you report it.
A careful marketplace purchase procedure
Labels and available functions can change, so use the current live interface rather than assuming that a community guide reflects your edition. The following sequence focuses on the checks required by the published policy.
- Open the listing through the current in-game marketplace. Do not follow a private link or accept a manually arranged substitute when the game provides a recognized listing process.
- Identify the exact item. Compare the icon and the complete item name. Expand any details the interface provides so similar-looking objects are not confused.
- Read the price and currency. Check every digit and confirm which in-game currency is being charged.
- Check the quantity. Make sure the unit count and total match what you intend to buy.
- Review the final confirmation. Do not confirm until the item name, price, and quantity still match your decision. If any field differs, cancel and select the listing again.
- Save the transaction record. Keep the order screen, receipt, or other in-game record available if the interface provides one. Record the date and the character or listing details while they are fresh.
- Stop when the deal changes. If the seller asks for extra payment, an outside transfer, account access, or a different item, treat it as a new and unverified transaction.
This procedure is a practical application of the policy’s requirement to verify transaction details. It is not a promise that every purchase can be reversed.
What to do before a suspected scam completes
If something feels wrong, the safest intervention is to stop before confirmation. Do not send a “test” payment or a small amount to see whether the person is honest; that can establish a pattern that makes a larger loss more likely.

- Check official AION 2 notices for any claimed patch or policy change rather than relying on the sender.
- Use the website’s Report section for reports about abusive users or suspected account theft.
- If credentials may have been exposed, secure the account through the official account service immediately and contact Customer Support.
Report the behavior even when the attempted scam did not succeed. The policy describes an investigation and sanction process, but filing a report does not guarantee a particular outcome.

How to report a loss or account theft
Speed matters because the policy sets a 15-day window for account-theft reports. File the report within 15 days of the incident through the website’s Report section, include the relevant transaction and account information, and follow any evidence instructions shown by the support system.
Preserve useful evidence
Include the exact item name, price, quantity, date and time, character names, marketplace or transaction identifiers, message history, and screenshots that show the confirmation details. Explain what you expected to receive and what actually happened. Avoid editing screenshots in a way that removes context, and do not send your password or authentication codes as evidence.
Understand the appeal deadline
If the company applies a sanction and you believe it is incorrect, the policy says an appeal must be submitted within 15 days of the sanction. Use the official appeal route and provide a clear chronology. Missing the deadline can remove the stated appeal opportunity.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When item restoration may or may not be available
The policy describes limited recovery for an abnormally moved item connected with fraud or account theft. It does not guarantee that an item, currency, fee, or account will be restored. Eligibility depends on the policy’s conditions and the company’s investigation.
Recommended Free Tools
| Situation | Published treatment |
|---|---|
| Abnormally moved item reported promptly after fraud or account theft | Recovery may be available after investigation, subject to the policy’s conditions. |
| Item movement occurred more than 15 days before the report | The policy says the item cannot be recovered. |
| Item connected with RMT | The policy excludes it from recovery. |
| Marketplace purchase, sale, or fee made incorrectly | Listed as non-restorable. |
| Loss caused by failing to check transaction details | Not subject to restoration under the policy’s limitation. |
| User-to-user fraud without company involvement | Excluded from restoration under the policy’s limitation. |
These exclusions are why checking the confirmation screen and reporting quickly are more important than assuming support can undo a completed trade. Contacting support promptly preserves the possibility of review; it is not a promise of reimbursement or item return.

Common scam scenarios and the safer response
“I listed the wrong item; send it back and I will replace it”
Do not return an item through a separate arrangement based only on a promise. If the listing or marketplace record is wrong, use the recognized support or reporting process and preserve the original details. Sending a replacement manually can create a second transaction that the policy does not recognize.
“The next patch will double this item’s value”
Do not buy or sell solely on a private patch rumor. Look for the claim in a current official notice. If it cannot be verified, treat it as speculation and accept that the market may not move as promised.
“I am a GM; give me the item for verification”
Do not transfer items, currency, or credentials to a private claimant. End the exchange and contact Customer Support through the official route. Preserve the message and account name for a report.

“Buy Kinah or Quna here and your account will be safe”
Reject the offer. The October 5, 2026 AION 2 Team warning says unauthorized currency purchases violate the Terms of Service and can lead to termination of game access. A seller’s guarantee cannot override that rule.
“The buyer is your legion member, so skip the checks”
Familiarity does not change the requirement to verify the item name, price, and quantity. Impersonation of friends and legion members is one of the policy’s named fraud patterns, and a rushed confirmation can still be irreversible.
What is still changing
Official materials establish the conduct rules, confirmation checks, reporting deadlines, and recovery limits described here. They do not conclusively establish the current availability of direct player-to-player trade or every marketplace-access requirement. A feature shown in an older video, forum post, or regional discussion may not be available in your current build.
Before trading, check the live AION 2 interface and the newest official notices for the transaction methods currently enabled in your region or edition. Follow the labels and warnings shown at the moment of confirmation, and do not treat community claims as official policy unless an AION 2 Team notice or the current Operation Policy supports them.
